Are older animes better?

Are older animes better?

depends on how far back you go, late '80s to early 2000s is best

Modern anime is just more diverse. Back then, there were only 5 anime a season and 4 of them were shit.

today there are 20 per season and 19 are shit

yes
>>>/a/

8/a/ is shit so we will use Holla Forums now

Imagine how much of a faggot you have to be to watch that shit on the right. I'd tell you your father's a disappointing in you, but who am I kidding he was probably a bigger faggot than you are. That's why you're so fucked now. Sage for cuckime.

Go back to school ESL-kun

Go back to not reproducing

Go back to not existing

...

...

Anime is what gets you pussy nowadays. Sorry, grandad, guns ain't cool anymore.

No, back then there were 5 shows a season and 4 of them were good or at least watchable. Now there are 50 shows a season and you might find one that is above average if you are lucky.

/a/ is gay.

Fist of the North Star has shitty low-budget animation.

Not if the girls in it are hot tbh.

Theres your problem faggot.

older anime elder god tier master race because recent anime doesn't respect the robot and old school animu had some of the best mecha robots

No. However, there are more good old anime than there are good modern anime. This is because if you add up all of the anime in existence, the amount of anime which is old is much greater than the amount of modern anime. This means that even if modern anime was all good, there would not be more good modern anime than good old anime. As not all modern anime is good, and indeed, most of it is not, this definitely cannot be the case - even if most old anime was also bad.

This is a good thing, however, as it means you can be more selective with what anime you watch. There are lots of good older anime to watch, enough that you can nearly always find something before having to start scraping the bottom of the barrel of modern anime. Indeed, it is quite easy for someone to watch nothing but good anime for the rest of their life. The same can be said for books, television, and film - especially if you draw from multiple sources rather than just one.

In the modern day and age, there is literally no reason to consume shit media. This is why there is such a pressure for remakes and nostalgia-bating shit - to trick people into going out and consuming things that are bad, because it's wrapped in a package that looks nice. Anime, thankfully, does not do this as frequently, because the Japs are more creative than Kikes, even if most of that creativity produces shit. However, some of it is good - which is what makes Japshit true kino in comparison to Kikeshit.

Noirmies happened
back then animu was this niche edgy shit for the cool guys
then those cool guys grew up into lonely neckbeards who kept suporting the industry but while demanding echi, wich then merphed into waifus, wich baited in even more lonely autisti into it until it wasn't either niche nor edgy anymore and everything was overrun with waifus cus sex sells more than violence

In recent years it has. Kino's Journey, CCS, Devilman, Osomatsu-san, Mahoujin Guru Guru

such is the life in the kali yuga.

Except 99% of anime are manga adaptations, albeit it can't be said they are wrapped in a nice package because pretty much every anime is low-budget.

Don't forget Dragon Ball Super, Sailor Moon Crystal, Berserk, Saint Seya, Card Captor Sakura and other revivals of old animes.

Ecchi has been around since at least the 70's or 80's.

Nevermind, you said Card Captor Sakura

...

...

Wow. That is DISGUSTING. Sexist, Homophobic, Fascist, Ignorant crap. It makes me sick. Inhuman. VILE! NO!

There were also multiple Yatterman reboots too

Mahoujin Guru Guru was the best show of its respective season, fuck you.

110% better
hand drawn > computer drawn

Moeslice of life existed then too. It's that back then, localizers and American stations only ever bothered with manime/adventure shonen and Sailor Moon.

It's still 2007?

...

It's so…different

No. Moekino is the thinking man's anime.

Dragon Ball Super has nothing to do with old Dragon Ball

no

Old OVAs and films were better than new OVAs and films. Old anime is very weak than new anime.

Nah, "good" modern anime is only good by modern standards. The best anime of today is mediocre at best if you judge it by 80s standards.

Back then, animus had bigger budgets because they were sold as home video. Nowadays they are made more cheaply for streaming services.

Moe was the best thing to happen to anime.

stop stealing oxygen

yea
and it was hand drawn looked better and had his own style
now they will have to pay shitload of money to hand drawn a movie doing it on computer is probably 50+% cheaper

yes, mainly because all new male mc's are whiny faggots.

The 80s and the 90s were the golden age of anime and anyone who denies that is either retard or a faggot.

Not wanting military & girls

2010 version arguably looks the best

Like this is not even an argument

...

Honestly I started watching anime only recently. Just watched this masterpiece though. I can't believe the power gap between this show and most other shows I've watched. There's a few modern anime that were gripping, but none that just took your soul for a wild ride like this did.

BELIEVE IN THE ME THAT BELIEVES IN YOU

...

No. You.

The 90s one is far more expressive than the 10s one.

Right is better

Sure as hell it's not.

...

Older Anime had more "character" in to them, new ones do resemble east Asians to much, it is also very feminine looking ( as if drawn by girls) with such thin lines.

They're both bland abstractions of the art style of their era's. While there is a lot of generic shit, stylistically interesting variations of the 10's design do exist. Designs seem to be slowly evolving into something like the third pic with the bushy eye lashes. Of course, this is just talking about general moeshit. Modern anime has a great diversity of styles across its genres.

You can look this up on anidb using custom searches, and the results may surprise you. Between the start of 1990 and the end of 1999 (supposedly the best era for tv anime according to most people) there were 450 shows. Between start of 2016 and the end of 2017, there were 392 TV and web series excluding shows tagged with short episodes and non-Japanese shows. If we added Winter 2018 shows on top of those we'd get to nearly 450 shows.

From the 1960s all the way to the mid-to-late 1990s, anime was only shown during day and evening hours for general audiences. In the 1980s otaku started creating niche movies and OVAs which included ecchi and (a ton of) straight up porn, and very often had beautiful girls and young women as the main characters. Modern tv anime is just a continuation of this. The format just changed. Visual novels and dating sims started being made in the 1980s by otaku too, and when they got big enough they started getting turned into anime. This "waifu" stuff was always there and started from the grassroots. Nobody got baited into anything. Mainstream anime also had the same kind of elements.

Anime today is still hand-drawn, and by hand-drawn I mean pencil and paper. Some of it is drawn digitally (with a digital pen), but mostly not.

If you only like cyberpunk, mecha and ultra-violence then yeah I guess older anime is better, but that's no better than saying today's movies are the best because you love superheroes. If anyone said that people would laugh at them and tell them movies are about more than superheroes.

anime is trash all of it

...

You've watched thousands of anime? That's pretty impressive.

nope ive watched two

Yeah, so that's like 5% of the full length shows of the Winter season, or 0,5% of the past two years. It's amazing that you managed to extrapolate so much from so little.
