I have an idea so crazy it might just work.

When 4chan goes down and the faggots flood over here, what do you think about shutting this place down for a couple of days? Maybe just one or two would do it I think. With any luck the cancer leaving 4chan won't have the patience to wait around 8ch for it to come back up and will go elsewhere (like reddit where they belong) or will hang around 4chan until it comes back up again or they find a new board to infest.
One or two days will be long enough for them to find and get settled in to a new place but not so long that it will make our current user base leave in any significant number before it comes back. Granted anyone that can't wait two days will most likely be the kind of person that baits for (You)s all day and doesn't contribute anything of value anyway. Putting a link to the video games reddit page while this place is down might help divert some of the traffic away from here too.

I was recently banned by Lime for being in a discussion which was not vidya, because a conversation had gradually drifted off topic. Additionally, the person who actually brought up the new topic that we were discussing received no penalty whatsoever.

I shouldn't have to explain why it's retarded as hell to punish people for drifting off topic, but even if that was the norm, a ban is extra retarded as a penalty for it, when warnings exist. If I was chronically shitposting, it'd be one thing, but even a glance at my post history would have shown that I put effort into making sure that I make posts which contribute to the health of the board.
