I told them about the stairs

why didnt they listen

they never listen

love it when they sally out, makes it so much easier.

I'm glad I uninstalled Warband, it already robbed me of 1350 hours, but its reign of timewasting is over. I have never played a game that felt more of a pointless, bottomless timesink.

So are you looking forward to Bannerlord?

I no longer use bows in field battles. I limit myself to melee only. It's a small change, but
I had become addicted to horse archery and was getting bored of it.
It's way too powerful in PoP, especially once you get noldor or hawkstorm bows.
Pic related, my kingdom. Only the horsefuckers and Ravenstern left.
I have a custom order but they're not ready. I don't feel like I need them to be honest but I had loads of money.

If you weren't enjoying yourself why didn't you stop sooner?. I've owned the game since release and only have about 600 hours.

I just started war band its pretty good, but how do you make money? I'm signed on as a merc and I'v made some money raiding villages but maintaining my army is soo expensive I cant get enough to buy a business

>honorabu boshin last weeaboo war never ever
>good half-decent playable pike and shot mod never ever

Yes

Also does a shield on your back help protect you from damage from behind?

Native? Sell prisoners and loot. Equip yourself and your companions with hammers and/or get manhunter troops from bandits. The next step is buying the most profitable enterprise in every city.

How high is your leadership skill? It lowers troop wages in addition to its other effects. Also, your merc pay is dependant on the size and quality of your party.
So better party + lower wages from high leadership = more profit from being a merc company.

Otherwise, prisoners sell for a lot if they're not trash. You could use blunt weapons but autocalc guarantees prisoners if you're willing to risk your men. Surgery skill helps convert deaths into wounds (hint: max out surgery)
The boring but safe option is trading. I don't memorize trade routes, but I do know that date fruit from the khergit (and sarranid?) territories sells for a LOT in most other places.

Yes, but it's not full protection like if you had the shield on your arm.

Definitely against projectiles. And you have three main ways of making shekels: raid half a map but faggots are going to hate/those fiefs are gonna be dirt poor, merchant up and roam while opening manufacturing branches all over the map and finally be a tourneyfag.

yes, arrows can hit your shield on your back which reduces damage, but don't count on it because the hitbox is strange for it.

Arrows can also totally negate damage if you're running and an arrow hits the shield in your hand (without you holding it up) which is kinda cool. Sometimes it can hit right when you're trying to do an attack which can throw your timing off.

Should clarify, it protects your men from dying. It does nothing to convert enemy deaths into prisoners.

I completely forgot about that. If you're good at it you can make mad dosh from tournaments. Try to win a couple without betting and once you're comfortable you should bet on yourself every round.

Or just save and reload when you lose. Easy.

My leadership is 3 and prisoner managment is only 1, I've been selling them when I find them, granted only been about a month game time.

Also I suck at jousting so cant win tournys, got close though

I dont like doing that but it is a good ideah, I've done the arena but that isnt really worth it unless you win.

Great way to get some initial proficiency or practice up, not really worth for cash

The arena is only a good option if you want to practice or if you're starting a new character and are REALLY confident in your ability to be the last man standing.
You get about 2k in cash if I remember correctly, which is enough to get a good number of mid-level mercenaries or some decent equipment.

I've only once managed to beat an encounter like that and it was by chamber blocking the fuck out of him. I'm still not good enough to do it consistently, but I swear was blessed by the gods during that fight.

What mod makes it that much? I think it's 200 in vanilla, which isn't really worth it considering the time enemy spawns take and how one stray arrow fucks it up for a starting character.

I was misremembering. The wiki says it's 250 cash and 200 experience. I would still give it a go if I had a new character with a focus on combat skills.

Do quests for lords. Some pay rather well (tax collection).
Remember who the good lords are (upstanding or martial reputation) and focus on getting them to like you.

Didn't the patch come out?

And it's a pity the author stopped adding content to it. It really felt like one of the few mods that actually was "complete", and the game being build around the lack of shields really helped mix things up.

I'd rather have an Arcanum inspired mod featuring steampunk nations and their modernized armies fighting against knights in magical power armor and elf horse archers.

You'd need to force formations somehow and make your troops smart enough to keep the pike wall and only let the shock infantry in the middle counter-charge and then retreat into the pike formation. Maybe Bannerlord will allow for more complex AI behavior.

Nope and it never will. There was a hotfix for the siege doors but that's it.
But then you need to compensate for shields, spells, summoned creatures and shit… Could work.
Already a thing. There are even working tercio AI scripts.

True, it didn't have much wonky content most big mods have. Though Gekokujo could have used a few special units for the more iconic clans and equipment that deviates from the kinda linear price/utility/weight progression.

So, how do you usually deal with vassals?
Whom do you prioritize?
How many vassals? How many (and what fiefs) do you give them?

I hunt for martial and outstanding lords (cunning could work too) to join and I give 1 castle and 1-2 villages each

We can only hope that with the release of Bannerlord he gets the itch to port it into the new engine.

Just imagine your troops mowing down a bunch of levies with a Gatling gun only to run out of ammo trying to kill a knight in magical armor that then cuts them dead.

The Bohsin war is interesting, but even in Fall of the Samurai once you get to a certain tech level with the Imperial factions they basically obliterate shogunate troops without breaking a sweat.

I mean, you'd somehow need them to force pikes in front of the block, shock troops in the middle, mixed in with crossbows and guns, and halberds on the flanks without all of them spregging out and breaking formation.

It's always been the problem with Sengoku Jidai inspired games/mods, there isn't really all that much unit variety to go around, which is kind of the case with the same period in Europe, outside of a few well known examples.

That's why antiquity is pretty much the best era to stage these kind of games. You had massive variation between armies, even ones geographically close together.

Now that I think about it, I sure hope Bannerlord modding allows for chariots.

I'm playing Brytenwalda right now and just had one of my companions raise my renown by sending her traveling all over the country telling everyone I'm the return of King Arthur. Eh this is pretty fucking cool actually. What do you guys think of Brytenwalda?

Well, both Shogunate and Republic endgame troops are pretty strong. Also hard to compare conscripts or traditionals to marines and shit.
Again this is already a thing. From fairly minor ai scripts like shieldwalls or kneeling riflemen to say L'Aigle and some fairly complex shit.
You even have functioning artillery/heavy weapon teams.
That's either the best or worse idea I ever heard. Just imagine how easy it would be adapting that to tanks or actual vehicles

It's OK if kinda bland. I mean there's pretty much only one way to play, everyone looks and plays nearly the same and the mod is loaded with mechanics that annoy more then provide anything.

huh?

forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,305618.0.html

its out bud I've been playing it

You a proper dipshit or just faking it? The actual 3.1 was supposed to have personalized clan units and a new political "shogunate system" among other things. Also subterfuge/ninja/agent related events, quests that involved getting unique weapons, a mountain sanctuary/village for customized troops and a bunch of other shit.

well its still far more than a door hotfix

Imperial artillery just rapes the shit out of the shogunate my late game.

That was exactly what I was thinking. I see no reason why it would be impossible to put tanks into the game already. Warband can already managed artillery and boats, and we've seen that Bannerlord lets you "drive" a battering ram.

Man, I really hope Bannerlord triggers his autism hard. He's one of the few modders that seemed to understand that it takes more than throwing all manner of random features at a mod to make it good.

The latest/last hotfix for the beta version of the preview patch (or whatever other prefix he would've added in a couple more months) was just fixing doors and toning down the buggy events the first draft added. The actual patch, as in the big 3.1 release hasn't and apparently won't come out.

We good, you lazy fuck?

Yeah, the whole quality over quantity is really a lost art. Too bad Nova Aetafags won't take a few tips from him and fix/trim some of their shit.

I view Nova Aetas as an exercise in what is possible to achieve through scripting. I like that he's experimenting with all this shit but it also looks like he has no clear idea where he wants to go with any of it.

Prioritize one vassal that gets most of the shit. That way you have a reliable companion with over 300 troops at all times. Then go down, 3 guys with 200-250 troops and the rest with 150-200.
Never keep lords as 50-100 becaise they´re useseless and gonna get picked off patrolling.

If the game is not going fast enough for you, speed it up.
You can fix up renown values ez.

I wish the siege grind didn't become such a slog. Thats my biggest complaint about this game.

That must be it. A lot of the features could be refined to a more focused smaller mod. I'd really like a mod about colonizing the new world, for example.

MMOs/CRAPCUNTS/ASSFAGGOTS

To be fair I kind of "get" what he wants to do. Adding more ways to earn money that aren't solely based around fighting and running a caravan around (and even that is pretty basic) is neat, if poorly implemented.

My problem is that most mods that try to add this stuff go with the shitty Skyrim route of having to do everything yourself. Why would someone in command of a mercenary warband decide to chop woods or mine ore? What's the fucking point? Why do I have to work like a nigger?

Why not add more complex caravan management where you have to buy mules for transport, hire escorts and give them a route to travel while you're off doing other shit? Why not buy a mine and let you fill it with people you captured and then link it with your caravans?

I'm actually all for Warband/Bannerlord having a more engaging management side of things for those players that want to set up production chains and profit from trade and industry.

Hell, I wish mods tried to make the line between nobility and everyone else more clear. That would really mix things up.

Warband endgame really is a chore. The game interface is clearly not designed to handle kingdom management in any meaningful way. Why have I, the king, to go around my whole kingdom telling feudal lords to follow me? Why can't I summon them to a specific location or send messengers to give them orders for example?

WWEW

For what purpose.

Most good mods add things like this. PoP for example lets you use a companion to message all the lords telling them you want to organize a campaign, instantly. I usually only use that function to fight the overpowered spawns in the mod, most of the time I let someone else be marshall while I go solo and engage the enemy where they have few troops.

It's silly that in order to become a warrior aristocrat in Nova Aetas it's better punch trees than actually, you know, being a knight.

pleb

When is bannerlord going to be released? I have the patience of a dog.

Soon™.

just make yourself marshall, and then summon everybody to one place

Like I know there are ways to do it, and that mods add the functionality, but I seriously hope they revamped the interface to take into account late game kingdom management.

M&B has a strong core in its base gameplay, everything else on the other hand needs a serious overhaul and additional depth.

The core overmap gameplay of everyone running around picking fights functions well enough when you are just a vassal or below, but I think it would need to be heavily revamped to make gameplay as a faction leader great.

Well. from the videos we saw that they beefed up diplomacy substantially, adding a whole new social "currency" and ability to trade pretty much anything, fiefs included. What it really needs now is the ability to communicate with other lord through messengers (for muh immersion fags) so you don't have to run around all over the place like an errand boy.

Taking a few cues from CK2 on RPG elements, claims and casus belli mechanics would also be a plus, it would help "guide" the AI and not have them acting like complete imbeciles. And yes, I know that all the factions in Warband have claims on several places in the beginning of the game to get them fighting.

Bump

...

I was looking at Gekokujo and it seems the mod isn't completely dead. From the mod author

Here's hoping he'll come back to it or remake it for Bannerlord.

Also, don't know what to make of pic related.

probably an easter egg / special quest
i hope

what mod

THE GELATINOUS CUBE

I'm hoping for a fantasy add-on/expansion though.

An official fantasy expansion would be the tits but I don't want that stuff in the main M&B.
An Arthurian legend spinoff would be the tits for sure.

if that's the case, i hope taleworlds isn't getting ahead of itself.
Developers planning for expansions before they even finished the base game is never good.

pleb detected

I always find it funny that movies depict Arthurian legends using late medieval props. That movie was also all kinds of weird, I remember watching it back when I was in elementary school.

It might have been the first instance of cucking I was subjected to, and even back then I found it repulsive.

Seems to me they are asking the community for ideas. Even if they do have such an expansion planed it can't have gone further than pre-production.

as someone who loves Sam Neil I can tell you that miniseries was the epitome of made for tv 90's garbage

That literally goes back to medieval times itself, the legend has always been an anachronism

best shit ever

It predates the Norman invasion of England. It's likely even older than Christianity becoming the dominant religion.

I don't know why everyone keeps getting it wrong.

I forgot so much of this shit

This is why wizards have to always be virgins.

Hell yes it's older than dirt but from around Geoffrey's telling it's always been a product of it's own time and worn the trappings of the era.
Truth be told nobody gives a shit about hairy-assed barbarian Welsh Arthur even though those sheepfuckers are still waiting for him to show up and push the English back into the sea.

Fair point.

Question is, if they were to make an Arthurian expansion, would they base it off the Welsh sheepfuckers or the more romanticized modern reinterpretation?

Yeah, that's one of the hilarious aspects. Arthur died before England got buttfucked and culturally enriched by Normans. Arthur's subjects are not what we know as Englishmen today.

Still, my primary wish for a fantasy expansion would be flying creatures, especially because of the modding possibilities they could introduce.

Did anyone ever figure out how far up the maps in Warband go?

They also already had their own token Shitskin in the 13th century.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moriaen

Its PoP you pleb
The units are custom knighthood order units.
They are absolute rape on the battlefield but then again with the next upgrade I invested about 1 million denar into them

Whoever wrote that has some serious craving for nigger dick.

At least nobody can blame our generation for unleashing the cucking onto storytelling, our ancestors got there first, may they burn in hell.

And you can bet the BBC dug up that semi obscure arthurian tale when they did the arthurian tv show Merlin targeted towards young audiences. The burgers are in a entirely different league though.

I love how SJWs ignore that there was a sand nigger on the Round Table and he (as well as his father and brother) were portrayed honorably, I guess it doesn't count as minority because it wasn't KAANGZ.

I have created a monster

Which one do I play?

post screenshots of you soldiers

...

what mod

looks like prophesy of pendor

thanks handsome

Prophesy of Pendor

more like Burgli the Dickslurper
well at leat Ive got at least 300 renown out of that nigger

Im currently playing through AD1257, it is fun if you are an autist about history.

Bannerlord fucking when

I hope Bannerlord has mods that add autistic map-simulator features.

TARRASQUES

Did Nova Aetas ever have its bugs fixed? Last time I played the city population/religion stuff was completely fucked, and the tech progression for factions didn't affect AI parties, and took way too much time and money for your own party.

gross. also nigger.

...

Oh man if it's possible to make a working testudo formation my dick will be diamonds.

I'd pay someone if they could make a mod that could accurately depict Ancient Roman life down to the smallest detail such as voice acting (Classical Latin for upper classes and Vulgar for everyone else, also foreign languages like Etruscan, Koine Greek etc.), the political system, economy, building system (villas, military forts, limes and cities), religion (interpretatio graeca, animal sacrifice, mystery religions, priesthoods, vestal virgins).

OH SHIT CHECK THIS OUT NIGGERS
forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=349371

ROMA AETERNAE

I wouldn't mind if vanilla butterlord had slight fantasy elements, like supernatural metals for weapons and armour.

From gameplay point of view a romanticized reinterpretation would offer more stuff to work with and Mount&Blade has never shied from smashing in anachronism for the sake of gameplay diversity.

not bad

My order is better though

This just in: King Ulric desides to open second front on fresh young usurper, gets captured, his crown stolen, cucked out of half his domain.

I was just watching some faggot's thoughts on Bannerlord modding and he was saying that it will be more limited than Warband, citing that Warband let the modders edit the source code.

Now, I'm no expert on programming, but I was always under the impression that Warband used a clunky module system and its own scripting language for modding and didn't allow users to edit the source code.

For Bannerlord TW said you'd be able to edit anything but the base gameplay (whatever "base" means here) and that the system will allow for multiple mods to run together at the same time. Now, this dude extrapolates that since the game will work with separate modules this means it will not allow for the kind of complex mods we see in Warband.

And this when Bannderlord will use C# for scripting.

Frankly, I never gave two shits about native, all I want is for TW to cram in as much mechanics in the base game that modders can use.

well that's correct when you're thinking of changing troops, items, factions, cities and shit
but don't some mods change minor stuff in the combat too? like spears that can break, or tripping etc.

have you ever been so swole that an enemy army ran away cryng for mommy, marshall at the spear ?

Like I said, I'm no expert, but I don't think custom animations and mechanics already in the game (your shield can get destroyed in native) represent them editing the source code.

Warband allows the modders to change plenty of stuff, but I wouldn't say it allows them to completely change the game from scratch. A Warband mod still plays like Warband after all.

I'd wait for the release before asserting this assumption. That multiple mods can be used at the same time doesn't mean the modding system has to be limited to avoid conflicts.

I agree.

That's what I was thinking. There is no reason why different modules can't communicate with each other and create complex synergies, and it would be really weird if TW went back on their word concerning modding and limited what can be done when the main selling point of M&B are the mods, and they don't seem Bethesda tier retards in that regard.

Also, the engine source code for Warband was never released either.

Here's a few quotes:

I'm just worried about their "core parts" statement.

I designed those guys to compensate for my horsefucker allergy, to place them between the infantry and the archers and form a failsafe in a small group.

Turns out those guys are more versatile than that.

yes, arrows specially but while i haven't tested on myself i found that hitting NPCs with shields on their back does less damage

You just have to pray the extra troops bleed off sooner than they declare war on you.

Otherwise its just you running interference for hours so they dont snatch your only town.

that's what we are hoping butterlord is.
Widened and deeper game mechanics with quality of life improvements
The game is already great and if butterlord is any of that it'll be even better

hopefully none in the base gayme

Pop Eh? I could never get past certain groups like how would I take out those big murder stacks of 1k dudes? And the Demons?

Also making your own knighthood seems super strong.

Just reinstalling now I want to beat one of those. Last time I only made it to the point where I had top tier gear like ruined axe and noldor gear. Is PoP on steam?

i have maxed out right to rule and most of their vassals like me. i also have quite a bit of honor.
They're currently at war with every single other kingdom except the fierdsvain which got wiped out (and that's also why my kingdom is probably going to be peaceful for long, nobody will want to get back the land of theirs i claimed).
Currently i'm improving my cities and villages while also stockpiling cash and low price to performance ratio troops, and also trying to make long living militias by giving them really good troops and hoping they live constantly increasing their numbers by recruiting prisoners
pic related, it's me

if you grind enough i'm sure you'll eventually be able to carry enough highly trained troops that can beat them but otherwise you're meant to either be a king or a very likable vassal and then make others follow you in aid

Hmm. Any tips for starting out? What kingdom has the best basic troop? I was thinking nords again so I can get that sweet Ruined axe.

When will this meme die?

Sandniggers are still niggers

Unless the translation is pozzed and despite racemixing, he was apparently an actual nigger. But again, what would some dutchman consider to be dark or black may not be the same as us.

Almost everyone slightly swarthy wuz kangs if you interpret "black" as nigger in medieval texts.

wall of text incoming

Personally i have a liking for the slavs (vaegirs). they should be the most begineer friendly faction since their trait is lots of health/armor and they have great archers, plus while their top infantry soldiers aren't very skilled and don't deal lots of damage they still have plenty of armor and health. Their cavalry doesn't have anything in special in terms of damage and the sarleon cavalry has more armor anyway.
D'shar principalities has shitty/average troops overall except they have a few extremely good infantry that take copious amounts of grind to obtain and they have the best light cavalry, their archers are actually pretty bad but their redeeming quality is that their bows/arrows are very good
Baccus empire is overall average except for their crossbow archers that are also very good, they are also a more tactics based faction since instead of throwing bodies at the enemy they have several different types of troops that serve different purposes and only work well when properly commanded. Their cavalry is pretty bad and incomplete (if you read the game's lore you can see it says having a horse there is expensive and more about social status)
Kingdom of sarleon has the best anti cavalry infantry soldiers (but their infantry is extremely bad against other infantry, okay archers and the best (heavy) cavalry
Fierdsvain has the best offensive infantry (shit defenses though), serviceable archers and no real cavalry save for the lady valkyries who are really just okay heavy infantry riding a light horse
There's an extra faction, the kingdom of pendor. It only exists if you choose old pendor culture once you create your own kingdom but you can get their troops without that by rescuing farmers and training them, their qualities are being extremely cheap and easy to level up except all their troops aren't very good (but for their price the best deal). They also have the most orders that can train from their soldiers so that's how you get the better pendor troops

Some tips:
Pendor's qualities I talked about should provide you with good starter troops,
Faction traits also apply to gear, if you want a good heavy horse you should travel to a sarleon town and buy one there, if you want a good bow and arrow go to the d'shar, if you want good heavy armor go to the vaegirs
Throwing weapons are shit, only use them if you plan to have multiple melee types available and you still want to be able to do ranged combat
As soon as you have the cash always buy a productive enterprise, and make sure you see which one is the most profitable before you get it. I found that how profitable they are does change but not a lot, and that if you buy the same enterprise over and over they might compete with each other and lower your overall profit
Slave trade gets you lots of cash
I really recommend you get your own kingdom, at first you'll be alone and potentially have a much more powerful enemy but just the fact that you actually own the place nets you lots of benefits (such as increased monthly profit from land you own). People normally become vassals planning to leave the kingdom after for self benefit but it's better to become a mercenary since it pays very well and you don't have land to protect and take care of

Also here's me in game, i originally planned to be a sandnigger but once i saw how long it takes to get their good troops i just made my own kingdom

Wow Pop is really good tons of new stuff added.

if its minor faction:
at first you hope you get lucky while a kingdom has currently a marshal on the stack
then you get marshal and steer your own murder stack of dudes into it
by the endgame you´ll be able to take out Wolfbode with only your own army if you play your cards right

if faction stack:
same as above

1) as soon as you´re at 120+ troop cap, load up with the best units you can find and go to noldor forest to bait a small ranger patrol
wait for them to catch up with you, autoresolve
infinite money
2) dont waste your first qualis gems on a rune weapon before you´re realistically and reliably able to engage doomstacks of your own accord, as in controlled engagement with a chance of winning
TL;DR dont get rune weapons until you´re in the position of becoming marshal
get 3 elexirs instead, together its 6 points in every stat but INT so you can spend your own lvlup attributes better, Im at 37 STR right now and while the extra health is nice, Id rather have known about the elixirs earlier so I can plan out my build more efficiently
3) if you only want ONE rune weapon, get the Ruby 2H Sword, its the most versatile weapon, and the ruby enchantment gives you the maximum FUCK YOU you expect from the rune weapons in general
the best duelling weapon is the Ruby Axe, massive damage, okay speed, guaranteed to break shields in one hit
the best weapon on foot is the glaive, saphhire is overall better in sieges, ruby has more FUCK YOU
the best rune weapon on the horse is the 2H, I prefer emerald, but strictly on horse sapphire is better because speed multiplier takes care of OHKO anyway
the 1h sword sucks, ignore it
the bow is objectively better as sapphire, UNLESS you go full mongol or only use it for sieges, then over short distances ruby is better

Ravenstern has best archers, worst melee. Decent horsemen.
Fierdsvain has best melee, worst everything else. Its cav is locked behind nobles.
D´shar and Sarleon have both good anti-cav infantry. Sarleons cav is better. Noble cav is best.
Empire has second-to-best range and good shock melee.
Pendor has cheap and dirty common troops and the best noble troops.

personally I prefer Ravenstern before and Pendor after becoming king because I rely heavily on archers

right now Ive got a custom knight order going thats essentially super heavy archers that double as anti-cav

Ravenstern is not-englishmen m8

wait are they slavs or not? also fug i forgot their name on pop is ravenstern

they´re a mixture of slavs and english, but its mostly english

I though they have some schottish vibe with the kilts and all

they´ve got scottish swag, british longbows, slav kvass and snow

anybody play Silverstag? What would you recommend? I've been away from the modding scene since 1866 was released way back in the day. Would you recommend Silverstag or PoP? Thanks

Other is extension to vanilla and the other a OC donut steel fantasy total conversion. Play both and see for yourself.

these guys to the front really DO love their jobs

I call this maneuvre the Avendor Blitz

fucking refugees

is it just me or is the fierdsvain always the first to go down? It also doesn't make a lot of sense since most of their troops have high autocalc win ratio

Fierdsvain suck because their cav has low damage ceiling.

Do you think it would possible to do a game of PoP using only crossbowmen? Empire faction, mercenaries, CKO all together. I thought it may be possible if I have a large enough army with high enough leadership and tactics.

My current CKO is technically archers.
They hold off parties triple their size.

Aside from that siege crossbows are pretty easy to get, its one of the first weapons that make them effective since your CKO is pretty useless before you train it.

God dammit, and ive been playing as the byzantines for a week, had fun, just fuck my shit up.

Somebody help me
This is what I get for picking on a disappearing faction.
Should I start a war to reclaim old swadian clay or something? How do I fix this I can't keep this going on much longer.

Nigger, you are just as dumb as the Sarranids

your first and last mistake

IT'S NOT LIKE I WANTED TO CAPTURE THE ENTIRE MAP ANYWAY

Anyone ever tried Sands of Faith? I want to DEUS VULT some sand negros. is it better than AD1257?

What the fuck.

It's not like they were doing a good job at not getting chewed up by everyone else. No more feasts for them. Now I just want to unite all those periferal provinces into something.

peripheral, my dude.

How the fuck even

see my other post
their kingdom is practically invincible since whenever they attack something the castle/town instantly surrenders and if anyone dares to attack they have 0 chance. It doesn't help that the khan is bloodthirsty as fuck and starts war for no reason with everyone, and other kingdoms also declare war with him since they're worried about their power

Which color are you?

Like nigga. Buy some armor.

NO SKINS!!!!

red

I kind of don't want to piss the Nords off right now, but manually defending each colony from raiding is gonna be a pain in the ass whenever I start another war.

Capture Tihr or some other towns in the edges of the map until you get a chance to rebel.

You only have castles. That's bad.
You need a town.
Territory you can't defend and hold is a territory you should even try to hold.

Have you declared your own kingdom, or are you still with Swadia?

No, no. I was never with Swadia, that's my own kingdom. I TOOK those castles from Swadia, and the one next to the vaegirs came to me with a vassal.
The thing is the Nords were faster and took the cities while I was busy decimating their armies and now I can't get them without starting a war with Ragnar.
Swadia is no more since I took Kelredan.

Thats an easy one
Put a troop together that has a 40% ravenstern ranger ratio, then go blitz their shit to keep them occupied. The marshal will try to stop you from sieging, and the king will follow him. While they´re busy recapturing all their lost territory, hunt the king while the mercs lag behind, and capture his ass. While their king in imprisoned, the mercs will just chill where they last stood and dont do anything.

Just dont eleminate the kingdom before the merc bleeds down to at least half of that, as the merc will go minor faction and hunt your ass. Alternatively just marshall together your entire kingdoms army and attack him once or twice until you cut him to size.
Field only top-tier anti-cav infantry mixed with huscarls and berserkers.
You will need multiple assaults with your entire kingdom´s lords but eventually you can remove the kebab.

I'm currently snowballing my own army
this is the biggest one so far but not in the pic is also 2 bands of errant knights that patrol around my town, one with 320~ soldiers and the other with about 100
i also have about 4 other militias varying from 80 to 200 soldiers
furthermore i purposefully got my peasants in battles so i can save them and inject more troops, every single town i have regularly sends out bands of 100 "farmers" who are really just some 20 farmers and the rest pendor armored archers and mixed types of cavalry

what the fuck why did my picture not appear

here's a pic of another one. they've been quite successful and growing on their own

Wait whats wrong with your font?
Is that on my end or on your end?

Turn off autoexposure nigger.

You should just concentrate on getting a town and give up those castles. Yalen is pretty good.

what is going on

And your game doesn't crash?

rip GPU

its a feature ;^)

wow

Well, thanks, that looks better.

I guess so.
I also guess my vassals are going to be pissed when they lose all their land but it's not like they were helping with anything anyways.

Nigga keep only a couple of vassals at 300+ troops. How many fiefs they have affects their army size.

Currently I have 5 vassals all at 250-350 mark and thats better than 12 50-100s

...

poor little white guy

BANNNNNNNNNERRRRRRRRRRRRRLOOOORRRRRRRDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN

Personally, I turn off the crest display above units.. More imersive that way

unless they've got tabards with your crest on it, it can get very confusing

That's what makes it immersive.

And it's not an issue if you know your army composition.
Since my army is a mix of mix CKO and other KO's + noldor, it's hard to get confused.

Was playing Silverstag but got tired of its "money = tweeps" and alliance locked units even after you could get hands of a freed one (thus making him a homegrown unit maker)
It has a bunch of really good stuff but the unit system fucks it up, trainer skill got shafted and can't grow no men

Is Floris any good? or can i get a Silverstag with an unfucked unit system?

Also Butterlord when

floris is outdated, it's gonna have bugs
native expansion works

Floris is decent but I wouldn't compare it to Silverstag too much

...

...

i constantly heard warnings about them being near my territory, too. They probably couldn't do anything since i managed to snowball errant knights/militias/villagers to the point where just a single of them could beat me with my 216 slots filled with top tier infantry

I'm convinced that Bannerlord is a never ever game at this point.

Isn't TW Turkish? I imagine all of their effort is going into not getting blown to kingdom fuck at this point.

there's no war being fought in turkey retard, turkey is invading assad

Have they fixed the voice acting yet?
I couldn't really stand the faction of Sean Connery impersonations and I remember a fair few serial-killer-esque performances of male devs trying to speak like fair maidens.

Stop looking forward to it.
Looking forward to it is what will make it shit.

Nope. You still have to listen to all of it unless you turn it off.

The coup d etat was near their offices IRC
Then again that was months ago, but theres a social war on Turkey right now, bunch of drastic moves in all gov sectors

lmao fuck off

what are all the commie groups

Fixed

How is the Last Days? I'm thinking about trying it and playing a Dalishman, bushwhacking goblins & Easterlings incessantly with longbow troops. Is the core gameplay good if one doesn't mind players being bound to the almost-book-plot dependent siege dynamics?

having more voice acting is nice but i just want my companions to shut the fuck up, i already heard for the thousandth time a lord will bluster but not come up with the gold.

Turkey moved into Syria not too long ago to "attack ISIS forces" and by pure coincidence fairly soon after that the US attacked Assad's forces so ISIS could advance, which is made even more obvious by their statement to the media where they talked for under a minute about how it was an accident and then spent the next ten minutes talking about how he probably deserved it anyway.

I think it's excellent. The radical shift from normal gameplay is a plus for me for faithfulness to source material and variety's sake. Remember to use the "nightly" patches that are still being developed and not the buggy two year old official release.

tldmod.github.io/

burgers really need to purge the kikes in their country

So I have gotten into this is a big way but hate missing tournaments as they are a great way to make money early on.
Is there a mod that will give me an alert when there is a tournament on?

So I got bored with vanilla, WH, floris and Game of Trolles is shit. What should I play?

I wish Bannerlord would feature proper jousting mechanics, though considering the time period that is unlikely, since that was more a thing in the high middle ages.

Gekokujo, likely one of the most polished mods around, with great assets and music and a novel approach to combat that eschews the use of shields.

you don't need that, just go to the nearest town, enter the arena and ask the npc there

I feel I should have continued to not pay attention to the potrait.

dude's popping a decent tent

A shame. So much effort into that mod and they can't be bothered to ask for a few volunteers and/or use a non-toaster microphone.

The devs are just being contrarian at this point with their "vision"

Why are so many modders such attention whoring drama queens?

normally when someone does it for free they at least try to feel like they're getting something, with janitors it comes to having the power to shut up people who disagree with them and with modders they attention whore

Who was in the wrong here?

...

kek let her cuck you and see what happens when the heir isn't yours

Also, what mod?

I just installed Anno Domini 1257.
I don't get the lancer system.

Does anyone here know it how and wouldn't mind explaining it to me?

>mfw the Rhodoks are an extremely easy target now

What mod is this?

No one?

"Lance" is a nobleman and his pals (some cavalry and foot levies). Settlements have certain ammount of lances you can choose to drag around with you.

Form their own FAQ

Historically speaking, a Lance was the requirement that a knight or noble was expected to bring with him to campaign. Imagine they are a squad leader, and they are expected to bring a squad with them. This varied from time to time, place to place, but it usually consisted of a couple of men-at-arms/squires, a few archers and some levies (not including the knight/noble themselves). This way the king would know his forces from the knights and noblemen he had within his kingdom, given the lack of consistent censuses involving the peasantry.

Thanks user.
Pretty neato.

Armor looks rad.

I finally got a new pc.

Where can I find a torrent for the version with the best mods available? Last time I played the game was on a shitty laptop that couldn't run most of the good mods.

Not a problem, user.

On a sidenote, police have started wearing chainmail again. Can't wait for DEUS VULT; POLICE EDITION time.

Nigga what mods are free like what the fuck you need a torrent for? Just download them off moddb.

England had their street patrols wearing chainmail since decades ago
Especially in Londonistan

I meant the main game, fam.

Next time drop the 'with the best mods' because it sounds like you're asking for a version with the mods already in it.

Anyway, I haven't torrented anything in like 2 years. I don't even know what sites are not-honeypots anymore. Which version of kat is okay to use?

download.taleworlds.com/mb_warband_setup_1168.exe

Here you go famalam.

don't forget to supersample the shit out of the game m'lord

I never much liked the recruitment system of M&B.

Why can't I take my recruits to a nearby town and get them outfitted with good equipment if I have the money for it? I get they wanted unit variety but it's really silly how it is set up now.

They tried it with PoP once I think
It was terrible

i don't know how to make it work, but having troop skills detached from gear would be pretty cool

It worked by the way of you paying the market price for an item for every single unit you had of that type.
Like if that sword cost you 2k you gonna pay that 2k for every single footman in your army.

well that way everyone would be bankrupt and with poorly equipped troops

the linux version does the windows one doesn't, in fact i never had a crash on the windows one even with heavier mods and situations

Witness my rapestack, ye mighty, and despair

Just downloaded warband again. Which mod would you recommend for a singleplayer campaign?

You just gotta love these little things.

Anno Domini 1257 or Brytenwalda.

Anno Domini 1257, like said
CONSTANTINOPLE AND PALESTINE ARE GERMAN CLAY!
DEUS VULT!

Prophesy of Git Gud

i fear the world might actually run out of lords

The lords you´d want to have wouldnt be indicted anyways.

I usually have to capture and convert lords because they never switch allegience otherwise, and thats those that you want in the first place.

Amazing. Absolutely saved.

I actually just installed Anno Domini recently and it has a great feel to it.
You start out so small.
Slowly but surely you work your company up to something to be reckoned with.
You get that badass armor.
What a great game and what a great mod.

wait a second you can capture and convert? what's the reasoning behind that?

Then you run into 4000+ unit sieges.

burn the heretic

you get them to 36 relation, attack and capture them, then accept oath of fealty
this might be an advanced feature but I wouldnt know since I never played vanilla past the vassal phase

...

Is LAigle officially dead?

0-4: Brytenwalda
5-9: Silverstag

When you start a new game, what are the steps you follow to become OP?

Stop it.

On that note, is there a Cimmeria mod for Mounting Blade?

...

Vanilla tournaments?

those ones always give me a bow and knife so definitely not those
combat for me generally goes "do well enough for myself until more than one person appears and i die extremely quickly/i find out i have an arrow lodged in my eye"

If you can't get good, get a horse, get a lance, and do circles around the arena until there's noone left to couch.

Kebab status: REMOVED
2 to go

Let's fix this.

...

I realize that and I'm sorry.

My nigga, much appreciated.

I import a high-lvl character with 200k gold ;^)

Don't you have a coat of arms? Are you a plebian?

I take back what I said, what kind of nigga don't share a link for the crack as well??????

:^)

If native, choose Sargoth or Reyvadin as your starting location. As soon as you spawn, head north towards Wercheg/Rivacheg respectively, fighting looters as you come across them. AVOID forest / mountain bandits, they eat low level players for breakfast.

Your goal is to fight sea raiders. Not only do they give the best loot of all outlaw classes, but they spawn constantly and in a condensed area, so it's not hard to find them.

They're also the easiest to beat besides looters, despite their decent armor and shields. They don't have as many archers as other outlaws, relying instead on throwing axes & javelins. So just circle them on your horse until they expend their throwables, then pick them off one by one.

When you spawn on the field, don't charge in. Wait for them to come to you. This will put distance between the fighters and archers, allowing you to gallop past the angry mob throwing axes and javvies at you to cut down the few archers in the back, letting you focus on the infantry.

If you suck at the game and keep getting taken down by the sea raiders, your other options is to stick to farming on looters, which is for babies, or sit your butt in a city and fight in the arena over and over, which is effective, if not boring, and while you get a good amount of gold for winning, it's not as much as selling sea raider loot.

Sea raiders are also the best way to equip your companions for cheap, at least armor wise.

RIP
Good thing I can play CK2 instead, r-right?

...

...

What do I spend all my dosh on?

Save it for food and and hiring / paying / upgrading troops later. Only thing you should buy for yourself is a new mount, since the one you start with is shitty.

Cool, one more question. How do I become king?

I'm going to need a academically reliable source on all of those statements

Source: none. Don't need a source to say the Eskimos ate literally anything warm, they still do eat literally anything warm to this day.

Not him but you pick vassals who like your kin, that is people with low honour or good honour
The ones who like good guys will get relationship boosts from you, that is if you have 30 honour, they will have 10+ in your relationship with them, if you have 60, 20+
When you befriend them even more, while conquering a castle or 2 (even a town like i did: see recently besieged town, wait for the aggresors to live, siege the poor folks with their 50 garrison, and throw all your men, 150 at least, into it), then you will have the option to lure them, this would be easy by now, especially with a 35+ relationship + good guy + he hates his liege

When you have 4 you can do a mess, if you have 8 then you can kick shit hard
That would be a good king with power, if you want to be ANY king, then just grab/siege a castle or a town, immediatly after winning you will get popup windows saying uz a kang n shet, name your kingdom, etc

Barbarians aren't retarded just for being barbarians though.

Mongols used to tenderize jerky with their saddles.
They also invented horse yogurt/liquor.

MACEDONIAN DYNASTY MOD WHEN

Pendor is hard ;^)

So money is no longer an issue and I have 2 feifs and village and a city, a mill, wine press and ale house. I signed up with the Swadians and have almost wiped the Rhodoks out, they have a castle and village left, only its right next to my city so every time I leave the lay seige. I need the Marshell to help take over their castle as they have over 400 troops stationed there, idk how they get the money for them.

Also I love the mechanism for controlling troops.

This guy gets it

It's like listening to fucking deaf retards trying to beatbox, my fucking sides are gone!

whoa I didn't know you would have the same Id days later.

Your ID stays the same in each thread, no matter how old it is. It only changes from thread to thread, newfag.

I knew it changed from thread to thread, didnt know it would stay the same days later because I'm posting from work but I usually just lurk and rarely post, I've been here for years I just never noticed, or just forgot.

After all this time, i'm still extremely disappointed enemy hits can clip between their peers
I was defeated in the most jew way and it seems i didn't save in 50 days
Sea Raider blood will flow all over Vaegiria

Fucking turk coding

...

WHY

How the fuck is this shit supposed to work?

I'm pretty sure that Warband on PC has controller support?

Combat would be fine with dual sticks but navigating the map would be a cunt.

Don't listen to this faggot.
Don't go after a castle. Before you start a kingdom, you need to prepare.

Works as a merc and do quests. Find out who the good lords are by asking people (court ladies are best source of info on lords). Lord with martial or honorable reputation are best.
Write down their names, keep working for them.
Keep an eye out for the log messages. If one of such lords gets captured, go to their family. They will have a rescue quest. When you break the lord out of jail, you'll get relation boost with him and his family.

Gather money, gather honor, gather right to rule. You want to have good Right to Rule before you start your kingdom.

I usually work for 2 months for a faction to befriend the best lords, then switch until I have some friends among at least 3 factions.

When you amass money and honor and RtR, now it's time for your kingdom.
There's two ways to do it:
1) Just take a castle/town and declare yourself king
2) Become a vassal and rebel when the king refuses to give you a castle/town you conquered

The second option is better, since you have the backing of a faction as you expand "your" territory, and your kingdom is bigger. I had a town and 4 castles + some villages before the king finally refused to give me more.

this, towns are so much more useful and can do so much more

i don't see how, i always wanted to have analog map movement.

I just hope that it will flop hard and they'll never consider consoles again.

So you are thinking one stick for movement and the other for moving the view?
That would work but you would still want a way of clicking on a town / party and being able to fast travel there.

Pendor status: Made Great Again

As an afterthought, once you figure out most of the unuque game mechanics, the ground was not NEARLY hard enough.

The only thing thats left to get a win screen is to mop up the remaining doomstacks which is a breeze since Ive got 6000 worth of marshalled troops on a bad day.

10/10 would play again

What kid of retardy non-sense did you expect
The rest are the same fluff, except you did mention a crucial point i ignored, being a vassal and conquering towns free of any heat
Right to Rule is useless when you have firepower

also check out my harem of viking sluts

Ragnar Lodcock.

Viking woman a best.

Who here /vikingconquest/?

I'd rather check those trips

yeah i'm thinking left stick moves your party, right stick moves the map camera, you press square to recenter the map at your party, X works as clicking another party (and there will be a crossair on the map that you can hide/show) and so on

Fuck everyone who isn't honourable. I usually keep them in my castle without talking to them until I grow strong enough, then I tell them all to fuck off. No bickering in my kingdom.

What even

...

step it up

A doomstack can only be at one place at one time.
Being at war with everyone because of your shit RtR is bad, since you're gonna get gang-banged. You can't defend everything so you'll end up with every village burnt

does PoP include the mod that let you work as a soldier in a lord's army? i remember it had a bug where leaving/rejoining a lord's army would just case you to keep getting better rep with him

Here's hoping someone makes a dedicated harem mod for Bannerlord.

what does the bakumatsu submod for gekokujo even do

amazons if you must

A harem of amazons is fine too.

Actually, now I want a mod that has a tribe of powerful amazons on the map that you can conquer and make submit to your dick.

Perisno has an amazon minor faction and others with pretty women models and skimpy armor, Devs did remove the ability to marry the two princesses though. Phosphor is a somewhat outdated mod of Perisno that adds Rigale and drow/giants factions, just avoid hiring any wizards they deal more friendly fire than not.

Yup, that's the modding scene I know and loathe, cucks as far as the eye can see.

Hopefully Bannerlord will allow mixing and matching so when we finally cobble together a Rance mod we can plug it into any and all settings the cook up.

the only reason why I post that is to trigger /fit/

I just wish I could impregnate them and make my own lineage while I get old and continue my dynasty.

They also removed a quest that gives you a drake mount because they couldn't be assed to fix it.
Why are so many modders cuckish, or is that only the vocal ones?

because modding warband is a pain
t. this image exists because i'm shit at moddeling/texturing

At least TW seem to have learned from their errors and figured that modding is what keeps the game alive and made it popular, since they switched to a completely modular architecture and the use of C#, on top of giving the community their own dev tools for map creation and asset customization.

i can't even make a new map since the only working map editor for warband doesn't show any text when i run it
and the only alternative is to manually make a map mesh in blender or whatever
on the other hand, at least you don't have to waste time skinning models, just make the model in the correct position, put it in the game files and copy the rigging from another model

I really want this, Grand Strats have been doing this for years and it works well.

If you have multiple heirs you write a will dividing your holdings and pick which one you want to play as. It could also be used to start claim disputes because if you totally fuck over a heir they could try and raise an army against you.

No freelancer is not included, and so is diplomacy.
The mod predates both and has its own shit that conflicts with those.

Mmm, yes, i take it back, while i can defend the 8-man gangbang team, i forgot completely about explaining its reasoning
The 2 times i have done the castle taking, it has been in locations where: there's nothing, locked geographically, can horde troops
The Joy Boys would gather here and mess little by little while 2 lords check the castle
It can work but i had tunnelvision, i only thought about it with a very specific case, which is Nelag Castle, between the mountains of Khergites and Vaegirs, with no big place near it.
I also took Curaw from the Sarranids, but i had the luck to defend it with 200+ and they not coming back due to getting scrubbed in Rivacheg

But burned villages is no biggie, but i can see the problem with this tactic in, say, middle of Swadia, near Dhririm would be a big mess due to being in the middle of everywhere

your Serf Slayers are bretty gud.
