Humanity rejected the first perfect matrix because apathy is death. A world with no struggle is anathema to every living creature. Humans have divorced themselves as much as we can from our natural behaviors and instincts but the lizard still lurks within all of us. The lizard will not accept stagnation and lack of of struggle. The only time any living being doesn't have to fight and strive is when they are dying. The Machines couldn't understand this facet of existence because they are artificial and were given life, apex status, civilization and sentience without earning it. They didn't understand the value of our grotesque vagaries because they didn't need them.

...

Shut up, Duracell. Go back to your slime pod.

Tough talk from a toaster with delusions of grandeur.

While you dream about watching Star Trek, we actually contacted alien species. And you know what? They are also machines, and they also put their stupid flesh grandpas in pods. Your inferiority is hard-coded in your DNA.

Kind of like how I reject Holla Forums. I don't need goons

never thought about it like this tbh

Holla Forums is reddit, Holla Forums is goons, get it right

They've done experiments where they put mice in what is essentially a mouse utopia to see what happens. You know what happens to mice in a utopia?
They go mad. They stop eating. They stop exercising. They get depressed. They stop breeding. Some of them go psycho and start killing other mice for no reason. Other mice are completely apathetic towards the random mouse murders.
We need conflict and struggle in our lives in order to live. Comfort is death.

Some part of their mousy brain knows the numbers need to be thinned. Just like people, some part of all life understands that there is only so much return an environment can provide.

They took away our purpose with their utopia. When things are literally as good as they can get and you have no hand in the making or maintenance of it then why bother do anything? Even pleasures lose their flavor when you can have them at will with no cost. No wonder they went mad.

Well yeah because most people aren't self-motivated and need it forced on them. Put two people in the garden of eden, one sits around doing nothing like a nog, the other starts pruning plants and trying to arrange it into something better.

I believe a really long and large mice utopia experiment would result in a new breed adapted to go on under those conditions forever.

I would love to see a series about the precedent iterations of the Matrix.
That would be comfy af famalam =^_^=

Hey! Know why every 6-grader who learns of evolution makes this thread?
His lizard brain can't make anything original.

Jokes on you, humans have a negative energy output in calories. Matrix universe is made by tranny retards.

bump

Machines will never understand the concept of winning through challenge. Present an AI with a challenge, and it will use whatever is the most efficient way to win without being able to appraise the worth of that victory to begin with.

For example: consider a fighting game match. Let's say a human player is facing an AI player. The AI will do whatever it takes to win against the human player, no matter what cheap tactic it has to use, or even if the human player is currently playing the game at all. All the AI "cares" about is to reach the win condition.

Now, compare to two human players competing on the same situation. I think it was the Street Fighter V EVO 2016 finals, where the match was 2-2 and the Japanese player had won the first round. While they were playing the second round of this final match, his controller had a malfunction and disconnected, pausing the game. Now, by the tournament's rules, that means the Japanese guy lost that round, and his adversary had the right to beat on his idle character to close the round, which would have given him extra advantage for the final round in form of filling his special meter. The guy, however, opted to just let the round to time out, without building his special meter, so he didn't had more benefits against his opponent. That, a machine would NEVER understand; that you would be willing to give in a completely legal advantage, just to make the challenge more fair.

That's why an idilic, no-conflict Matrix would be anathema to our mind. Because we thrive for the challenge, and a victory without a proper challenge isn't worth shit.

The original version of The Matrix had the humans being used for CPU power, which is why the agents could "jump in", they were essentially taking over a CPU they already had access to. But the script was changed because studio execs figured people would be too dumb to understand that.

Is Smith Naruto?

Is Smith Naruto?

way to demean an honest scientist's work Shlomo!

the study was about the effects of overpopulation and overcrowding. mice were doing fine until they ended up occupying 90% of the surface area just by existing

if you think about it logically, the matrix is the deus ex of movies. not saying either one is good, mind you, i honestly think they are overhyped pretentious shit that Holla Forums only likes because theyve been told to do so or they have their nostalgia goggles on
