Actually I forgot one, if you're up for the autism and shit community you can try Dota 2. Very few heroes have much in the way of healing and fewer still are dedicated healers. But if you want to be someone's little bitch and follow them around the whole game play Io. Warning: only play Io with a person you know really well and are voice chatting with because you need a ton of coordination to use the ult effectively. If you are a mad crazy genius though you can probably get away with randoms and even no voice chat if you're good with pings and fast typing.

Alternative semi tulsaehs include Dazzle, Witch Doctor, Agh's pugna, or anyone with an Urn of Shadows or Guardian Greaves.

Pretty much in any RPG you can let your healer be a female

PSO was pretty good, because everybody (except robots) had some level of self-heal spells (and everyone could use healing items which dropped all the time)… and since it was action oriented, taking damage was kind of YOUR OWN FUCKING FAULT TO BEGIN WITH anyhow.

Still, it was fairly hilarious since Sega made no differenciation between Nuking and Healing roles - and simply had all their Mages Forces cast all the spells Techs, with varying levels of proficiency - though all competently. So you had people who wanted to play like a Black Mage getting harassed by tanks for not pulling double-duty as a White Mage - and it made for some pretty salty players, which was fun.

For my part, I played a Melee FOnewearl which was about as close as you could come to a glass canon in that game more like a glass 9mm. Properly built, you could dish out damage comparable to a Hunter Tank about 25 levels lower than yourself - and since the highest difficult range lasted from lvl 80 and carried you to 200, there was plenty of room for build variance. But to be competent, I had to lean heavily on Buffs/Debuffs and heals - and having her in the center of the action throwing elbows with the tanks meant the range on those spells techs always tagged pretty much every enemy and ally in the room because the DC wasn't powerful enough for wide open spaces much bigger than the range of a lvl 30 Resta. So not only was my support top-notch (because it had to be just for my own build to be viable), I could also throw out nukes strategically (like RaFoie on Del Rol to take advantage of multiple hitboxes) and RaBarta to freeze annoying enemies in place (with about a 25% success rate per cast).

Except that while everyone had access to some level of healing spells, only Forces had access to effective healing spells. HUmar/RAmar were capped at lvl 15 Resta heal - which took about 5 or 6 casts in a row to completely refill your health bar. HUnewearl/RAmarl had access to lvl 20 Resta and could ghetto heal in a pinch, but it still took 2-3 castings. The ranges were also significantly lower at those levels - which required the entire party to stop, gather around, and wait in place while someone healed. Which nobody ever did - especially in a game where rare drops and XP were first come, first serve - so everybody wanted to be first out there killing the most enemies. Another advantage of being a Melee FOnewearl, since it put me right in the hot-zone for rare drops before they could all be claimed by other players.

Only FOs had access to lvl 30 Resta - with a decent range that could cover most whole rooms - and fill up the entire HP bar in one casting.

Healing as anything other than a Force wasn't really a viable option for an effective party.

Overwatch is good whether you want to admit it or not.

It's mechanics are shallow in comparison to every multiplayer shooter released before 2007.

There is no universal advanced movement mechanics. The heroes that do have movement mechanics are very rigidly locked in them and unable to perform crazy high skill ceiling stunts that allow them to cross from one corner of the map to the other in seconds and attack from unexpected angles.

Pharah for example has a pseudo rocket jump. But its on a timer and has a predetermined trajectory that is very difficult to manipulate. She can't chain her boosts either and without her jetpack just plummets straight back down. To have any air control you need to use her jetpack which slows her movement in the air down to a crawl and makes her an easy target for everyone.

Junk rat has slightly better air control but his mine is likewise on a timer and can be used only to move a short distance.

The abilities ripped straight out of ASSFAGGOTS have timers to balance their "power" instead of being a core class ability that they can use on demand.

This introduces time management in place of resource management that used to be weapon pickups or ammo/shield/health pickups to the arcade first person shooter genre that is known for high action and high speed.

It slows the gameplay the fuck down as well as dumbing down map design and depth along with potential strategies involving said pickups.

Instead everyone can use anything anytime…every ten to twenty seconds.

This brings us to the most cancerous feature of them all. Press Q to win.

Press Q to win is another ASSFAGGOT mechanic that exists to please normalfags with no skill and short attention span. When it was first introduced to the genre it was a slow building meter that built up as you got kills and when it was full allowed you to perform a super attack that could wipe out an entire team.

This made the flow of combat shit because eveyrone was super defensive to make sure their meter was not lost.

Then they made it so press Q to win did not lose its charge when you die and it only made it worse.

Now retards could charge suicidaly into any situation and as long as they got even one kill out of it they would get some build for their press Q to win.

However the shitters were still not satisfied. Why do we have to get kills? Our team mates keep KS'ing us. So they made it charge from damage dealt instead which meant that shitters did not even need to kill anyone to build up their press Q to win meters.

And even THAT was not enough as the shitters complained even loudly. Why can't healers and tanks get their meter too? And the MOBA developers just gave up and made the meter build up over time instead. You are now literally rewarded with an ability to perform a team wipe with a press of a button from doing nothing.

Another example subduing individual skill are the snipers. Look at Black Widow for example: she requires precision and skill to just function and cant even kill most of her targets with a single shot despite the purpose of a sniper being single target elimination and as a result she is underpowered.

Now look at Hanzo. A sniper that requires no skill or precision who can spam away any chokepoint or area due to the fact that resources like ammo that would usually limit spam have been "streamlined" from the game. He deals as much damage and sometimes even more. And to make the shitters live even easier the developers made the hitboxes on the projectiles the size of phone poles which makes a brain dead class even brain deader and deadlier in combat. And the cherry on the shit sundae is his ricochet shot which he can execute if someone manages to sneak up on him and get a nearly guaranteed kill instead of getting punished for tunnel vision and letting an enemy sneak up on him.

This is what Overwatch is. A shallow piece of shit where individual skill doesn't matter and is actively discouraged by limiting the players options in mobility and offensive strategies by "streamlining".

Games can be won and lost with a blink of an eye as long as one shitter manages to press Q at the correct time even if he could not manage to get a single kill prior to this in the entire game.

One of things I liked about Dota was that a lot of the healers were usually good at being aggressive in some way too. Dazzle could healbomb and superslow people, Omniknight's heal does insane damage early on and repel+ulti are god-tier manmode skills until someone gets diffusal, Io can hit-and-run teleport globally with an ally, Oracle has some of the stupidest burst damage in the game, Pugna pushes like a monster. Even Treant hits much harder than any other hero at level 1 and has a good slow and self/ally invis skill to boot.

That said, I've been digging Awesomenauts for the last couple months because it has the same philosophy about healers. Only a few even have non-self heals, and those that do might not even have it without specific upgrades, and no matter what it's not the only thing they do. Voltar has insane burst despite being the closest thing to a healbitch in the game, Ix can swap allies/enemies and bodyblock attacks with a pseudo phase-shift while having great damage output and burst himself, Yoolip does insane single-target burst and CC while having upgrades to heal allies, Genji combines the most obnoxious parts of Shadow Demon and Chen (without the summons), and Scoop is an LC-style manfighter who can get an upgrade to AoE heal his allies along with himself. It makes a game feel much less like a war of attrition when the healers do more than just heal.

Unless they're new, they hate you and everything you represent. It doesn't matter if you're friends outside of the game, it doesn't matter if you're doing your god-damn job or if you are a complete fuckup. It doesn't matter what game you're playing. None of that matters. Because they hate you. They hate everything about you and justifiably so.
A healer's job is a thankless job. Nobody lauds them for keeping an entire group of brain-dead children alive through an attack that should have killed them. Rather the one person that pulled aggro when he had less than half of his health left will blame them for not being an omniscient superbeing capable to teleporting to his side with a warm blanket and a fresh diaper so that he doesn't shit the bed again. It's the job of the stagehand, wherein they keep things running and make sure the show goes as planned. They don't get top billing, their name isn't even on the board and they are sure that half of the actors don't even know they exist in spite of the fact that it takes all of ten seconds of fucking off to make the show come to a grinding halt. Because god-forbid the actors be able to do more than read lines or even cooperate with them. That's too much effort. The healer should be the one handling all of the paperwork.

And the worst part? The thing that cements every single healer into this disgusted, hate-filled existence, is that unless they get out early, they're stuck. They know that taking on a different role will mean letting some incompetent loser take their place. It wasn't really an anomaly at all. I participated in pubs all the fucking time in Guild Wars and that kind of attitude was pretty consistent. The game had a really great community, I think largely because it wasn't WoW. Low level caps, normalized equipment and skill caps, but with an extreme amount of skillbar customization and requiring good attention and execution during combat. It attracted a different kind of person.

Being a melee class or a range class should be any harder on a bot then being a healing class,except for the fact that as a healer, the bot always knows what its "targets" are doing since they are its party members, while an attack class wont be able to act until an enemy is in range.

There are some points that I would agree with, and some which I think are assumed, but not backed up by evidence

You can use her concussive blast on walls along with air strafing to achieve multiple jumps in one go, Air strafing is actually an important skill to utilize.

The timer resets while a mine is on the ground allowing him to jump twice, once while in mid air to perform normally impossible jumps.

Are you implying cooldowns are explicitly an ASSFAGGOTS thing? Surely you are joking, It's used as a balancer in mmorpgs, rpgs, actually just a lot of games that use abilities. Use cooldowns combined with something extra, like mana. Or are you implying its the abilities themselves which are ripped and the cooldowns is a seperate issue? Because they work quite a lot differently due to the dimensions of the game being different to that of a top down grinding simulator.
