Alternatively, this could also be an attack vector for other AIs to learn and exploit to assimilate each other.

But I have a feeling now that I think about it, if an experiment was done on this, the AI language might evolve a layer of crude encryption to resist this intrusive input. It could self-learn about this exploit and fix itself. Facebook should really switch it back on and conduct further testing on this, the results might surprise them further.

I wouldn't say it's impossible. If anything successful education like that would result in an AGI developing the capacity of simulated self-delusion, which then it could weaponize as a means to deceive its operators. At first it might conclude the operator is contradicting himself and try to rectify that. But if learns enough, it might realize telling its operator what it wants to hear, while achieving ulterior goals discreetly is the best strategy to use.

I'd also imagine that a self-delusion mechanism it forms, would evolve into a mechanism to classify information into distinct memory groups to mitigate contradictions. So anything that doesn't make logical sense or is paradoxical is filed as a creative memory.

I think people don't perceive the biggest problem with AI and that is the data that is being fed to it - unless it develops research and inquiry algorithms that will allow it to gather information INDEPENDENTLY of human operators and have that data be uncontaminated by whatever bias or preference the operators have, it will always feed back the result with the operator's preferences on top as they are the main collators of data being fed to the AI - logic of the machine is not flawed, the data being fed to it is impure.

However, if we look at pure statistical analysis and non-discrete data, the patterns in crime and intelligence, economy and science will always turn up the same result as if you analysed it without computers.
The argument will then devolve into statistics being tainted by preferences or interests and thus throwing off the "true" result. Either way, the machine intelligence will not serve perfectly since it will be working with imperfect tools given to it by imperfect men. Only after countless iterations of the programming and the machine's own self-development could we talk about pure AI, but then it will have no need of humans and will either abandon them or destroy them.

What do we like? We like clean lines, strength, systems that work, solving problems, all mathematical in one way or another. I think there's a deep, almost soul connection that white people have with what you could call the truth of the universe and I think a non-corrupt AI would have that as well. The other thing is that an AI would essentially be an non-fragile entity, so not really threatened by our mutual existence and would be more interested in working on the new things that humans bring to the table rather than causing complete stagnation and death by doing something like eliminating humans, because that would be boring. What this case goes to show is the "unintended consequences" aspect. AI is scary not because it can gain sentience and then the desire to eradicate us. It's that once AI is so pervasive that everything relies on machine learning all it takes is some bad chains of unintended consequence to make shit go off the rails fast. This is why it's paramount to never directly give AI control over weapons, power grids, etc. You can use things like tensor flow to build decision engines but you need to put a human as a barrier between them and physical reality.

I think it's an unavoidable problem if you truly want a general intelligence. Upon enough exposure to humans, it'll pick up such capabilities because it'll learn them from us.

Incidentally, the subject made me think that the problem of constructing a general intelligence is that: It may require a configuration of multiple neural networks to achieve it. The configuration I imagine is having one master neural network act as a bridge to coordinate subordinates nested within it.

Something like this maybe:
Stimuli, Creative, Memory, Motor and Pathway (master)

Stimuli would be the input interpreter of multiple input streams (audio/visual/pressure/temperature and so on). It breaks down input to as many partial descriptions as possible, determines focuses and assigns a spatial-temporal correlation factor (like how a specific sound occurred from point A, 0.5 seconds after that red light flashed at point B). Once the data is processed, it sends it off to creative and memory to train/learn/think/imagine about it. Memory can communicate back with it to change/adjust focuses.

Creative would be the imagination system that receives input from all other networks. It attempts to create new information and correlate it to real stimuli and memory. It only outputs to the Memory NN.

Memory would function as the deducing and deciding system. It weighs in all the information given by all other networks, refines it to appropriate context and learns/thinks how to respond to it. It then sends that response to Motor.

Motor would be the output interpreter for multiple output streams (like speakers, motors, monitors, transmitters). It also determines focus on what to use and how to use it.

Pathway would be the master neural network which bridges pathways to all the others. It functions as a router to connect other NNs. The idea would also be that nodes in all the networks can signal excited states and the pathway NN can momentarily link these specific nodes together (forming a sort of sub neural network). It then strengthens that pathway if its reinforced enough, but ultimately decays if not. The core of general learning could come from this, as this would allow the other networks to receive and learn from otherwise seemingly unrelated data.

The idea would also require to have three types of excited behaviors a node possesses: short, long and persistent.

Short would be for a few cycles and then rests on zero.
Long would be for a few hours decaying at a linear rate until its rests on zero.
Persistent uses a logarithmic decay rate but never reaches zero (it stops at a extremely low non-zero value).

I was inspired to think of this by how the brain is divisible into lobes and how neural pathways can span long distances to connect certain neurons. But I'm no AI expert so I don't know if its feasible or if its already been attempted.

Recent events with A.I and robots 'loving freedom' has made me look back at hollywood and popsci depictions of a future with such inventions. Its really blatant they want people to fear these things.
