You are now rebooting Chess for the CURRENT YEAR what is the first thing you do? I would add a perk system like CoD to the pieces and add hats/skins in RNG boxes

Add more black pieces

I just make battlechess

obviously its f2p where you can only play a couple rounds in a day and then you have to either pay them or way for it to "recharge"

All pawns are now queens and the queen now can only move once to the same adjacent color.

...

The only female character is already a mary sue.

Give the players the ability to change any chess piece they control into whatever piece they want at any time, but they have to pay ChessBux to do it. It's 4$ to buy enough ChessBux to change a piece. Have fun, fuckos.

Knights and pawns now have tits, bishop becomes agender.

8/8 made me laugh

The bishop is now called a Mullah to promote the diverse and loving culture of peace.

...

My black-colored chess piece. Played the shit out of that.

Counter-Chess.

The two corner squares on one side are bombsites that the white team has to defend. The black team must escort the king, who is carrying the bomb, to one of the bombsites so he can blow it up. If the bomb is planted, the white king must defuse it in 5 turns or else it detonates and the black team wins. Each round, team starts with 3 pawns, a king and 800 dollars to spend on extra pieces. Money can be gained by completing objectives and defeating enemies. Pieces that survive the round will be present in the next. Teams switch sides after 15 rounds, making for a full game of 30 rounds. First to 16 points wins.

Weeaboos have their own chess en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shogi never played it myself

>there is no mountain to climb

fuck solved games

That would be fucking mayhem.

You almost had me.

If you hate solved games then Taikyoku shogi is for you

Make it red vs blue because black and white is racist.

Add skins for each piece, as in every single one of each different piece on the board. The only way to get skins is with random gambling boxes. Also it runs on Havok engine.

King and queen are sexist, they must be go enough new names.

The king being objective of the game is very peniscentric, so that must go as well.

Queens having the largest range of movement is acceptable, but not Mary sue enough. The queen must be made invulnerable to all other pieces. If a queen meets the opposing queen then the game ends in a draw; two women discussing the problems of a patriarchal society sending them to war and planning to rule over their current year society without the king.

Bishops are exclusionary to Muslims and atheists so they must be replaced with Dawkins or imams depending on who becomes the dominant religion in the current year, so imams it is.

Knights are usually depicted riding horses, to attract bronies we shall depict them as popular pony characters. This will also serve as a good strategy to employ against them as bronies will protect their waifu to the end.

Rooks are exclusionary to the homeless and should be turned into section 8s or community housing.

Pawns are to be called something less offensive. Liberal arts majors or baristas.

Since the range of movement is limited to certain pieces, I feel it is oppressive. Thus any piece can move how ever it wants.

The object of the game should be to talk about why you trying to take the opponents pieces and have a constructive dialogue about the history of colonialism.

Actually, competition itself is unhealthy. Chess should be abolished.

Honest question, we all know chess is fucking ancient and based on real battle strats that actually work. It's super abstract yet chessmasters employ real life battle strategies and it fucking works, which is awesome.

However, how come the queen is so OP in this game? What does she really represent?

Not really, it's a very powerful but valuable unit that can still be countered easily and which is heavily influenced by the fact that you only have one and getting it back is almost impossible.
It's basically an extremely well-trained soldier, a veteran, hence the pawn promotion always going to queen first if there is no queen on the field

Not OP, chess is perfect, but a very powerful unit then.

Why's she called the queen? Did it change during the ages?

...

It's probably called queen as an antipode to king it guards who is a useless sack of shit(just like almost any other king that ever graced the battlefield really)
I'd call it a knight but there already are two of those.

...

Same video use webm

Yeah, maybe it's the King's Guard… Or just sworn swords to the family, the queen representing family/home.

...

If you look at Chinese chess (which is closer to the Indian original than European chess) you get 2 "Queens", who are called "Ministers", and really are "Royal guards" who can only move within the "Palace" around the "General" (King).
