Why haven't you embraced it yet? are you too afraid to admit its better?

It's more realistic. Not necessarily better. Probably is something we need to get used to as atm we are used to 25 fps and the blur that comes with it.

60 fps only looks weird because filmmakers have been taught their entire lives to shoot in 24 fps so they all have a 24 fps mindset when it comes to pacing and framing. There are ways of making 60fps look good, as a filmmaker, you need to be dynamic with shutter speed. slower shutter speed looks choppy compared to a faster shutter for example, and the brain expects a level of motion blur or chopiness depending on the motion in front of them

60fps also gives you superior temporal resolution, that is to say, you get more frames of faster objects so faster objects look better

It's the Unity engine of frame-rates, although it has some good qualities, it's much too difficult to learn how to use properly and mostly looks like shit when people try it.

Please give some examples.
60FPS is only useful in videogames because people want the game to have as much detali given to them to react to, while films are passive and don't require the lifelike output.

We probably have to wait for a new generation of filmmakers for that to happen.

I'd like to watch a good martial art movie in 60 fps.

Video games can actually be a good example of good visuals at 60fps though. And your logic is retarded. The "Mexican Soap-opera" phenomenon people get when looking at 60fps again, comes from the fact the brain expects a level of motion blur or chopiness depending on the motion in front of it. That can be solved with clever use of shutter speed. Not limiting your fps to 24 fps

Provide examples.

It's not better at all. 4K HDR at 23.97 fps is best

y'all are fools. the human eye can't see more than 24 frames per second.

the only issue with 24p is the 3:2 pulldown on 60hz panels

Years from now I'm sure people will probably be wondering how the hell 60 fps could look weird to anyone.

Everything is better with a high framerate. Only retards are against it.

Games are necessary at 60 FPS because they give you an edge in multiplayer and action games. It looks like ass for visually nice walking sims though.

That ambiguity is better though. In action movies, you'll notice that they fake the action if you look at it frame by frame. If it's filmed at 60 fps, they have to hit each other harder since more detail is shown.

bunmp

I remember this argument when they people where bitching about the hobbit at 48 fps. That would be the "movies fault" though, not the 60 fps.

the hobbit looked like shit

for action movies, no

for movies about cute girls, yes

Who cares human eye cant detect anything higher than 24fps anyway

Because interpolating things from 24fps to a higher fps looks horrendous. Just look at how the motion smoothing options on TVs suck the weight and momentum out of things and causes the picture to stutter when trying to make up new frames.
