They have to be constantly paying attention, maintain a close overview of the overall battle in case of new threats or boss activity, and react faster than most other classes. They can't macro a single spell rotation to spam, they have to command and manage all their abilities manually. In longer raids or dungeons they're the soldiers along with the tanks, they can't fuck off for a smoke or electrical fire or erp session during trash pulls, so only dedicated players get far playing healers.

And DPS, while they are not much harder as well, they have to pay attention to what the tank is doing, where the healer is, and what the boss is doing, all while doing their roll of attacking. Ranged is easier as they can just hide in the back and ignore some of what the boss does.

DC Universe Online lets you play as a grumpy, badass sorcerer that travels around the world healing by using magic to alter cause and effect itself and using the souls of dead enemies to heal everyone. Unfortunately, the game's financial model (paywalls for every piece of new content since it went F2P) and community of mouth breathers ruins any fun you might get out of it.
