Which are good detective games, anons?

Which are good detective games, anons?

I'm playing Sherlock Holmes now and it's been good. But i'm looking for a more gripping story, something darker, horror or suspense.

Just want to get autistic being a detective.

Hugo 2

But this is more like a comedy, right?

You never heard of something called L.A Noire, user? It's fits your specifications exactly as you'd described… Unless you've already played it?

...

I already played it…

And Condemned: Criminal Origins, but it is more like a fighting game.
And Hotel Dusk.

Aviator Attorney

Man, it would be very comfy to play a game where you are a master thief

If you're interested in a flipside approach 'The Deed' is pretty cool.. You have to plan the perfect murder without getting arrested (essentially the classic murder mystery in reverse)..

These days I can't even tell whether that's sarcasm or an actual genuine statement.. Regardless, If not sarcasm, try 'Thief'..?

Non non, user.
Je veux être un voleur et un homme raffiné

We are talking about Arsene Lupin, it must have more class and elegance in the thievery.

Also, thanks for the suggestion. Will take a look.

The Dark Mod is also good.. Groovy, thanks for clearing that up.. I was wondering indeed about ze french language up in here.

Persona 2, the one where you play as a girl.
While main story is detectivey enough, you can take on requests for missing people and search for them all over the city.
It's one of those games where side activities and stories are better than main quest.

...

Je ne comprends pas mon ami ;)

Ah, vraiment? C'est trop mauvais.
Mais, peut-être vous apprenerez français un jour.

Ah, pardonne-moi. Pas "apprenerez", mais "apprendrez".

I like my detectives how I like my porn, amateur.

J'ai verifé ces triples.

REMOVE FROGS

QUITTEZ-NOUS, LES ANGLAIS

People tend to treat Witcher 3 as a detective game, so maybe that.
Otherwise You could try Still life, it features puzzles and female areolas.

I have two recommendations that are very different from each other and likely anything else you've played
It isn't really a game and you don't have any impact on the story, it's just clicking through dialogue with some minigames during class trials. However, the murder mysteries here are incredibly insane and far beyond anything in any book, movie, or game in terms of how ridiculous and tragic they can be. Everything doesn't always make perfect sense (especially the setting), but the characters, rollercoaster plots, and insane murders are all certainly worth any inconsistencies. I despise anime and VNs yet this is one of my top 10 games for sure.
Easily the best murder mystery game, because it doesn't have a scripted story or dialogue which means it's all about the gameplay. The premise is very simple: two teams have to kill everyone on the other team, but the catch is that one team only has about 20% of the players of the other and the smaller team are the only ones that know who is on what team. Everyone in the larger team only knows whether they're a terrorist or a traitor, so they can't just start killing enemies because they don't know who the traitors are. This means that the traitors have to quietly murder terrorists one by one while avoiding blame (or placing it on an innocent terrorist).

However this is of course a multiplayer game in GMOD so most of the community is cancer. Try to play it with friends if you can, but I personally think it's still fun even if everyone you play with is a faggot.

Isn't the premise of this terrorist game the same as Mafia? In which case, EpicMafia seems like a reasonable online replacement, though somewhat less interactive.

Yes and its incredibly linear and i beat it from memory in 20 minutes

If you played Hotel Dusk by chance you might not have played Last Window if you're not a Europe or don't bother with emulation. I'd highly recommend it.

Also Policenauts. It's one of my favorite VN games and is one of the best thing Kojima ever did. It's basically Lethal Weapon in Space. The main characters even look like Mel Gibson and Danny Glover.

Never played Policenauts, but i know that the theme is neat.

It has a pretty good OST. I wish Kojima would go back to making more VN's point and click games or whatever you call them because they're honestly better than anything else he does.

Shitheads like you who refuse to put any legwork in are the reason why there are no good threads on this board.

Thanks for the bump.

Played Snatcher too, user?

Still Life is good in the beginning, but it's a little disappointing after. Like the second Condemned game.

DID SOMEONE SAY FROGS?

Why was his father killed? Where did that Chinese guy go? What is that mirror, and why was it buried under the cherry tree? Does he never change his clothes, or do they all look identical? And where the fuck do sailors hang out anyway?

...

You don't read very much, do you?

What about Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, I remember playing it a little bit a long time ago, can't remember if it was shit or not. It's essentially Sherlock Holmes vs Cthulhu Cult, maybe that will work for your horror needs?

I think they even did a remaster, although I'm not sure what that entails.

Last Window is pretty good, though.

It's trash. So is Snatcher.
anons just don't have any sight anymore, too many goggles ontop of other goggles through which they view everything they ever played in the past

All the Sherlock games are great, but that one was really out there.

I'm actually surprised they haven't adapted Sherlock vs Dracula yet.

This seems interesting. I only finished one game and now i'm playing VS Arsene Lupin, so i'm just a apprentice on Sherlock Holmes games.

Yeah, maybe this is what i'm looking for. Have the atmosphere and the gameplay i like. The voice acting looks bad though. Gonna give a try.

...

How are some of the newer Sherlock Holmes games? I've got The Testament of Sherlock Holmes and Crimes and Punishments sitting on an external drive but I've never gotten around to playing them

They're okay and only okay.

Are the mysteries super transparent or what's not so great about them?

I only played crimes and punishments.
The graphics, voice acting, puzzles/gameplay are fine. Nothing will irk out as "well this sucks too much to continue" or "this puzzle is bullshit".
Its not particularly memorable, pretty or replayable.
It's the okayest game I ever played.

Name a single book with a higher concentration of absolutely ridiculous plot twists. I didn't mean to say that the game has better writing than anything (it can get pretty bad), I was only referring to ridiculous plot twists that are nearly retarded but aren't quite (usually).

Do NOT play Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter. It's not by the same team and is garbage filled with stupid minigames. And it has denuvo on top of it all. I bought it, played an hour and refunded it because it was such a piece of shit.

...

Kara no Shoujo

so you mean hand holding extreme edition? any old adventure game has more hardcore "dectiving" that the movie games garbage mentioned here

Could you please mention some of them? I'm just looking for good games, user.
