Anyone else played this? Spotted it yesterday and grabbed it, really impressed with it so far. Combat and essentially anything else that moves or can be moved is influenced by the game's physics engine, this also applies to combat. For example the first level of the dungeon gamemode has a maze with puzzles you can solve that utilize the game's physics. Other than that the combat is really entertaining and it's a great example of a game with armor porn.
You can pirate it with impunity as the devs are indie though none of the newer versions seem to be available and the devs seem cool enough to warrant buying it.
Do you get paid for making this thread multiple times?
Josiah Roberts
It's a good game though, with some of the most realistic melee fighting around, and the plate armors look incredible.
It's also difficult as fuck.
Camden King
Yes, no one ever got in a fight before first getting drunk enough to barely stand.
Lincoln Garcia
Yeah I backed the KS, only KS I ever backed and don't regret it one bit.
Waiting for more content though, I've played like 4 different versions now so I'll wait for full release before playing again.
Jaxson Rodriguez
Are you fucking kidding me mate it's the sloppiest fighting known to man. Brutal, yes, but not realistic and it's really hard to take seriously because of it. Had a fair bit of fun with it though it's not worth buying. Game runs like garbage and the devs are fucking kikes too. The only reason why exanima exists is because they ran out of funding for sui generis and released their half-finished game under a different name.

Looks like the game is at least over a year old, why would anyone shill or at least get paid for something that old?
Really? I was incredibly impressed with how well it ran on my PC. Especially with the half decent lighting and physics. I got 120fps on average and I have maybe a middle of the road system at best.
Samuel Ward
?
Josiah Roberts
you fucking retard, he didn't say anything about the monitor, only the FPS
Jason Cooper
But why would 'only' getting 120 fps matter without the monitor for it?
Landon Howard
I don't understand what you are trying to say, why wouldn't you get 120 even if your monitor is 60hz
Hudson Scott
There have been a few threads about this game before, it could be good. Its still early access though so fuck it
Lincoln Kelly
You can get it of course, but it's pretty much unnoticeable. A 60hz monitor can only refresh 60 times a second so any more frames than that are pretty much wasted. There's a decrease in input latency but that's about it.
Eli Kelly
It's fucking crazy how foreboding the dungeon in this game is. I don't know how they did it, but I always dread trying to do a run. Maybe it's because I can get trashed by zombies if I slip up.
William Flores
Yeah, that much is obvious
Jeremiah Morgan
Sorry user, not yet.
Bentley Rodriguez
The fighting mechanics are sick as fuck and take a lot of practice to master. Fights actually feel dangerous as hell; that avoiding a fight can be an entirely good idea, unlike pretty much any other game. Reminder that anyone complaining about how the controls suck is a DSP-tier pleb.
I'm really hoping Sui Generis turns out to be an actually decent game built around the mechanics they've made.
Angel Wood
The QWOP of melee combat.
Ryan Myers
skill based limb movement algorithms
Brody Miller
is it a full game tough or just some ufinished thing
Nicholas Morris
Literally git gud, m8. Fifteen minutes and you won't have problem with basic movements, fifteen more and you'll be slicing enemies like they were butter. If it wasn't for the exreme scarcity of healing, you'd all notice how easy the game really is
Ryan Jenkins
The only qualm I had with this when I saw it was the lack of environment / enemy variety. Warranted?
Cameron Brown
Gameplay videos make it look slow and shit.
Jonathan Taylor
it is pretty slow, but that's not a bad thing. Killing each enemy takes a while (a long while, if you're shit), but there aren't that many of them in a level. There is a pretty complex system that looks at how fast a weapon hits you, it the part that hit you is pointy or not, how heavy the weapon is, if the part of your body that got hit is protected, and if yes, then how, etc. It then applies some temporary and some permanent damage. In the entire campaign (3 or 4 large levels, IIRC) there are only about 4 healing potions that heal permanent damage, so making a mistake can be very costly. Also, you can put on ridiculous amount of shit on at once. I think I had like four layers of armour on my torso alone, and you had several separate armour cathegories for limbs alone and the like.
Still, it felt more like a tech demo than an actual game. Gotta wait for the dev to finish the thing.
Ethan Sanders
It is slow and shit. I downloaded a version back when this was being shilled like six months back. The game may not be QWOP but it's close enough to not be fun.
What's worse is that the game is a bullshit demo for another kickstarter game the devs couldn't bother to finish and this game is still in early access after more than a year. This game is supposed to be some kind of tech demo bullshit for a game that was successfully funded on kickstarter in 2012. The original game was supposed to be released in 2014 and you can go look at the kickstarter for sui generis and see that it's exactly the same as exanima.
Somebody made this bullshit in 2012 and has been extracting money based on promises since that time. Don't buy this bullshit. It wasn't even worth the time it took me to pirate.
Colton Perez
The best thing about these threads is seeing anons who can't git gud if their life depended on it.
Anthony Collins
The first three levels are more or less the same, levels 4 onwards start to spice things up a bit.
It's still in dev but there's enough content to keep you occupied for a while.
