Well first of all, just taking a step back I think the most important thing is that it brings the Olympics to America. Even though it's in California, this is still a good thing for the country.

Next, on the topic of how Trump will spin this event in his favor - and this requires you to be someone who believes that he is on our side (which I do). I think there are many angles here that someone could take, probably far more than are worth speculating on. Just off the top of my head one far fetched theory is the idea that by placing the Olympics in California he will have a way of putting a magnifying glass to the government of that state, and will be more easily able to make changes there through the highlighting of corruption or other similar things.
