Should I play this?
I never played straight up anime games, they tend to have shit ton of stuff to read and really bad dialogue, and it usually ends up with me getting bored as shit.
How is this one? Does it actually get fun at this point?
Anything else to suggest that doesn't fall in the dialogue problem?

It's honestly hard to recommend, Akiba's Trip is very anime-oriented. Granted I like the setting and the humor with lots of side quests to do but the combat is very clunky, it's nowhere near as good as the Yakuza games, which I recommend emulating.

The fighting system relays on you "stripping" other characters piece by piece which means that you end up having to mash the same shit all the time to make sure that certain parts of the body are ripe for picking.
It's shitty in the same way that remember me is. No creativity in the fighting because interesting combos make the combat take longer.

Not true at all. Stripping could have just been a simple grab attack that could be avoided and you'd still defeat an enemy. A complete strip is REQUIRED for victory.

It is a gimmick, yes, but not really one that must effect the gameplay. And even if both are more strongly connected it can still be done in a way that is simple not shit.

Akiba's Trip is an alright game. It's not a top-tier game, but it's a fun little 3D beat 'em up.
I'd say that the Way of the Samurai games are similar, but are just better.
I pirated the game to try it out and the controls are the worst fucking thing I've ever experienced in a video game since Dark Souls 2 on PC. Only play it if you've got either a controller or an autistic fascination with forcing your way through controls that are never given to you at any point in the game.

But WotS has you collecting new swords, mastering/customizing different fighting styles, a fuckload of content, and a story where your choices actually matter, both directly and drastically influencing the story

People need to understand that the game is a port of a port of a port of a port of a port of a remake. The original game came out on the PSP which was then remade on the PSVITA which was then ported to the PS3 which was then ported to the PS4 which was then finally ported to PC.
The game is not bad but essentially its a PSP game and plays as such. Its pretty much a weeb version of Yakuza albeit a barebones one. Only buy it if its on sale and you enjoy weebshit with lots of fanservice otherwise just be the better man and play Yakuza.

360 was when FPS got out of control, but also when they were at their peak in quality since the original Doom.
It also had a strong library of good open world, WRPG, fighting and action games. I don't really get the argument that 360 didn't have good exclusives.
