I felt like giving the game a try again, but I figure I'd ask what kind of mods you guys think are essential. Years ago cuckchan used to have mod collections for STALKER uploaded somewhere, is there anything comparable for NV you know of?
Feel free to argue which DLC is worst, which faction is best and mourn Van Buren never ever being made.
I think I heard somewhere Obsidian making a new Fallout game with Fallout 4's upgraded(?) engine or something like that, is it true?
Austin Martinez
ebin
I think they said they'd like to, but nothing is confirmed.
Jeremiah Roberts
Project Nevada is a must have for New Vegas. It's quite the near overhaul. Also, I recommend browsing the top rated from the nexus since that's where I picked out all my favorite mods from. Just don't forget your auxiliary mods like NVSE and the 4gb vram patch.
Matthew Sanders
Neat overhaul, rather
Dylan Murphy
[current year] Obsidian are absolute cuckolds and they would just jump at the chance to have Zenimax try to kill them again, but I think Zenimax themselves are afraid of being upstaged again like they were with New Vegas
Blake Clark
J. Sawyer posted some random stuff he picked up in New Orleans on his instagram and everybody freaked out when Bethesda trademarked the title Fallout New Orleans.
Who cares anyway, Obsidian is kill, all good writers left.
Jacob Butler
Please do not misappropriate STALKER art for the purposes of advertising a meme game
That piece of shit is in NVEC and it makes the Casinos a surefire way to crash your game.
I'd say for more gun realism Jazzinparis has some good stuff.
Christian Bailey
Never crashed for me. But then again i use the medium version with a few less NPCs so it doesn't conflict with Adult Club New Vegas too much.
Jacob Collins
bruh they probably had to tweet that shit. Not every triple A studio can just go around giving the finger to whoever the hell they want. Not even the people who tried to fuck them. Business is business.
Jeremiah Baker
I think NVEC uses the heaviest version so, and I'm not bright enough to go rooting around and delete actors. Probably already doesn't help I've got so many other things that it kinda chugs at points.
Alexander Hall
Josh Sawyer's mod is pretty neat. It's better than hardcore mode, but you can play both at the same time.
Landon Jones
It gets old listening to YIPEE YAY I'VE GOT NO WEDDING BELLS FOR TODAY over and over again. Don't get me wrong, New Vegas has some great soundtracks. Even so, here:
Mojave Music Radio Extended adds something like 80 tracks to the game. They're all old time/bluegrass/rock tracks that are royalty free and fit the theme pretty well.
Luis Price
Heh… i like those Millenia guy guns and textures. Some gun porn is good for a change. Also mods to give weapons their real life names, because assburguers. And mods for smoking. And that mod for booze and drugs visual effects. And that other that changes med-x to morphine.
Logan Roberts
That song is fucking gold, you hear me?
Yippie yay There'll be no weddin' bells for today
'Cause I got spurs that jingle, jangle, jingle Jingle, jangle As I go ridin' merrily along Jingle, jangle And they sing, "Oh, ain't you glad you're single?" Jingle, jangle And that song ain't so very far from wrong Jingle, jangle
Oh, Lillie Belle Oh, Lillie Belle Oh, Lillie Belle Oh, Lillie Belle Though I may have done some foolin' This is why I never fell
'Cause I got spurs that jingle, jangle, jingle Jingle, jangle As I go ridin' merrily along Jingle, jangle And they sing, "Oh, ain't you glad you're single?" Jingle, jangle And that song ain't so very far from wrong Jingle, jangle
Jace Taylor
This. The JSawyer mod is arguably better than project Nevada. But if you do get Project Nevada, please don't get the extra options like the new cyborg parts since that shit makes the game too easy. Also, I have been meaning to try New Vegas Bounties sometime, does anyone know if it is good?
Hudson Lopez
I got spurrrs with a big ironn on that lone star that had no one to cling to, to be just everything to, to be my own true love, if ya ain't got no money they will go to sleep, just lay down that kick in the head.
Henry Sanders
I tried put New Vegas Bounties but uninstalled after an hour or so because the writing was so shot and the voice acting was cringy. Just felt lit of place with the game.
I would worry too much about quest mods, just go for total conversions if you want more content.
Angel Phillips
Hey, hey, daddy-o. I'm right there with ya. Even so, you've gotta admit, a little variety can't hurt. It's the spice of life, after all. So, whaddya say? Here's lookin' at you, kiddo.
Gavin Cook
Bounties 1 is pretty much just "Go there, kill guy"-Questline but it get's better with 2 and 3..
The best and most notable part about it is that all of Someguys mods share a persistent storyline with tons of variables. NPCs from one Mod will remember and reference decisions you made in a different mod, some of your decisions will get people killed a long time down the storyline etc
Zachary Miller
The best thing PN does is that it makes you able to sprint via AP. If it's not your first run of the game, it does very well to cut through the tedium. That being said, it can also break the game in a bunch of places, especially areas like Dead Money, but that can just be fixed with self control.
James Lewis
You forgot the one that removes invisible barriers, unless it's part of a larger mod. That makes traversing the landscape so much less of a chore.
Josiah Allen
I'd also suggest a few gun mods if that's your thing. I forgot the name, but there is a really goood ammo mod called CaliberX? I think. texture mods and nude mods I found a good FPS mod that lets you see your whole body when you look down and few "lore friendly" radio mods.
Dylan King
Is there a mod to prevent me from auto reloading by trying to shoot when my gun is empty? I just want my rifle to go click click click if i spam it.
Coito Ergo Sum is about opening your own porn studio. It's better than it sounds.
Ryan Powell
I don't understand why you cucks love NV. Sure the dialogue is good, but the gameplay was 80% "scavenge and craft." The bugs are glaring, it crashes so often. The level design is shit, the hills are full of unnecessary invisible walls all around them and the buildings are endless samey looking corridors. The characters except Boone are all annoying shits. Sure the missions are good, it introduced new features and more weapon variation, but other than those it's worse than Fallout 3 in every regard.
Gavin Nelson
I don't think I ever crafted anything that wasn't ammo. Not a single thing.
Julian Bell
Repair tools?
Leo Foster
piss off
Ayden Richardson
Those just fixed your gun though.
Jason Gutierrez
I asked this last thread but forgot the names. What are some good dlc-like mods? Or generally just mods that add new areas with shit to kill.
Benjamin Martinez
Well yeah, they do need fixing.
Blake Thomas
that has nothing to do with your original point though. Fixing the gun could also be done from picking guns up off the people you kill.
Jayden Carter
No, they're too precious to not to be sold.
Hunter Barnes
>Vault Girl makes playing a female character better
Aiden Murphy
Doesn't New Vegas Redesigned 3 also come with its own version of populated casinos? Either way, I'll agree with this user.
If the plot/characters are better, than prove that The Brotherhood of Steel in 3 has more complexities regarding the plot, world, and relationship with the other factions than even a small faction (relatively speaking) like The Followers of the Apocalypse in New Vegas.
Evan Johnson
I found caps really easy to get after you hit New Vegas. Just play a fuck ton of blackjack until you get kicked out and you're rolling in caps.
I can't belive the amount of fun I am having just adding alot of mods to NV. I am in the process of releasing v1.3 of this NV repack. In the mean time. v1.2 ipfs.io/ipfs/QmUxZtepBNkwf4BHVbcUrQcNCnuhgrAJZfFukBV9F6QKrt if you want to know more about IPFS see the share thread. password for both archives should either be archive-name or {around-archive-name}
Joseph Clark

Ryan Fisher
This, really. Bounties 1-3 is essentially just a line of fetchkill quest, but what makes it exceptional is the impact you decisions make on the world and characters and how literally every Someguy-mod is connected thanks to his technique of having one general Masterfile that all of his mods build on.
It's too bad that no other modauthor tried the same approach.
Joshua Ortiz
The gunplay in NV was expecially cozy if you played at hard difficulty with hardcore mode enabled. Any mods to make the gunplay more cozy? Ballistic guns kinda fall behind because it's just more convenient to use all weapons you ever find. I wanna stick to sniper rifles and pistols and be efficient at it.
Ethan Perez
...
Levi Ortiz
I am also playing a sniper for the second time after I realised I messed up aloting S.P.E.C.IA.L. However this tine the scope for the Variant File hasn't dropped yet at about the same.
Kayden Young
I am also playing a sniper for the second time after I realised I messed up aloting S.P.E.C.I.A.L. However this tine the scope for the Variant File hasn't dropped yet at about the same as it dropped previously. Player character is Level 4.
Nicholas Price
I want to hug you, you tasteful motherfucker.
Hunter Davis
retards.
Elijah Martin
While looking around on the nexus for weapons spread related mods (there aren't many), I came across this one.
What this basically does is completely eliminate the randomized weapon spread, leaving weapon sway as the sole reason for missing your shots.
It hasn't been updated in a while though and doesn't make exceptions for shotguns or other multi projectile weapons, which would be overpowered if they had pinpoint accuracy for all projectiles, so I made an edit myself to correct this.
As pointed out in the comments, this mod works really well in combination with Real Recoil, and has made automatic weapons fun to use for the first time ever in New Vegas.
Nolan Thompson
What's the opinion on FOOK2 around here? (FOOK1 was a fucking disaster)
Brandon Scott
That's why it's a fucking chore to replay.
Noah Smith
Fuck me
Carson Rivera
I prefer to just go with minimal mods, comfier that way
Nicholas Sanchez
Not everyone is THAT acoustic.
Jackson Perez
Mission Mojave - Ultimate Edition or Yukichigai Unofficial Patch? GO!
Mason Rogers
Nice find, this is the kind of mod I've been wanting.
Just curious, what did you edit for shotguns? As in, how do they handle with your file?
Christian Robinson
The mod goes through every weapon in the game and sets their spread anywhere between 0.02 and 0.005. What I did was make the mod skip over any weapon that fires multiple projectiles. That's it.
Shotguns have the same random pellet spread as an unmodded game, but the new weapon sway mechanics still apply.
Joshua Lopez
Ah, that's what I was hoping for.
Nicholas Long
Explain.
Anthony Jenkins
so what are the best lewd mods?
Justin Barnes
Hitmans Animations are good if you care about replacing the not-very-good vanilla first person animations. Only problem with it is that some weapons take up way too much screen real estate. The back of the Gauss Rifle stock clips through the screen with this mod installed. nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/61501/? Practice Makes Perfect makes skills level up as you use them. I don't use it for this, though. I use it for it's Level Lists Begone feature which tricks the game into thinking you're just below max level. nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/45604/? Cover Based Stealth just generally makes stealth better. Also can be used to change weapon damage on the fly, instead of having to use a separate mod for it. I play on 200% weapon damage. nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/51777/?

Please respond
Julian Phillips
just toss a coin and let it decide
Henry Torres
Yukichigai. Mission Mojave makes changes to some gameplay elements for no reason, rather than being a straight-up unofficial patch.
Jordan Sanchez
After spending some time with this, I can safely say that most people should not bother downloading it.
Elijah Thompson
My only advice is this: Avoid Mission Mojave like the plague (it's made by hipster faggots and they fucked with a ton of game mechanics for "balance reasons" without even listing them in the changelog, plus it makes a lot of dirty edits that break other mods) also avoid Project Reality, it's a poorly coded piece of shit and will absolutely murder your framerate
Other than that, basic recommendations would include stuff like Integration - Courier's Stash (takes all of the pre-order items and distributes them across the loot tables instead of the game starting you with 100+ lbs of random overpowered shit) YUP (a large bugfix pack that doesn't make faggy hipster changes to game mechanics) and NMC's texture pack. NVEC New Vegas Stutter remover I'm glad I bothered, since it looks like some retards already recommended Mission Mojave
As for modding tools, make sure to get LOOT to help you sort your load order, and you'll need to use FOMM to install any .fomods which means you want to use that instead of shit like NMM
Matthew Foster
Gameplay-wise New Vegas is an improvement from 3 and that's not saying much. Basically the same mediocre experience with better gun-play in the same unstable game engine. Mods can always fix that, however.
Jace Watson
no one?
Ayden Edwards
Any other mods I other mods i should use while playing dust?
Adrian Hughes
Sexout?
Cameron Butler
All I've ended up with is a fucking mess that manages to cling to life.
Jason Rogers
You'll uninstall after an hour or two anyway.
Evan Watson
too much work to get this jury-rigged, It's more likely that I'll just leave it installed forever and touch it once or twice a year.
