Witcher 3 feels like shit. Is this consoles fault or is CDprojectred incompetent? I mean, the combat in all of their games is trash but in Witcher 3 the controls are so bad I'm fucking damaging my keyboard just trying to climb up a goddamn mountain. What other games could have been good if they weren't shit?

Found the problem.

both

All of them?

id impregnate ciri over and over again.

Geralts got first dibs on that ass user.

lol no

Stop avatarfagging, fucking anime watching degenerate.

he's not avatarfagging retard

you reek of virginity and rotten food on your neckbeard ;)

You guys are into some weird stuff.

And how can I avatarfag when i've only made one post? Just because you cant appreciate the cuteness of mokou is not my fault.

exactly!

he posts the same character image macros across multiple threads, on multiple board, even on multiple sites. Whoever is doing this not only has supreme autism but also uses cuckchan quite frequently. I don't even know what character it is but i bet it's touhou autism

It is the best RPG (Role Playing Game) made since at least the last decade
If you prefer controls that feel like drifting in empty space try the 90s games that just couldn't handle weight in animations because of technical limitations

it's not the same person, it's a variety of people. it's a new meme of sorts.

...

...

The controls in 3 are basically the same as in 2, if you're having issues with them that you didn't with 2 it's likely either your keyboard or your computer.

No way. The writing is good but the rpg mechanics are shit. Most of the skill tree abilities are fucking retarded. There is no reason to even think about choosing most of them like 15 percent slow time when throwing bombs, or any of the general skills.

but they do
If you want more "dialogue options" try Fallout 4 and Dragon age inquistion :)

It's less of an RPG and more of a action story adventure

OP kill yourself already. We get it. Witcher 3 is shit. We get it we get it we get it. You don't have to make this thread every single fucking week, OP. Signalling on an anonymous board is for literal retards.
Could you have at least attempted to make an actual topic instead of some retarded-ass question like this?

Try
fallout 4, again

Nope, it's a role playing action game :^)

surely you mean baldurs gate and planescape torment. Another complaint, the map is full of loot but collecting most of it is pointless and unnecessary. You can complete the game on the hardest difficulty doing nothing but the main quests and a couple side quests. You get some of the best items on the way. Face it, the RPG mechanics in this game are terribly implemented, the controls are shit, the combat is shit, and the world basically says "we want the skyrim audience." Graphics and story are the only good things about Witcher 3.

This, it's basically a movie. It's the MGS4 of witcher.

We have deus ex threads everyday, surely we can learn to hide a witcher 3 thread once a week.

No, I said everyone who plays the game chooses the same abilities because the rest are worthless. Learn to read.

That half assed third segment of the game in Skellige more or less screamed this out, it could have been cut from the game with no real issues

You could also see it in how the plot evolved into a "save the entire world" break from the first two games where the plot impact was much more localized

Jesus Christ ina hand basket, is that some sort of horrific cancer under her breasts or is that supposed to be her ribcage. whoever made this is a fucking retard holy shit.

I think the real problem here is that you don't like video games and don't know how to have fun or make threads that aren't shit.

Every Witcher game ends with ramping up to a nearly cataclysmic event though.
Witcher 1:
Witcher 2:
I'm only maybe halfway through 3 but Witcher games ramping up super fast in the last act is a consistent theme. They're all basically butterfly effect stories, where you see how small actions here and there can build up to earthshattering buttfucks down the line.

Not every thread OP has to conform to some rule to please your autism, I simply got right to the point and if you weren't mentally ill you would realize this thread is for talking about witcher 3, not specifically answering my question. The way threads have to be created in this place so they don't get sage bombed is cringeworthy.

As you're playing the other witcher games it doesn't feel like you're saving anything significant. In Witcher 1 you're basically saving a city from racewars and in 2 you're witnessing Nilfgaard take the North. I don't know the book lore but the world in Witcher feels like it's only a small part of the entire planet. In 3 the world is literally going to end if you don't find Ciri.

Not quite, I'd agree the games do ramp up in the last act consistently, but nothing to the scale of three
In the first game, Temeria is really only under threat and the main goal of the bad guy is to begin a march southwards, but he needs soliders to protect the people on that march to find a warmer land

The second is you trying to clear your name and save Triss more or less, the aspect of it that's the Nilfgaard invasion is running parallel to your goals, you don't really give a shit about it other than making sure your name is clear

In three, the world is ending unless you find Ciri, the third game also got the white frost completely wrong too, the first game is closer in representing what the white frost is rather than what the third game showed.
Also, Radovid literally did nothing wrong

That sentence is at least half right

Radovid did some wrong, he wasn't wrong to try and bust up the lodge and execute the conspirators but the vast majority of the people he actually ended up catching and executing were just random small time mages who had nothing to do with any of it while the ones that did all escape except for sile de tansarville, but that's all on Geralt and not an accomplishment of Radovid at all.

The end result of his big purge is basically just fucking over all his citizens by depriving them of alchemists and minor sorcerers who could make their lives easier and advance the kingdom's tech level while all the people he had reason to execute just go to ground and will pop up to do it all again after everything blows over.

Was the mage lodge like the jewish cabal? I wanted to like Radovid for gasing the kikes but playing as a witcher, you cannot support a guy who is trying to exterminate every magical being.

I'll concede here, but as far as minor sorcerers and the like go, at this point there's been multiple attempts by mages to overthrow the Northern Kings so it makes perfect sense to not let any of them slip away

Radovid is going fucking insane by the end of the second game, mostly from syphilis or at least some sort of STD-related brain rot but also because of his hate boner for Phillipa Eilhart

There's many, MANY things wrong with Witcher 3, but controls? That's blatantly false.

I see you're lucky to rarely see amateur 3d rendered porn

Part of the big problem was how they completely rewrote his character from the first two games going to the third
In the first two games he's portrayed as absolutely ruthless, but he's also fair at the same time with his own sense of honor
The third game tries to portray him as the "mad king"

That's kinda a copout excuse, especially since by the end of two his character really didn't change from one
I would have been fine if they had made it a bit more subtle, but they just didn't

Also the whole Dijkstra vs Radovid thing makes no sense since Phillipa tried to kill him multiple times, if anything Dijkstra would side with Radovid against the mage who killed both his king and tried to kill him

Well, Radovid is supposed to be crazy. They call him the Stern for a reason, and in one of TW1 endings it is mentioned that soon the northern kingdoms will know why.

Philippa tried to kill him by snitching to Radovid. He ran in equal measure from Philippa and Radovid, but he hates Philippa more because they had a thing.

Fun fact: Radovid is 3 years younger than Ciri.

OP wants to fit in

The game feels so bad and before they fixed the turning, it was unplayable.

None of those would cause you to break your keyboard climbing a mountain though.

It isn't the console's fault, TW1 and 2 were legitimately terrible games too.

I love the games despite their problems. 3's biggest problem to me is the story after Kaer Morhen. That really should have been the end of the game, some of your choices from previous games came back here, choices during 3 all built to this big fight. You have it and its awesome, then you keep going.

top cuck, now gb2freech

First time playing through 3. Does it get any better after you reach the royal palace in vizima? The controls i'll try to get used to, but the pacing is a bit rough.

After meeting with the emperor at the palace you get dropped in Velen which is a big ass map with a shitload of little towns all over, and you can meander up to Novigrad where there's a lot of quests to do. The pacing is more or less the same.

No but it picks up after Velen

playing it right now

been enjoying it

granted i started out on death march

its forces you to constantly upgrade your shit and make use of oils and/or signs

i think the main thing i dislike about it is the map markers every where, the "muh cinematic experience and the "your choices matter" meme.

also Blood Baron dindu nuffin.

the worst sin this game committed was the leveling system.

i could deal with tougher reskins of enemies in latter areas of the game like skeliga or where ever those not vikings where. but the shit they pulled with the leveling of enemies where a random drowner will ether be piss easy or literally impossible to damage based on your relative level rather than a drowner being a drowner. but noooooooooooo you gotta kill that one fucker before you get to talk to triss so you better be level 10+, or if you want to help out that blacksmith with his gang problem better get to level 30 first. while you are forced to deal with far "bigger" form a lore standpoint enemies far sooner. griffin no fucking problem drowner in the dungeon better get out the nerf swords. in tw2 leveling was more of a character build where in tw3 its just a fucking grind for more health/ not doing literal jack shit damage to enemies.

and then their was the random damage on the swords + leveling on them rather than having swords have fixed stats and having a few "late game swords" for people with different builds it goes back to hope you find a good drop every few levels or your fucked. its like playing fucking borderlands all over again. finish quest with Le master swordsmith wait a in game week get quest reward its a weaker version of a sword you already have. and they have the balls to restrict levels on items because only a max level witcher knows witch part of this sword is the handle. where in TW2 you had several end game swords swords you could pick up at each act some random drops you could get but you would always have access to SOMETHING DECENT. and then with upgrades you could practically rebuild a sword or stack shit for your build. but instead you get to hawk the ancient sword of skeliga for a handful of orens or better using it for scrap metal

Blood Baron is an asshole who hired a bunch of alcoholic goons to steal everyone's cows and pretend to be a government. He doesn't protect shit, he's a parasite. His bitch wife is a whore. His whole quest line is either reassuring him that cuckoldry is an intellectual fetish or getting him to kill himself.

Holla Forums is that-a-way but seriously, you a prick or someone just shit in your coffee recently?

wow, such royalty, much honor

i think you got lost on the way over from reddit

I got all 3 games for $35 on a steam sale after Witcher 3 won GOTY.
Part way though number 1 I decided to read all the books that were translated at the time and thoroughly enjoyed each one while also taking into account the years that they were originally written.
played Witcher 1 and 2 and then was told you couldn't fuck Ciri in Witcher 3
After that I lost all interest to start number 3.

Yeah the leveling system of 3 is definitely weak as shit. The scaling enemies kind of pisses me off since they already have monster variants that could have been fixed to level ranges, there's already drowners, drowned dead and mucknixers that are all essentially the same creature so they could have just put each one at a different level range. Similarly draconids have basilisks, cocatrices, forktails, etc.

Same for the different weapons, I don't really mind things having level restrictions to keep the difficulty curve stable but it's fucking stupid that a higher rarity armor can have shittier stats than a lower rarity one with a higher level restriction. It also makes crafting the witcher armor sets feel mostly pointless, the only thing keeping me bothering with them is my desire to clear out the quest journal and the fact that I haven't found a Redanian Halberdiers coat with good stats since that piece is stylish as fuck.

What irks me the most though is the talents just don't change enough. Only a handful add new abilities, all the rest just add minor buffs to shit you can already do. A player who puts no points into potions can still make and use all the same shit that a player who puts all their points into uses. A player who puts all their points into signs can still do perfectly acceptable sword damage. From what I recall 2 handled this a whole lot better where without sword talents you were actually noticeably fragile in melee and couldn't even parry, without potion talents you couldn't use many potions at all, and without sign talents your signs were garbage. If they were going to do flat % buffs for so many of the talents they should have made things super weak without them and strong as fuck with them. The fucking crossbow talents add what, 25% damage and 25% increased crit chance with crits disabling monster abilities? If you're going to let the player dump 6-12 levels into the crossbow have it at least deal as much as a fucking light attack.

literally muh dick

literally Holla Forums

get good faggot

It would be cool to see more progression of skills.

Stronger variants of Igni as you level into it
Combos and specials attacks for your swords
Crossbows that arent completely fucking useless

check the ids sperg

end your life fam

Why didn't you just pirate them first to find out if they were good?

Seriously, what the fuck were they thinking with the crossbow? I found like a level 18 one when I was just randomly scouring the countryside at like level 6 or 7 and was super disappointed to see it only had two more damage over the starting one. The thing's damage is so fucking abysmal that literally the only worthwhile use for it is shooting drowners underwater, and that's only because it's the only way to attack underwater and because of that it does instant kills instead of doing normal damage. You can also use it to shoot down flying enemies I guess but on draconids and gryphons the knockdown disable is so short you might as well just do a roll when they dive instead, and on harpies you can just use axii and they'll fall right out of the sky and let you instant kill them.

use a controller is way more easy

This works for 80% of the monsters. To kill any humans just spam heavy attack. The AI is so retarded that almost every encounter has to have 10 enemies.

cyka bylat !

Honestly, I dont find the mouse and keyboard to be bad at all.

Just double tap WASD for those sweet I frame dodges.

This webm isn't entirely accurate, his boss glitched out and didn't go into the other phases he's supposed to have. Those other phases are just him putting up an unbreakable bubble and healing to full while sitting back and waiting for you to kill dogs he summons, which are probably the most obnoxious enemies in the game.

For the half of the fight that is just solo fighting him, it is entirely accurate though. 1 on 1 fights with basically anything but dogs are stupidly easy on every difficulty. This has basically been the case for every game in the series though, combat never was and continued to not be the series strong suit. I don't even know how they could fix it though without going full dark souls or MMO or something and giving enemies big broadcasted area attacks that you had to counter with specific dodges or parries.

You implying that's not an accurate representation of medieval nobility? :^)

Extended and alt ard is even better

And if you tweak the controls so that signs autocast on doubleclicks you're pretty much golden

Maybe they could just make their game where you play as a monster hunter somewhat similar to the enourmously successful franchise of the same name famous for its combat system, or even better they could copy how Dragon's Dogma did it (which is mostly made by the same dudes anyways).

Monster Hunter combat really only works for big monsters though, and the vast majority of enemies in Witcher games are man sized. Fighting small and fast stuff with MH's weighty, calculated attacks sucks balls. Dragon's Dogma's small enemy combat really isn't much different from Witcher's either, fights with bandits and lizardmen is generally just mashing through them. What really makes those games great is all the different damage locations on the big enemies and the effects of damage types and the only thing in Witcher big enough to warrant different damage zones is like the fiend.

they should just get rid of it and turn it into a walking simulator or a VN.

Just because you can mash doesn't mean that's all you should do. Smaller enemies are all about crowd control and knowing their weaknesses (like use fire to burn the wings of harpies). TW does this to some extent but I think that DD's enemies are a far better example of monsters that encourage you to learn about their strengths/weaknesses and making you use creative use of the environment and positioning to deal with crowds.

If they're going to go that route then it might as well be a movie or episodic tv series, which would certainly be an improvement on the game as it is. There's a lot of modern AAA meme games that would benefit from dropping the bullshit and just becoming movies. Most wouldn't necessarily be good movies, but I'm sure they'd make more money and spend less on production costs (assuming that they don't fall for the "big name actor" meme too).

I remember when I first saw trailers for that shitty Seventh Son movie in theaters up until the title card came up I was thinking "no fucking way, they're making a Witcher movie and Jeff Bridges is playing Vesemir?" I think the games work fine as games but I wouldn't be at all against a cheesy blockbuster movie adaptation, hell I even enjoyed the awful polish TV series. Get some mid-level actor like Vin Diesel to play Geralt, he's probably even played the games since he apparently loves RPGs and /tg/ shit and I could totally see him in an awful wig playing gwent.

Off my board nigger

HEY!

Silver Knights are not that degenerate.

They want a woman that is filled with everyone's hopes and dreams.

Well that's a bit of throwback. Next you'll be posting duckroll.

I think the next Witcher game should be set way in the past. Perhaps Vezemir's younger days. Just make the whole game 10 or 15 of Blood and Wine/Hearts of Stone type questlines. Spruce in some of the smaller contracts and we're golden.

I'll race you to it.

that's degenerate user, but I'm sure you weeb degenerate would like that, huh?

There will be another Witcher game, but I thought it was odd they made the three witcher games spinoffs after Geralt and Yen's death and Resurrection of Isle of Avallach.

I wonder if they would just retell the books.

...

...

The Witcher series is about Geralt, Yen and Ciri primarily.

W3EE, nuff said.

I know, but I just thought it was odd that they didn't start retelling the books before making OC fan fiction of the books.

Might have been hard to tell, especially when most of them are about Geralt moving and travelling. Also, the books were done, no need to retell them.

Not going to happen, fam. CDPR has repeatedly stated TW3 GOTY is pretty much it.

What?

Check their forums, basically to sumarise what I saw from CDPR is this:

1) The 14+ free DLC (whatever the number is)
2) the two expansions
3) the patches

makes it pretty like like an EE, in their words. However, I think I wouldn't rule out the possibility of there being a remaster since everyone is doing including glorious nippon.

For the moment, their work is done with the game. Game over.

nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1814/

Was talking about mods.

Is this just like Requiem for Skyrim? 2hard4me?

even better, it's mentioned in books and in TV series that witchers don't use fucking bows and arrows. From lore standpoint it was dumb, from gamemechanics it was as you said worthless.
I actually had a fucking nightmare with underwater drowner hunting™ because you had to wait for geralt to make his dumbfuckingass static, then he can shot minitorpedo from his crossbow to actually kill enemy who was pointless to kill and to be there in very beginning
