5. JJ was involved with both of them the entire time
6. Colin sided with Mark Hamill that the script to VIII was not good because Luke's death like that should be saved for IX
7. Kennedy thought that Colin was pompous overall and had no problem firing him
8. Colin is fired and JJ is slated to direct when he has been arguably the one working on this the longest since Kenendy hasn't done anything at all
9. JJ being in the know this entire time was able to rewrite the script for IX in a few months and just sent it in officially.
10. The film is filming in six months, JJ will tune it until then and just wing it

To be fair Ren is the only one who has somewhat of a character in the movies, and he's the only one who has some sort of an arc or goal in mind. And the tryhard Darth Vader fanboy is an interesting concept that could work with a better actor, writer, director, and producer. That's not to say his character isn't terribly executed or angsty to the point of parody, but he at least has a character.

Jedi werent originally supposed to be unstoppable superheroes. A force of 500 (probably far less) stormtroopers attacking one Jedi at once would easily defeat a Jedi. The Empire (First Order) theoretically should have a ton of troops. Anyeay with his wild attitude he would be a General at best. Probably a lower rank then that. Never supreme leader.

Mara Sue was good when she was originally introduced as a former loyalist with a grudge due to THE LAST COMMAND issued by Sheev as he plummets down a conveniently placed bottomless shaft. What later writers did with her was shit, but the core premise was decent, and a good juxtaposition for Luke.
Jacen's plot and fall was much better done than anything in the PT. Granted, they had a lot more time to build-up to it and some of the writers that were involved were just…ugh, but still, the temptation and fall was interesting to see. The idea of an Imperial Remnant, of loyalists and former big-wigs who refuse to admit defeat and give up, that's not uncommon. Fucking random japs lived innawoods for decades because they didn't know WW2 ended. On a galactic scale, with planets and stars still not properly mapped, even in ABY+, of course they're going to find a place to hide, especially since the Republic is so hamstrung by its own democratic ideals.
