If the internet was around during the original Star Wars trilogy

if you don't understand this video honestly I feel sorry for you more than anything
hooktube.com/watch?v=u0JhhQvdIYY

You can embed Hooktube now, moron.

On one hand he's pretty spot on when it comes to plotfag Internet geniuses. On the other it sounds like he defends the pisspoor Disney scripts.

No one will ever watch your hooktube embeds retard. Just click the link you faggot.

I agree entirely and really this only deals with the nitpicks internet reviewers bring up. I thought the film was shit but people acting like we need exposition on Snoke or even the rebels/First Order whatever they're called is retarded, they don't care about what a script looks like as long as it explains everything to them like a toddler.

He's owned by a subsidiary of Disney. It's an advertisement.

How dare fans not kiss Disney ass!

First of all the premise is stupid since there was Usenet back then and some user in a recent thread posted some stuff from there after ESB was released, so technically it was around in a barebones form. Second of all he sounds like a salty Disney shill.

Luke isn't all powerful in the force. He can hardly stack rocks on top of one another before rushing off to fight Vader. No one has ever given a shit about sound in space. Luke and his friends flew ships all the time back home. Hence Han's snide backhand of "it's not like dusting crops back home". Also, pretty sure all those farmers dusting crops came in handy when they needed to fly as airmen in WW2, which is where all the inspiration for the dog fights come from. They also mention in the film how ships can fly faster than light under normal impulse, and hyperspace means you can go from one end to the other in mere days, not years. Not an argument so far as the Bespin fight aftermath goes. Luke had already been left out and hanging in the cold (probably with early onset hypothermia, while Han had been bundled up properly and was dry, unlike Luke at the time.Empires have an Emperor, what the fuck point is this faggot trying to make here? Obiwan lied, but hid double meaning in the words he used. Said Vader was a Jedi before, so why wouldn't he have a lightsaber? Vader throws the Emperor down the shaft because 'over confidence is his weakness' and Vader didn't use the force, he picked the fucker up and threw him. No force powers (to detect) needed. Forgetting the base was specifically said to have been shielded, and they came out of hyperspace too close and alerted them to it, so they had time to get the shields up, so they couldn't just bombard the planet. So they had to do a ground assault. They no doubt saw they didn't need full pressurized suits from the readings, later to discover they were actually inside a creature. And can't be happy that you've avenged yourself for what has happened to you immediately afterward?

What the fuck is wrong with these people? How much money do you have to pay for them to sell their souls to Disney like this? And can Disney get it's money back for their absolutely poor showing and complete lack of understanding that is Star Wars?

didn't watch but I assume it's all like

He does have some good points, especially about Luke driving the X-wing.

...

it's just ironic bitching about technical errors in the OT. it's horrible. OP should die for this

Partly, but it also partly mocks Internet autists like Kike Cucklasa.

The problem isn't the internet. The problem is allowing women and the turd world on it.

You could get away with characters like the Emperor just being there in the original series, because there were no prior films, no proceeding backstory. You can't just get to the seventh chronological film in a saga, and throw in a character who has every reason not to exist, given certain established rules, unless you have a damned good explanation.

The internet was around back then. It’s all just so moronic, this hipsterism.

He literally never does though. He just about manages to beat Vader by the third movie, and he still gets his ass kicked by Palpy.

Also Luke NEVER defeated Vader or the Emperor!
What he did is bring out the good in Vader which made him turn on the Emperor at the very end and then Vader died shortly after taking damage from the emperor's lighting strikes…..

Which was mentioned a bunch of times, even right before he was allowed to pilot the x-wing (biggs vouched for him he was the best pilot…..) …
They even had Luke playing with the T-16 prop in the beginning of the film in ANH, hell obi-wan mentioned his piloting abilities after talking about Luke's father.
It's like some of these people never saw the OT films or have less comprehension than a senile old foreign man.

He doesn’t fight Palpatine. Luke put his faith in his father at the point.

The Rebels being an undermanned guerilla force were probably happy to accept any pilots they could get their hands on, if only to throw as many targets as possible at the deathstar, in the hopes that one would make it through to the end.

Sure but random rebel superior officer number one sounded like he was going to refuse Luke until Biggs told him that Luke could handle himself… due to the fact that they established the idea multiple times that Luke like his father was a great pilot that flew a T-16…. I believe the model of the T-16 Luke played with in the beginning was actually the model they were going to use to shoot a scrapped sequence of Luke actually flying a T-16.

What about the entirety of Han's rescue mission in RotJ? I liked that Luke was a wholly competent force user by then.

It's not like he was hitting above his weight though. He can take on some thugs after two movies, several battles, and a small amount of training from two Jedi masters.

killing pig aliens & other reject minions of a giant slug…. killing the rancor was the most impressive thing he did and he defeated it by throwing a rock at the door switch.

Marysue-acting face would have killed the rancor with brute strength instead

She never would have fallen down the hole.

You mean Gamorreans? You must be a woman.

I never liked their design therefore I never bother to learn their names. pig aliens™

I just think it was more to do with the escalation of stuff happening on screen between 1983 and 2017. Luke rescuing Han is the best example of a Jedi's full powers in the OT. I always considered the rescue mission to be outright Luke porn which is part of the reason it was the most fun and in my opinion the best Star Wars film.

They’re just Orcs. How can you dislike the design?

I'm not criticizing RoTJ, it was great I'm criticizing TFA and TLJ for producing a bland flawless character that is never in any real danger.
yeah they escalated it alright they turned the hero character into in an odious obnoxious mary sue in 2015 because the force is female tension and character development are "patriarchy".

Green pigs with axes, I suppose you are right 1980's orcs… whatever its not a huge gripe only a nitpick after all look at what disney made.

The important thing is it happens in the last film of the trilogy. Luke has had time to get good by that point. Rey is that good right from the get go, for no real reason, other that "muh tough upbringing" I guess, like Luke didn't grow up surrounded by monsters and bandits too.

To add to this:
When Luke fought the rancor he easily could have died despite being a powerful force user he could not manipulate Jabba with the mindtrick which was his plan and he was surprised by the trap door.
Once Luke fell into the Rancor pit he had nothing to defend himself with, the "laser sword™" (this is the new name for it now) was stored in R2. Luke only defeated the Rancor by thinking and reacting quickly (subtle force use with stone throw or good throw?). He bested the beast and with the tools he had at hand and earned the kill.
Seriously what would Rey do? (in b4 they make bracelets with that printed on them) She would have known of the trapdoor before she stepped into the place ( because muh vagina and the force) and easily killed Jabba ,the rancor, and a few others for good measure with some crazy new or OP force power or a light saber before rescuing Han and leaving….. 0 tension this is Star Wars now.

Obi-Wan - flawless
Yoda - flawless
Leia - Flawless
The idea every character should be flawed is retarded, though it might be worse that in TFA and TLJ one of the two protagonists is flawless, while both Han and Luke were flawed.

Both Yoda and Obi died and were wrong about Vader. Leia dun goofed and got rammed by a big space slug. If you take the prequels into account even more mistakes were made by Yoda and Obi-Wan.

Admitted himself that his hubris in training Anakin caused the problems. He also outright lied to Luke
Yoda was grumpy, and annoying. In the prequels he realized he was wrong.
Leia was haughty and stuck-up.

Obi-Wan and Yoda were masters who had been doing what they do for decades, if not centuries, and their role in the story was to be mentor figures (and die), which is very different to being the hero.
Leia was a mouthy bitch who doesn't do a hell of a lot of anything. I don't know why you bring her up.

I don't care whatever this retard says, OT was also far from work of genius. it's just that we had better standards back then like there was actual screenwriting with character arcs and shit.
Part with little forest bears planet was probably as much retarded as SJWars-2017.

To this day I got no idea why any kind of SW-faggotry even exists. It was meh at best and new shit is just a disgrace.
Oh wait now that lucasberg 'remastered' old shit with blender-for-newfags-CG it's also in the same pile.

You say this over and over again in every thread. Lots of people liked it.

Obi-Wan let himself die which is the most Mary Sue thing possible. Yoda died of old age. But true they were wrong about Vader, i forgot about that.
I don't really accept being taken as a slave a character flaw, she still makes no mistakes and her character is 100% pure untainted.

Not true, she only came across as stuck-up around Han. Luke came from a background of nothing and didn't get the same treatment.
wrong
you're right about Obi-Wan though, I need to rewatch Star Wars.

...

The "Mary Sue" criticism doesn't apply to the mentor figure. They're supposed to be impressive, maybe somewhat perfect, because their role in the story is to show the hero the way, and to give them an ideal to aspire to. And then unusually to get out of the way by dying, forcing the hero to grow and come into his own.

what is ANH.
He was too weak to face Vader and he chose death at that moment to let Luke escape….
Go watch the OT already you clearly never watched them given the disney approved talking point you've posted thus far.

that was just banter and it was cute!

She didn't know that was Luke and was shit talking who she thought was another soldier helping torture her.

They were always mediocre movies

Okay, but she called Chewbacca a walking carpet. That’s pretty stuck-up.

That was funny. Leia is innocent and pure and you have nothing on her. Even her rejection of Han was pure, he wanted to treat her like a common whore and not the cultured lady she is. Get real.

She is a part of the rebel alliance and a traitor.

Yeah, that's a fair criticism. Also weird considering that's on par with the imperial officers comment earlier.

...

Just more disney shilling.

The script was shit because it gave too much exposition that didn't come from the characters naturally. The Rey-Kylo force link was forced and retarded. Internet reviewers on the other hand thought the force link forced exposition was good and just felt the movie needed more of it, which is retarded.

Given the state of movies today….particularly the odious filth disney tired to push on people, the OT star wars if released today would have been seen as masterpieces and would have been even more successful today.

In ROTJ he was at his strongest and still managed to make several mistakes. Just at Jabba's, he gets caught in the Rancor trap and is later captured for Sarlacc's pit, in which fight they manage to shoot one of his hands.
But the fight against Vader didn't seem entirely right. Empire Vader seemed much stronger, and made use of the force in such a way it was difficult to imagine a way to beat him. In the very least, ROTJ should have shown Luke capable of breaking through one of Vader's force attacks.

He sounds like a fag. He defends Mary Sue character Rey by insinuating Luke had no flight training despite the fact that he was an expert pilot is mentioned multiple times in A New Hope.
Luke didn't become an expert in the force in two days, there are years between ANH and ESB.

Had to stop there, it's a very lame video by an obvious virtue signalling faggot who thinks by pandering to NuWars, a girl might touch his peepee. Sad!
