The entire system is based on conditioning you to want to spend money - with purely cosmetic items you're meant to feel left out for not having pretty costumes that everyone else is running around with and being cheated when your "free drops" are nothing but repeat items or skins for characters you don't play. You can say that you aren't affected by it, but the millions being made by the likes of Riot, Valve, and Blizzard show that people clearly care enough about cosmetic character customization to blow wads on it.

It's only slightly acceptable in a F2P game since that taking that psychological pummeling is basically the fee for playing the game. But in an already full-priced game? It's just plain exploitative and unacceptable.

I've learned during my time playing Ana is that I shouldn't nano boost a D.va unless there's no other choice. The good ones realize they're nano boosted and not use ult right away. I usually give a nano boost to Reinheart, Roadhog, 76, Genji, or Reaper since they can utilize the boost the best.

Juking a Genji out is far from reliable, but Mercy has a MUCH better chance of surviving it than any other healer (outside of Zen' ult anyway). The best case is when you can run back a bit, get him to SS to you, then GA to a teammate leaving him sword out and noone to swing at. Of course he will do 120, probably 170 to you in the process, but it takes a second swing to get the kill.

Medals don't matter at all. However they are rating performance is likely based on the average stats of all players. If your stats average out to be below the global average for the characters you are playing your rank will shift towards the lower ranks, meaning you will gain less and lose more. So even if you are doing way better than everyone in your team that could just mean that they are headed even further down.

Medals don't really mean much for rank. I forget what the game is assumed to actually track.

My assumption for healers was based on Assists, however my stats don't show any correlation (to anything at all really). It still FEELS like assists to me, but I can't prove it.

The problem right now as I see is the system screwing players over, I am literally 3 wins away from 2000 and every time I get that far I am forced onto losing streaks of 5+, as I mentioned, literally platinums against silvers, not to mention tons of smurfs and recently 2 wallhackers.

I dunno dude it's just you'd have to establish a motive for why the developers would unfairly stack the odds against some players when any benefits that might bring to the boosted would be outweighed by how angry it'd make the victims and the negative coverage it'd bring. When I see posts like that where people blame their failures on anything but themselves I just don't get it seeing how when I'm personally baffled as to how I manage to die sometimes the kill cam shows me shit I didn't notice.

It all just reminds me of the time I was playing against a guy in a shooter who got salty that I shot and killed him through a wall while he took cover when the reason I managed to kill him was because his foot was peeking out of cover and I killed him by shooting him in the foot. Pretty much anytime I've seen these kinds of complaints backed by footage it's almost always been either a failure of awareness of some type on the part of the player or in rare cases a bug.

Consider how the game is supposed to give you a 50% win ratio no matter what, in theory it would be done by increasing the difficulty in a linear way, that is, giving you opponents that are on equal footing, but then you re-check the philosophy behind OW's matchmaking, time is the priority and I recall them wording like "losing is not fun, so being in a long queue to go onto a losing match is way worse" or something along those lines, the system bypasses a lot of what its meant to consider in order to give a "fun" match to people whose turn to win comes up.

Let's not forget how comp balances the Q sometimes by giving you or your opponent a worse team lineup to compensate for not finding better players for the other team.

I can admit my mistakes when it comes to skill, but aside from the occasional cheater I have seen stuff that doesn't make sense.

Another example was when I was in a group of 3 + 3 solos, Anubis, ATK, enemy team had a Torb who got Molten core in less than a 30 seconds of the match starting, he was literally babbysitting the turret and not once he dealt enough damage to justify having considering nobody wanted to step outside of Rein's shield.

However the game doesn't throw better players at you so you loose, you just follow the logic.

Considering how strongly my winrate has been attached to the 50% point for all of my 400+ games to Masters, I'd say I believe it now, to a point.

What I think is going on is that your hidden MMR fluctuates each time you win or lose. When it goes up (for winning) you will be paired with people based on the new value (within the same rank), meaning better enemies and/or worse teammates in order to keep both teams averages the same. The result is that you eventually end up in games that are too stacked against you, you lose, your MMR falls, and then you get the stacks in your favor again.

Because it's trying to balance within the same rank you see a lot more "worse teammates" than "better opponents",

Anyawy, my winrate right now is 202-202, and I don't think it's EVER beenmore than +-8. When it does get into the extremes I hit a streak, one way or the other.

There's probably a limit though, if you just fail utterly or win way too many games your MMR doesn't keep going up or down after too long, meaning you can get some "free" wins or losses away from the 50% range. It's especially common in larger groups.
