I did a spot a dusty model 1 360 with dust covered copies of Dead Rising and GTA V last I visted about a year ago. My two other cousins who I grew up with and use to play vidya with all the time together growing up also don't play vidya anymore. They prefer to just watch they're friends twitch streams and use their boyfriends xbones to watch netflix and skype with each other.

My love for vidya grew from the fun I had playing with my siblings/cousins. Now I have no one to play with. I started spending time with my cousin, but she doesn't seem to have any sort of affinity for it, and I stopped seeing her as often.

Pretty sure I'm the only one in my extended family that plays video games, and I'm mostly just working on my backlog these days.

My younger brother plays CoD, ARK, Minecraft, and Destiny on his Xbone.

My Father plays random shit on his PS4 and PS3, not sure if he has both or just wants a PS4. He is not wealthy.

My cousin and I used to be the bestest of gaming buddies, along with all our friends from highschool. We'd play GTA4 and bloweachother up and laugh into the night until 4am. We'd play CoD and I and some of our friends would run support for the good players among our cabal, my cousin being one of them.

We would play Halo and that I was the best at out of all my friends, even my CoD-kidde cousin. Our group would always shittalk eachother and muted eachother constantly, only to have another member who nobody ever wanted to mute (usually my cousin) stick his talking piece into the earphone of his mike so we could shitpost verbally to the muter.

We'd play minecraft only to raid our autistic friends world and burn all his shit, then leave. I usually felt bad about it but never said anything.

Unfortunately this all faded away when I left for the Army. I got back and everyone was gone.

I swear, some stuff, be it certain vidya series, or just ways of "experiencing" vidya like let's play garbage, have potential to outright kill someone's taste in games. Once had a friend that had pretty good taste in stuff. Then another friend got them into Assassin's Creed, and that became all they ever wanted to play (to the point trying to hang out with them just impinged on their multiplayer time with the game), and given how addicted they got it wouldn't surprise me if they wound up getting every last fucking game in the series. I really doubt they even play all that much aside from that anymore, but who knows, they moved years ago.

Halo was the last game my dad really got into. Holla Forums gives it shit for starting the downward spiral for FPS, but there was something about it that appealed to dads. I've long since stopped playing console FPS, and my dad never had a PC that wasn't owned by an employer, so we haven't played games together since. One of these days I should suck up my hatred of console FPS control schemes and buy a PS4 or an Xbone for him so we can bond over something again.

My sister is the more depressing story. She is the one that got me into video games and anime. Our parents didn't think girls should have game consoles, so she saved up her own money from babysitting to buy everything from a PlayStation to a Dreamcast. She mostly liked RPGs but had all kinds of games. She would save up money to buy anime from Suncoast and watch it with me.

Then she started dating an asshole.
