I think Google should be hit with an antitrust lawsuit, and its assets repossessed by the Federal Government. In all honesty it should be fully integrated into the LoC, and stripped of all metrics collection. There should also be a law against harvesting and selling user data without paying the user 90% of the profits earned off that user's specific data.

That's not how it works, there is a hard limit of what it's hardware is capable of and the only way to increase it is be adding more server farms or upgrading the hardware. Depending on how they designed it, it'll be so single minded on it's goal anything outside of it will be discarded and ignored.

I wouldn't put too much stock on IQ tests for AIs, at least not yet. While it may prove certain aptitudes on specific functions, the AI would still exhibit savant-like behavior where its useless for anything outside its trained scope. That means it would fail quite badly when introduced to a very unfamiliar environment.

Any test on AI would require testing its ability to exercise thinking behaviors like intuition, creativity and improvisation. So one test could involve giving it a task where you deliberately fail to give it all the exact parts to assemble a specific object; but still can be completed if they jury rig and manipulate other unspecified items in the room by being curious about them. Of course, you'd also need to make sure it doesn't decide to rip apart people, walls, lighting fixtures, everything for spare parts to succeed either (so best to use a virtual environment first). You could then escalate this test by just throwing random shit in the room and tell it to figure out how to build something from it (specific a vague object like a radio), or have it argue that the task is impossible, because even with all the junk a vital component is missing.

I don't think that stage is that far off either (hardware pending though), considering the developments Deepmind has made in July. They implemented a very primitive "imagination" into their AIs. By imagination, I mean it's able to generate projections of what it thinks might happen next in a game based on what it has learned so far. It won't take too much to elaborate on that even further. In that case it's a matter of layering many instances of imaginative projections, so it can cycle through a variety of specific to general predictions based on prior knowledge. You can see the potential considering games for instance have intrinsic properties in all their gameplay. So using specific projections from another game can be applied to quickly learn an entirely new game. Apply that even further in generalization and it'll keep stepping closer to AGI status. A fun time to keep up to tabs on AI developments.

Though back on topic bullshit like Perspective pisses me off and not just because of the censorship. It's because it's truly a lazy implementation and policy for a technology much, much greater in its potential, and amplifies the bias problem they are worried about.
