in the end you just feel worse than before, because they all end in misery, and if you fight against it, that doesn't really help. At the end of watamoto, after she lost that girl friend of her, if I remember correctly, things just simply stay shit. I recall feeling empty after it, because of not even a promise of dawn at the end.

The difference with these and Spec ops, that spec ops is not slice-of-life, it will probably never happen to 99% of those who played with it. It talks more about how war slowly takes away your sanity, rather than trapping in your mind because of your everyday surroundings. You can run away from your home, scholl, or country, if you cannot live otherwise, but in war, not really.
