Look at this case I just found. This man was denied, and like the case in the OP it's because the judge ruled there was no grounds to believe the man had reason to fear for his life based on race, only because of his "prestige" as a "farmer who took land from the blacks". The judge basically outright states the man has white privilege and is targeted due to that privilege, but that it's simultaneously not because he's white.

Also, very curious that the man's name has been stricken from the record, I wonder how common that is.

This decision sparked international outrage, Ottawa called it a "perverse" decision, and the South African government called it "racist".

I will highlight the interesting portions of this case, follow up with the appeal case where he was ultimately rejected as a refugee, and dump some news articles about how assblasted everyone got that a white man was granted refugee status.
