The PC ports will be fucking ass, DR1 will barely run, have locked resolution and terrible sound issues.

Awesome!
I hope nothing goes wrong.

Did they change anything to DR1? I think it'd be pretty fun with coop

Where did you find this out from, user?

probably. but still, pcucks will defend it.

Looking forward to seeing how they turn out. If it ends up with the original 360 release being the best version I can always just get that once I mod my 360.

That sounds like it could get comfy

QLOC is doing the port and they've been doing an all right job this far.

Lets hope co-op and general bug fixes and such is all they add. The game is great as is, increased FPS and resolution can only make it better.

DR2 came out for PC years ago, and it took them this fucking long to fix the GFWL horseshit. Capcom is shit

I'm out of work and instead of taking the bus I decided to walk a 1 hour long road just to take this picture.

For anyone worried about the quality of the DR1 port, it seems like QLOC are working on it (the same folks who did the Dragon's Dogma PC port early this year) so we should be safe.

Both DD and DR used MT Framework, right? Should be childsplay bringing it to PC.

...

What did he mean by this?

Stop getting your material from cuckchan, stupid.

try not being an unfunny reddit-tier retard you cocksucking sack of shit

What a terrible existence to have.

That is quite the difference. Can you post the source OP

Nobody said fucking anything about the 27th.

The PC port is as good as ready, but equality dictates that everyone gets it at the same time, so it's all coming out on the 13th, says the PSBlog.

They also said a website's up, but that's bullshit. Not like it'll compare to the old Dead Rising Webzones, from back in the day.

So the DR page is up on Steam

store.steampowered.com/app/427190/

Nice doppel-dubs, I guess.

That's some dedicated shitposting.

and equality dictates everyone runs it as good as the fucking Wii U I guess.

Can you not read the OP? I asked for a source on what he is saying

No. The PC port courtesy of QLOC will ensure that the mustard tastes the best, yet again.

The point is that OP pulled the 27th out of his ass. Read the PS blog, and you'll be told that all games are synced to release on the thirteenth of September.

Who would be a co-op partner? Nick and Chuck would be out of place and I'd rather not have 2 Franks

Wesker

Maybe Otis? Although that might cause some inconsistency in overtime mode.

games are on such a low point that supporting a resolution/frame rate combo that became standard over a decade ago is a plus

Maybe they could do something like add in a special rescue mission in the beginning and the second player plays as that guy

You fags are cucked so hard you dont even see it anymore. Instead of making PC games they just try to make a quick cash with old ass console games they denied you before.

This fat motherfucker, right here.

fuck off to cuckchan and blacked.com threads. I loved DR 1 on x360 and now cant wait for the pc port. Now all we need is asura wrath and onimusha trilogy hd port.

Go back to cuckchan

But what about the forth game in the series user?

Why dead rising 3 sucked? is worth playing?

Get better material and stop regurgitating the same thing everyone else says, you fucking hack
I hope a truck barrels into your house

It's been a while, but I clearly remember disliking this shit. Also, was it easier than the previous? I really felt like it was.

No time limit, they put even more of an emphasis on combo weapons than 2 did, Nick is the worst DR protagonist (Chuck may be whiny but at least its justified because his wife died and he has to take care of his daughter who will turn infected the moment she doesn't get her zombrex), and the world is mostly full of brown and gray

Like play whatever survivor you rescued? Suppose that would work.

Didn't stop DR2 OTR from having Chuck being the co-op partner despite fighting psychopath Chuck

It's okay, but it's got major flaws.

Honestly I recommend sticking with the first two games for now.

Also trailer here. Something just occurred to me though, they never mentioned Case Zero or Case West. Are those Xbox 360 exclusive forever?

Neat, I've been wanting to replay DR1 for years now but not quite enough to dig the 360 out of storage. Hopefully something doesn't go horribly wrong with the port.

Case Zero was garbage anyway, featuring one of Celldwellers best tunes at the very end is its only redeeming factor.

I didn't think it was that bad given that I only paid 5 bucks for it. Lot better than the future of the series right now, which the developers seem to have misunderstood along with a bunch of other dudebros.

Poor Cliff. Having to watch his granddaughter get eaten by zombies.

What the fuck is wrong with people

into the trash the entire series goes

I guess they only played the later games. Because Dead Rising 1 still took itself pretty seriously despite its occasionally silly gameplay.

He kept saying 'like the first one,' so I assume he played it.

Regardless, it's obvious he missed the point of the first Dead Rising entirely.
Hell, maybe he didn't even make it to overtime mode.

you damn right

I wonder if he only just wasted time killing zombies like most of the people who complained about the time limit

...

He would only be able to play for 7 minutes though

The same fucking thing happened to saints row.

And both came out the same month, same year. It's like each title and their sequels reflect what the game industry was like during that period.

Kind of accurate when you think about it.

Then again I wonder what happened to DR after 2, its the same fucking company working on the game, and I refuse to believe Inafune was the one fucking thing holding it together.

I wouldn't really believe Inafune is the one holding it together as much as it was Yoshinori Kawano.

Yoshinori directed the Mega Man Legends and first 4 Zero games and also the Dead Rising games up to Off the Record.

Meanwhile, DR3's director is the same kike who directed Mattress Girl Edge, Battlefield 3 & 4,

God damn it codemonkey

Meant to

The steam trailer seems to be in 60 FPS, I like how it looks.
Now I have a very important question, can anyone tell me what to do when I've gone guru?

I wonder where he is now. Would certainly explain the difference from DR1 and 2 to DR3.

And it doesnt seem to recover any time soon.

Probably jumped ship from Capcom since he hasn't worked on anything else after Project X Zone and that shitty Steel Battalion Kinect game

They probably said it was the forth one because it is listed as the fourth canonical game. The two games that came out after 2 didn't continue the story.

...

though i'd like them to do that for lost planet games

Thats what happens when games take 3 years to make now on average due to the amount of resources required and time spent rexturing the same wall again and again because console players just now discovered 1080p resolutions. CoD games took 1 year to make on average for example, now they take 2.

Honestly I wouldnt mind if devs just made games with 360 tier graphics but upscaled them to higher resolutions if it meant games would be optimized as well and come out faster on top of that, some of the games from back then look very nice still.

I don't suppose anyone could tell me what song they used in embed related, right?

Because shitty quality headphones and stereo mix not even working strike Midomi out as an option and apparently nobody fucking knows, either.

lmfao y shud spoonfeed u

I wouldn't mind PS2 graphics if it had a chance of reducing gaming's cancer, but I know it wouldn't work that way. We'd just see the return of shovelware, this time with microtransactions.

/r/PCmasterrace pls go

Why do they even bother making graphics intensive games when both consoles and even PCs just aren't up to the challenge nowadays? I mean, I was planning to buy RX480 until I found out I still won't be able to play new AAA games at smooth constant 60 fps. And my integrated shit GPU plays games like EDF4.1 and many other games just as fine. And now everyone prepares for 4K and VR games while there isn't even any hardware available to handle that shit at realistic amount of details at realistic price.

I think microtransactions wouldn't be needed if developers didn't spend upwards of 20 million making a game, a few extra million promoting it or vice versa, and the game needed to sell Call of Duty numbers to be considered a success. But maybe that way developers would be able to focus on gameplay and level design instead of just visuals.

My guess is because they still think pumping out the most realistic graphics instead of focusing on optimization is the way to go, never mind that it started to wear out halfway through last gen with the tricks devs used to make consoles play their games. It's a never ending race for the cutting edge tech, except now its basically a double edged sword that isn't feasible.

Even then there are some games like Silent Hill 3 which aged flawlessly, so much that it stands toe to toe with fucking MGSV.

I never played OTR, and I haven't seen DR1 content in a long while. I might consider picking this up.

I'll add to this user, I'm real curious as to the exclusive DLC. They expanded on the second game's story a little bit and I would probably be sold on this if they were included.

what have they done to my frank

I'm willing to bet they're gonna do a MGSV joke and have that Frank be a complete fake. He doesn't sound, look or act like the Frank I've seen in the first two games.

It's easier to sell people on visuals than performance. Considering people still argue over 30 vs. 60fps, it's more profitable to wow consolefags with a higher resolution than to sell them on something they might not even recognize as a positive.

I bought an RX480 because I've been running off integrated graphics for the last few years, but I don't intend to move off 1080p until I can get a balanced upgrade in framerate or resolution without paying a gorillion dollars. Resolution upgrades don't make sense until you can hit at least 60fps on them, and AAA games can only reliably hit 144fps with a 1080 or Titan X Pascal, so it's not even worth buying a 1080p 144hz monitor.

He looks like he just covered a war.

Is it win 10 only?

Nope, it's for Windows 7. DR4 is a Windows 10 exclusive for now but I won't be surprised when it gets brought over to Steam.

Oh you

It might not be needed to recoup dev costs, but they wouldn't suddenly turn benevolent just because they aren't putting out as much. They'd still cut corners, probably taking advantage of the whole, "it's lower-quality graphics, you can't expect as much!" attitude. DLC and microtransactions might not be as insultingly in-your-face as we're used to, but they know idiots will buy shit like horse armor, they wouldn't pass up the opportunity.

No. DX11 for the first gaming, DX9 for 2 and OTR.

Timed Exclusive, user. Think of it as like an "open relationship".

DR4 will only be exclusive to Xbone and Win10 for 60 days, and then it will come out on Steam

Source?

Why did games start running like shit around 2006?

Whoops, turns out it was a 90-day exclusivity deal, not 60.

As for OP's claim:

blog.eu.playstation.com/2016/08/09/dead-rising-1-2-and-off-the-record-are-coming-to-ps4-next-month/

New era Next gen.

YOU'VE GOT TO SHINE, UNTO THINESELF BE TRUE

Thank God, the 360 was such a pile of shit.

...

*DR1

Fuck I'm tired.

...

It's tied to unlocking the SWAT chest/legs item.

Same reason I did Zombie Genocider; for the Real Mega Buster.

Who gives a toss about the achievement itself?

This was one of those games where achievements were tied in with unlocking weapons and costumes, instead of solely metrics tracking.

If I wasn't disappointed with the whole Dead Rising 4 shit, now I am.

They're actually worth a damn here since they unlock extra shit.

There really needs to be an age limit for this place.

There is

It's just 18+ for this place, and it's not enforced enough.

Having to spoil NSFW content, instead of you know, actual spoilers is a big sign of how kid-friendly this board is. Someone besides myself has to annoy the Kike leading this board to make the place more "mature".

...

Is it too hard for them to make a scroller?

At least it has uncapped frames and bindable keys, but I'm still waiting for mod support to officially be confirmed.

plus NSFW is just used as slang for "no porn and things the janitors don't like" since i have yet to see a thread in this website that wouldn't get me fired

Can't enforce it without giving up anonymity, pal

YES! I fucking love Dead Rising.

Bitch please, the resolution/framerate boost is just the icing on top of this delicious cake.

This isn't true, my 970 can handle most new games on high settings at 60FPS. If the even newer titles coming out start affecting that, I can just lower my settings to medium and still get a better looking experience than on console. 1080p 144hz is a perfect set-up anyway since I mostly play older games.

This. Just let people fuck minor's shit up.

Mods can't enforce it, but posters can.

Self-moderate, you shit.

Sweet. The old one worked well enough, but you couldn't start a new Lv 0 game without losing your main save.

Anyone who blamed their time mismanagement on the save system is a casual

DO THESE DUMB FUCKERS EVEN KNOW WHY DEAD RISING CAME INTO BEING?!

Split between "whacky" DR and actually good DR ala Saints Row and Agents of Mayhem when

I'll never understand morons that think DR shouldn't have had a time system. Or why they can't handle mechanics that actually make a game more challenging and not just a boring sandbox game.
My friend is a Skyrim kiddy and he echos this shit to me all the time when I tell him he should be using his 360 for DR and not multiplats.

Nope, to them it's just a new enemy type to shoehorn into the game. It made sense when they had specifically engineered gas that would mutate late game zombies into something more threatening, but this is just bullshit.

Never fucking ever.

The only one that did it right was Left 4 Dead, which I still uphold aside the original Dead Rising as the essential zombie games, for both multiplayer, and singleplayer.

...

It's being done by QLOC,retard.

PUT THAT SUCKER ON HOLD

Left4Dead though addictive and fun in it's core formula, can be quite repetitive at times. I'm not sure essential is the right word, I hold RE Outbreak much higher than L4D.

The same can be said for Dead Rising, but that doesn't make replaying every few months anything but a blast.

The only problem L4D had was it not being clairvoyant and realizing what kind of putrid sensitive kick happy cunts would be playing the game in the future.

I wish, then I'd get to enjoy DR1 again as well as the tears from angry mustard race children who can't steal another game.

Its a good feel

...

Anyone who didn't play with their friends from the very beginning were just asking for disappointment. It's in the tagline on the back of the box, dammit.

I never found DR to be repetitive, course I hardly ever rescued survivors either.

But I don't have friends.

I know you're joking but I wonder if some community out there actually has threads jerking off denuvo and praising it.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

He wants replies.

That doesn't stop the cases being mandatory in order to continue playing.

I mean friends as in "people you meet online who aren't dicks that you stick around with". Steam "friends".

Cases, being core to the story, are not an issue, especially since some of them include boss fights. Also, only one case causes a game over and that's the bombs that Carlito puts in the underground, the others just lock you out of the good endings.
Have you ever even played Dead Rising?

That's the part where the game gets "repetitive", as I've said, which unless you want to keep getting Ending E (which is the equivalent to just sitting back in crescendo with Left 4 Dead), you'll just be knocking the story down the same way as usual.

I hope you're not one of the types who want a "sandbox" mode.

So what kind of run are you guys doing first? Rescue survivors? Beat story missions? Dick around?

Full-on perfect. After that, I'm doing the mess-around.

Also, there's a stream going on at Twitch under "CapcomUnity" of the game itself, right now.

What is wrong with a sandbox mode?

Except that it's not repetitive, at all. Only after you've played the game a few times does it get repetitive, which anything becomes after you've played it enough, since it draws you away from the sandbox aspect. Which begs the question, why the fuck are accusing me of wanting more sandbox shit when you can't even stomach the cases? We also did get a sandbox mode in OTR, and it was great since it didn't ruin the main game at all.

Survival-Horror is the genre. Now please leave.

Same can be said for Left 4 Dead, which is conveniently timed to whenever you and your mates are in the mood. That's not exactly going to be all-the-time, now. Is it?

Never said I couldn't stomach the cases. Getting awfully inquisitive. Are we? Says a lot, when you actually liked OTR's inferior Sandbox mode. Completely robs the challenge of the original Infinity Mode, which it most definitely is a gimped version of.

But the first dead rising had a sandbox mode, what the fuck is wrong with extra modes anyway. Fucking faggot

Infinity Mode is a lot different from the casualfest that Sandbox Mode is, you fucking plebeian.

I dont give a fuck how casual the sandbox mode will be, extra modes is a good thing. You had to unlock the modes first anyway so even your "muh casuls" wont be able to unlock it because I can guarantee they wont be able to get halfway through the main story

STOP
Thank god we got DR1 on PC, now that my 360 is ded I'll just remember and play the only great Dead Rising game and forget about 3 (and probably 4 the way it's headed).

No, no it's fucking not you mongoloid.
Only partially in that it takes elements from the genre, it's also a blend of openworld sandbox and beat em up. Go play Silent Hill or Resident Evil if you want a real survival-horror game.
You find them repetitive, even when they are not. Maybe saying "stomach the cases" wasn't quite the right thing, since doing that basically just means to tolerate it. But you get the gist of my point anyway.

You aren't hard shit nigger, Dead Rising is so easy that faggots like TheRadBrad can beat it with no problems.
It's supposed to be fun, no restrictions for once, and only as an alternate gamemode, an opportunity to experiment and learn new things to try in the main game to reduce time spent. If you want Infinity mode to come back than that's something I can get behind but not at the expense of other gamemodes which are fucking harmless.

There isn't gonna be one. It's a straight port, with no modifications to the original gameplay. Also,

Go back to playing DR3, faggot.
Only if you make it that way. That's why you space it out, between playthroughs.
Get out.

"Saving" them

Sure

You're buying a budget card and expecting to run on ultra stable at 60fps? That's not how this shit works. You need to choose realistic settings for budget cards, ultra is for high end cards.
And the hardware's definitely there for up to 1440p. I run nudoom at 1440p maxed out at around 100-120 fps, I don't think I've seen it dip below that. The only game that gives me trouble is X Rebirth which gets into the 40s even on low for no reason at all because it's garbage.

Why the hell would I go back to something I dropped in under an hour? Play a real survival-horror game you fucking mongoloid.
Take your own advice, instead of getting so triggered.

When you return to the safe room after the military arrives you find a note from the king calling cunt Otis, that tells you he found a chopper and took everyone to safety and is "sorry" he had to leave you and Jessie behind.

Not only they had to screw up the gameplay, they also had to screw up the plot and characters for people who really cared about the series.
2 was alright even if worse than DR1 but then they just shat the fucking bed.

Wait no way I thought everyone was just murdered by the military, now I don't feel like it was all for nothing.

3 made me want to die, beat final boss in less than a minute. They made it so casual because it was an xbox one launch title. Hope 4 will learn from the mistakes but I doubt it. At least we will have 1 on pc.

Why haven't you become an hero yet?

Jessie? You mean Isabella? They made her evil?

Right Isabella, sorry. It's been a while since I played DR3 (and to be honest my mind probably wants to forget it). But if I remember correctly she's now evol for a dumbshit reason.

Yeah. Wasm't she alreadya backstabbing cunt in one of the Dead Rising 2 DLCs?

I don't remember, but basically she wanted revenge for having her village and her brother wiped off.

You are a special type of retarded, mate.

Fuck alternating. That kind of shit brings us stuff like Fallout 4. Tradition all the way, you fucking faggot.

Yes she was in Cast West.

I get Chuck being JUST, but how is Frank also JUST?

Does anyone know where I can find a reliable torrent? I wanna see how bad this shit is for myself.

No that was mostly Carlito, she joined onto the Survivors side in the first game and helped Frank get the word out about those infected children. In Case West, she was the one that tipped Frank off to the Phenotrans facility and was supposedly working on a real cure, then she was kidnapped and you faced the final boss.
But now, fucking now off all times, she wants revenge?

Nice comparison retard.

I think it was in Case West but if I remember correctly she was getting kidnapped then

He's a washed up reporter in DR2 OTR, forced to play in a reality tv show to make meets end, not to mention the weight he gained and his receding hairline.

I said alternating in general, you faggot. There should be no change to what is perfect.

Oh right

For fucks sake he looks awful in 4

He also looks nothing like him and has a different voice actor. I'm hoping for a Shyalaman ding dong twist because he looks 5 to 10 years younger in that picture and even his fucking face isn't the same.
If it's still good old Frank it just means those faggots in charge of the game changed him because he didn't look "cool" enough.

Frank's charm character desgin wise in DR1 was that he was pretty average aesthetically.

He looks like that cuck from that recent Jew game about car theft.

I've said this many times over the years, Dead Rising is far from a perfect game, but that's not relevant.
You're also not changing anything, you're just adding a separate game mode. It's not like difficulty settings or "casual mode" that some games Fire Emblem that add casual enabling shit to the main game. Something you have to beat to unlock the other modes anyway. In no way did I ever imply that we should change the main game for sandbox shit, you're grasping as straws at this point.

His face barely even resembles Frank's, was the art team drunk? And what his wearing?

oy veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey

You have to get his original suit via DLC, just like Donte in DmC

Oh, cut the absolute crap. Will you?

Like I said, Dead Rising and Left 4 Dead stand as the perfect examples for what a zgame should be about; survival. Adding in tons of fun only serves to make thing cathartic, like in the Saints Row series' later entries.

If you like barebone monotonous gameplay maybe. L4D was fucking boring to play more than a few times. Not shit, but definitely overrated as fuck.

Except that you're not surviving. The only Survival-Horror aspect in the game is the limited inventory and emphasis on item management. DR is a beat'em'up first and foremost in it's gameplay.
If it were about survival then items wouldn't respawn, enemies would actually be dangerous, you wouldn't be a master of CQB capable of ripping the guts out of a zombie/person with your bare hands. I keep telling you to play a real survival-horror game nigger, as they give the player real reasons to fear their surroundings and force you to think a hell of a lot more about your actions and how you spend your resources.

You have shit-taste. Can't do anything about that.

That's explained away as something that would be very hard to code, without having items you so much as slightly budge dissapear forever, which would be very frustrating to the average player.
I seriously hope you guys don't restart your games like a bitch.
Casual confirmed.

Fuck man, was expecting a comfy thread like the early Dragons Dogma or EDF ones.

=WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLL=

Well, EDF and DD are good games
:^))

play good games if you expect good threads

No user, you're the one that likes Valve's post OpForce garbage. Yes I know Turtle Rock made it, they also made CS, and both games are Valve IPs. They were also owned by Valve until they refounded.
Obviously the game would have been designed around the mechanic if it was present at all during development moron. It's not hard to code at all either.

What? I fail to see how this even remotely ties into the argument, or how you even came to this conclusion. You've gone nuclear buddy. As you level up you gain a variety of melee moves, many of which are the last thing you'd include in a survival-horror game you sperg. Your post is just baseless conjecture and irrelevant shit.

Another generic military shooter, and one of the first, at that. If you weren't some casual newfag, you'd know they didn't even make that game. It was gearbox. Half-Life wasn't even good, to begin with, in the first place. It took all the freedom DOOM gave you, and shit on it, for the sake of "cinema" that doesn't belong in a vidya gaem in the first place.
Ideas Guy, please quit pretending you know what's good for vidya.
It makes you a casual.

Ebin

Eat shit

...

This is bait. No one is actually this stupid.

Care to explain the correlation between playing something for the first itme and the material being bad?

Left4Dead's levels were each fun to play through a single time. After that, there's no variety and it feels boring.

It's pretty much one of the first games to create that formula.

Please lurk, before you post, user. Nobody's going to spoonfeed you.

Only if you keep taking the same route for efficiency.

I'm also going to guess that "going back to our roots" is code for "we're too lazy/stupid to write something original, so we're reusing ideas".

Fuck this makes me sad. What I loved so much about 1 was that it was serious but the gameplay could be funny depending on how you played. You could wear military shit and the game would seem real like your trying to survive or wear a dress but the story went the same way just the gameplay was different. I hope they dont make it forcefully goofy like 3 got at times. I'm also sick of combo weapons, I liked 1 also because I could feel like I was someone really trying to survive, grabbing whatever I could etc. 2 did alright with it but it has completely spun out of control. I'm not to mad about the special zombie stuff, I did give the wii version a try after playing through the original and it was interesting, not great but did make the gameplay different but not too much. I'd say it would be okay if it was optional or something. Does anyone know anything about the co-op? I heard rumors of it being 4 player.

...

I remember someone in one of the older threads talked about how the characters in co-op would be past Dead Rising protagonists (Even fucking Nick is thrown in)

Xenia soon

I heard 4 player co op would be hard for the devs according to one post on the Dead Rising wiki.

you and I know it's very much untrue

Why does he look like michael from gta?

Good. They're a top flight port company. Polish too, so they can definitely into game development.

because it's not a game it's a product, that's just the generic protag.
They're starting to variate a tiny bit but the generic protag is a femininized bearded italian male who's too emotional not to be gay and has an average body build

...

Also adding, probably on his late 20s/early 30s. If they ever have a child or sibling it's a woman. The guy's voice also being right in the middle of the spectrum, not a deep tone and not a high tone either. His hair always being black or between black and dark brown, possibly with a slightly more colored beard.
He always has wrinkles and probably does his eyebrows, the nose always being at it's highest part protuding less than his forehead

I'm hoping that this game is just meant to be a "movie" about the events of Dead Rising 1, so that's why they decided to go with WACKIER weapon combos and why Frank doesn't look or sound like Frank" instead of an actual sequel with the "real" Frank.

Just treat DR3 and 4 like the Star Wars Prequels or Indiana Jones 4 - they never, ever fucking existed.

But that still makes it come across like a poor continuation of the series. Espefially since DR2 is the last good game theyve made.

Because that is the generic protagonist people have gotten used to seeing in many games that they may as well be the same character

Just like Saint's Row 2 was the last good Saint's Row game before they shat the bed with 3.

Wonder how many notes DR4 will take from SR4 if these parallels happen

For example

Poles always into game development.

Will there be mods, though?

Hard to say. I think the original DR was a completely custom engine, so that might make modding difficult.

I'm just glad that I can use a mouse to aim the fucking guns and that I can probably Cheat Engine the Zombie Genocider achievement. (Fucking thing took 6-8 hours when I did it on the original 360.)

Doesn't it use MTFramework?

Man, that 7-day survivor achievement took like, what, 14 hours?

Just checked the wiki for DR, and that is indeed the engine. Considering amount of RE mod I've seen, I'd like to imagine that means DR is equally moddable.

I hope so.

And is this re-release coming with any new items/costumes/etc? Or is it just HD textures/etc?

...

It's hard to tell, but both are basically so far separated from the original games. At least SR4 was okay in its own right as a Crackdown/Prototype clone and at least has fan service which i'm a fan of outside of anyone from Saints Row 3, hated everyone in that game, but DR4 it seems like they can care less about it, they didn't even get Frank's actor back and replaced him with a generic actor, unless they're doing a reference about him being beta Frank.

Except mods are easy as fuck for the console version, if you have the right setup, for it.

With Pollacks handling the MTF engine, I feel it's gonna be modded to all hell, by the end of the year.

Well here's something to give you hope, there's a new Crackdown on the Bone and it's probably going to have this same open relationship timed exclusive thing the rest of the Bone's library(sans KI) has. I mean if Quantum Dream and Ryse could make it on PC and not W10 "PC" then I think that third Crackdown will also be on PC and with it the earlier games.

Why is the Human Spider suddenly Polish?

I remember when the game was announced. Back then there was very few zombie games that were being released, I tried shovelware like that Land of Dead game or mods like Brainbread.
The first trailers for Dead Rising blew my mind, even if it wasn't exactly what I expected (hunger management and all that shit) the game was still one of the best I played. Almost everything just clicked with me, Frank's character design was simple but efficient, he was a likeable character overall. The tone of the game was kinda serious with a sense of urgency but you still had to use shitty weapons in time of need when you didn't know the optimal routes and stuff like that. And best of all when you levelled up enough those shitty weapons like dishes actually became useful.

It's really a shame there probably won't be another great Dead Rising game in our lifetime.

Y

...

Also sysreqs for DR1 is out. No HDD space sadly.
Seems good enough.

Who, following the piece of shit that was Blue Shift, had their hands held by Valve throughout the entirety of it's development.
"or how you came to this conclusion"
You pulled it out of your ass retard, I don't reset and there's no hint that I do.
That's OK friend, just forget the larger variety of enemies, weapons, higher difficulty, better pacing, and story compared to the original game, which I don't even like. Generic military shooters don't pit you against a variety of aliens and human enemy types alike.

Say what now?

DR always had such a good soundtrack, music was usually very fitting to each psychopath(s) that you came across too.

Yet it was still mainly developed at Gearbox offices.
Then you wouldn't have the crazy judo moves. It's just your slow, injured ass, props, and zombies.
CoD adds new suit every year, as does every other military game.
In a single player game? Please.
It's like porn, user.
That's not surprising.
Except when they're trying to be "different". Nazi Zombies, and robots. Aliens, and monsters. All NPCs.

Are they doing absolutely anything to them but adding a resolution patch?

Zombie

Blowjobs

Mini

Chainsaws

You unlock that shit as you play retard. You level up for killing psychopaths, zombies, and occasionally rescuing surviviors that aren't a pain in the ass. You don't have to reset to get most of the good stuff before you're done with the main story, and even before that it's still giving you a lot of power since you can grab the Katana evertime you exit the safehouse, and later the chainsaw after killing Adam. Items respawn, there's little to no management for advancement in the game since keys don't take up inventory space, resources aren't limited and the enemies deadly (asside from pseudo-bosses like the psychopaths and raincoat cult.)
The Special Forces were the toughest enemies in the game and made up most of the challenge of Overtime. Now that feels like surviving when you start a new game there instead of transfering from the main game. I'll give you that. But it doesn't resemble survival-horror much in the traditional sense, just borrows elements. The rest of the game is far more appealing.

Compared to the original game, yes.
How is the pacing of the gameplay not important in a video game? People do nothing but bitch about nuDoom, and for good reason. It's slow as fuck compared to the faster DOOM. Half-Life was a much slower and more "cinematic" game than OpFor was. You also act like it's impossible to have a story and be a good game, there's hardly any scripted sequences asside from the beginning and end of the game.

Might just be a copy paste from another game.

Didnt a few people work out that its actually a movie being filmed and not the original frank in the new DR?

Don't know but they may as well use that excuse because they'll be predicting that people don't like the new Frank and they'll go "B-But thats not the real Frank! Its an actor as him! Ha ha ha…."

The first game still looks good personally, at least I can actually tell what weapons are what instead of DR3 where everything was super dull ultra greybrown.

That would explain why Frank looks younger compared to 2, and why they probably have gotten rid of the need for zombrex.

Still would make me feel a bit peeved since they still fucked up some of the game mechanics.

Triple

Booked

Mini

Chainsaws

You'll only reach level 50 by the end of the game, if you go out of your way to nab all the PP bonuses that don't involve changing your play style in the first place. From the start, you're very much given the horror experience, with how slow, weak, and unarmed you are. So unless you know all the secrets beforehand, the game is very much survival-horror.
In fact, those special forces you consider to be so difficult are mincemeat, once you've made it to the late game, and effectively maxed on all the skills that matter. The only way you'd be stupid around them is if you'd try taking them on with a gun, rather than a bench.
They shoot projectiles that aren't hitscan. Big deal. Just because they aren't standing still after they announce themselves as an enemy like most military shooters doesn't make them anything but smalltime, in comparison to the enemies you'd see in DOOM, or Quake.
Sure. Let's pretend you were talking about "gameplay" pacing, when you were pairing it with story.

The pacing of the game is slow as fuck, unless you're breaking the embarrassment of an Id engine with it's pathetically small maps through bhopping.

...

Whats with shitty games and the number 4?

The announcement trailer is also really bad

Hey, don't be mad about Fallout fou-oh wait. Well there's Resident Evil 4-wait that fucked up the series.

Looks like Frank was too unique for them, they needed to make him less unique, all that is left for them is to change his name to "Jack" or "Mason"

I TOLD YOU, IT'S A CURSED NUMBER I TELL YOU

I don't know, man. GTA 4 was pretty good in my book, even if I consider Vice City the best overall game in the series.
And Saints Row 4 wasn't shitty, it was actually quite fun. It's far from Saints Row though, and 3 was worse.

Isn't it actually a cursed number in Asian culture?

The only thing good about DR3 is that it makes 4 look look better.

They're still tougher than every other enemy besides the psychopaths, and why I specifically mentioned starting OT with a new file.
No it isn't you fucking retard, go back and read my post I already explained why it isn't. There is barely any Survival-Horror in the game. Go play Resident Evil, SH, or Clocktower you fucking casual.
I love DOOM to death, but the AI wasn't particularly intelligent. It was their placement and variety that gave the game life. Quit being a hipster faggot because you played older shooters like everyone else on the board.
What is a comma? Illiterate. It was seperate from story how dense can you get?
Only because Frank hobbles around like a cripple until you start leveling up. One of those shitty linear progession systems no less, but hey by level 15 things are pretty comfy.
Confirmed for not knowing a single thing you're talking about.

Damn it Codemonkey. Meant for

I preferred 3 because I just prefer driving and shooting than gliding everywhere and shooting fucking pew pew shit from my hands

Res 4 while not being a survival horror game was a really good and fun action game also it was the last , resident evil game that somehow felt like one .

It goes without saying RE4 was a great game, but the affect it had on the series is still depressing. Granted they sort of turned it around with Rev2 and with RE7 even though its still not a true RE game they at least seem to know fans just want horror at this point.

Because I have a life full of responsibilities, I put effort in to improve myself and become better at my job and in my personal relationships with my family, close friends, and fiance. I am faced with challenges every day and must work to push through them.

Because of that, when I sit down for the hour or two I get to play video games every few nights, I don't want to play something with a sense of urgency like every other aspect of my life.

I'm not saying I dislike challenge in video games, by the way. Just urgency.

Then you might as well just play minecraft.
Plus don't expect sympathy for your situation from an entire board that's either 13 or 50 years olds both living in their mother's basement.

GTA 4 was the fourth game in name only though

I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure Vice City was actually the fourth game.

I'm not expecting any sympathy, just explaining myself.

I get that the whole feeling of urgency just doesn't click with some, but honestly thats what makes Dead Rising work. It fits in well with the story and thats what keeps it exciting.

You are right i cant say much to the point that you made , but is also really funny that fans want more horror at this point reminds me when RES 3 was released and it didn't sold as good as capcom expected and fans and reviewers were complaining that it was more of the same

Technically speaking, any of the 3D era GTAs after 3 are spin-offs.

Alright let's actually have a serious discussion about this:

While i'm all for improvement of life in video games with small elements in a series being smoothed out for a better overall experience, sometimes certain elements that seems stupid, are actually integral to the game itself and the whole reason why they work.

The time limit in DR, the slow, deliberate movements and attacks in MH, tank controls in classic survival horror games, and so on.

These are all ideas that seems stupid ON PAPER but when you actually implement them in the correct series, they turn out to be the entire reason why those series work.

Sometimes you have to implement ideas that seem inconvenient to the players, because the players don't always have to be serviced at every turn, sometimes inconveniencing the player challenges them with a new system that they have to adapt to, and adapting and understanding a system and trying to make the best within the limits of the system that the player is presented with, is a fun challenge into itself.

This was more true to the video game audience of the older days that was, for a lack of a better term, less of a bunch of dumb normalfags that were too mentally lazy to handle any of this shit, but it can still work today and indeed, it's exactly what keeps certain series like MH afloat while staying true for the most part to their original formula, with a mid sized playerbase that is used to the systems proposed in those games.

That's because RE3 was basically a copy/paste of RE2 with some tweaks. RE3 was originally going to be a spin-off and CV the main game or "3" but they decided to change this during development.

There's REmake 2…if it even exists, they still don't seem to have talked about it or even more info of RE7 yet, bit worrying since its launching next year.

Oh yeah I forgot about REmake 2, does anyone know if it's being made in MT Framework or the new RE Engine? I highly doubt that it will live up to the expectations REmake set, but it'd be cool if it came with Last Escape/Nemesis instead of just eventually remaking that.

Yes, 4 is death in Chinese and Japanese

P4

Except for the part where they're slow as hell, and just stand around, til you actually try to bother them. The only enemies to worry about are the drones, and the hunting shack next door is basically giving away repellant for them.
I just explained why it is, user, and this so-called "terror" of the spec ops works well to reinforce it.
Hipster.
Sure.
Talking about OF. Remember?

Doesn't matter, you're arguing for the sake of it here. And they don't stand around, they come after you on sight and will chase you when you run, AND THEY ARE STILL the toughest non-boss/zombie enemies you find. They take more hits than the Raincoat turds and pose more of a threat than the cult as well, this is all that fucking matters.
The fact that you're arguing that the hardest non-boss enemies in the game are easy only goes to show that DR isn't a challenging game, which proves my original point.
No you ignored why it isn't.
Survival-Horror games don't have respawning items, leveling systems that make you stronger (a-la many a action game), and don't give a lot of power to the player. In DR you never have to think too hard about how you spend your resources or manage your space, because you can just go pick up another item you need anytime you pass through the same area. Keys don't take up inventory space, so puzzle solving and more management is lost from the equation.
Dead Rising is as much a Survival-Horror game as RE4 is, an action game first, with borrowed elements.

More baseless conjecture and a poor attempt at being inflamatory. Basically regurgitated my insult too.
My bad, but in that case you're still a retard since GoldSrc is a heavily modified fork of Idtech 2. Not sure why anyone would ever bitch about skill based movement, but OK.
Don't forget, I was also comparing OpFor to Half-Life's pacing. HL1 takes forever to pick up, puting you through one long ass scripted sequence after another before things really get going. OpFor picks up much quicker, and stays going, in addition to adding more mechanics and enemies to the game. My least favorite thing about the game was the lackluster final boss though. The Nihilanth was much harder and more entertaining than the Gene Worm.

So, assuming the game DOES have mod support, does anyone have any ideas for some cool mods?

Both small additions and major changes

This will be the Hitman: Absolution of Dead Rising. Maybe worse. I bet the script was rewritten to include a lot of references too.

If the Convicts aren't there or the music isn't the same, I will be furious.

The convicts wont be there because it's not the same timeframe. Mall and it's music should be exactly the same though since that's a part of Willamette.

They take a grand total of three seconds to steady their shots, and have blindsides the size of the food court.
Except I alreadu proved my point with how pants-shittingly hard the spec ops are to face, you mover of goalposts.
Except for the fact that most food in the mall perishes, aside from the stuff you'll have to fight a manager to get. This, and the limited durability of most items makes every moment more stressful than the last. The addition of RPG elements does not make a game anything other than what it already is, and puzzles don't make a horror game.
Except DR is more of a Survival-Horror game than RE4 is, as Survival-Horror game with borrowed elements.
Glitching the game to have fun isn't the way things are meant to be. They should be features from the beginning. Not fucking accidents.
So you like it because they made it quicker and added different models to pew at? This, coupled with the aforementioned slow pace of the game that you have to break to have fun in, and even then the scale sucks dick, I'm pretty sure this qualifies for the lowest-common military shooter.

Since it seems to be a straight port, does that mean the Survivors AI will be the same? For some reason, I would prefer that. Trying to save more than 1 person in the original was fucking frustating as shit, but it also felt kind of fun too. The AI improvement in 2 was a improvement, but in a way it also made saving them easy.

I do support the AI fix too, but there also should be variety in that, such as certain survivors kept with the same original AI and others improved, just to see what comes out of trying to rescue them both at the same time.

There should also be mod support to add more survivors, that would be interesting and kek-worthy too.

What makes Frank so likeable ? His character design is very simple and he's average aesthetically but he's still one of my favourite video game character.

Really, the new controls and obviously better performance will take away most of the nuance that the original game gave off. Keeping it as pure as possible is definitely a must.

First thing somebody has to do is rename the coffee creamer to chocolate milk, already. That one's pretty jarring, to begin with, and the removal of all the brown will be second to that.

Exaggerate much? This is why they travel in groups, you go to deal with one and the other two will start shooting and stun you. Unless you have the one handed chainsaw or disembowel ability then you have to be a little bit more careful since it's harder to hitstun them than it is to you.
Actually when I originally brought them up as the toughest non-boss enemies in the game, I was lamenting how DR isn't a particularly hard game. I also said that starting a new game under Overtime (level 1) feels like surviving. You should really learn how to read sometime.
The only food items you should ever use unless you're desperate are orange juice, milk, coffee creamer, and the mixes thereof. If you actually carry around frozen veggies and meat then you're a casual retard, and you need to learn how to play the fucking game.
Git gud.
Go play Resident Evil again little babby. Riddles, puzzles, key item in inventory management, limited resources, and health items are all survival-horror elements that DR lacks.
So combos shouldn't be a staple of Street Fighter then? Accidents can turn into amazing features sometimes, like how wavedashing and L-canceling in Melee changed the entire meta of the game.
Bhopping is only useful in multiplayer anyway due to the level design of the singleplayer.
Gross oversimplification. Each AI has their own quirks and attacks that make you engage them differently. Half-Life's AI was pretty impressive for the time.
No, there's exactly the same. Except that you feel like a lot more of a bad ass as Frank West because of the lack of tank controls and contextual melee. Worth noting that the only real element from a Survival-Horror game that they both carry, the inventory management, is much more unique and fun in RE4 anyway.
Why do you claim to play "horror" games again? Reminder that the only time DR is even remotely unnerving is during Overtime, just because of how unsettling the complete quiet is in the mall after 3 days of noise. Unless you're scared of clowns or butchers.
Go play F3AR, CoD Ghosts, or any of the 2010 CoDclones. There's your LCD.

Frank's what happens when Japanese people decide to consume and regurgitate as much "West" as they can.

Chuck's what happens when Canadians decide to make something deliberately "American", in a venemous manner.

Nick's what happens when Canadians try to make a Mexican into an American(i.e. Ted Cruz).

I guess what makes him likable was the fact that he isn't intended to be likable or bad ass. He's sort of a selfish asshole who just wants his big story first, but when you see the rare moments where he has a heart that just makes you more connected to Frank as a character, I guess thats how you would describe him.

He's honestly more interesting than people think of him as, and probably one of the better characters in vidya because of it

It was frustrating because escort missions, which no one likes in general. This coupled with their braindead AI that would cause them to get stuck on shit and run straight into Zombies. OTR felt like it was a lot harder to rescue them despite the AI upgrade but I'm not sure if this is due to framerate tied logic as I tried it in 30HZ too, or just a garbage port.
Please no, the game is only meant to handle 50. I'd like it more if Psychpaths had zombiefied varients as boss fights, you can already get models for some of these from Chop Til' You Drop and then flesh them out as their own.

More AI exmaples.

So does that mean that canadians can't makes characters for shit ? :^) (granted Chuck was sorta alright)

Now that you say it I agree. He doesn't appear like a hero in cutscenes but still wants to help the people that he can. He also fits very well with the overall tone of the game.

...

This requires you walk down the middle of the hallways like a retard, rather than making breaks for the sides, like someone who wants to avoid getting shot. Again, this is making it sound very helpless, like those other Survival-Horror games. Sure you don't want to admit that?
Hence, it is Survival-Horror. The same can he said for Infinity Mode, which basically gives you the real experience.
We're talking about someone who's playing the game for the first time, like we discussed. Remember? The silly parts of the game are well hidden, and you'll only really be able to mess around once you've leveled up. The game, for most of the part, is definitely focused on Survival-Horror.
Yet the perishing food, limited health, and constant danger makes it very much focused around survival, with the shambling hordes of undead making for quite the same horror experience.
And yet the further development of the source engine basically made it less and less possible to bhop at all. Pretty slow games, if you ask me. Don't count the fans for what the devs do. It's their responsibility, and if the developers keep you cooped up in a tiny building, with a deliberately slow movement speed, then that's the game. Not the glitches.
That's my point. Level design is shit, unlike the simplistic works of DOOM, or Duek.
Yet most of it was wasted on minute details that people are only discovering right now. Tells a lot, when they care more about "nature" than actual combat.
Or the first half of the game, or the entirety of infinity mode, unless you didn't go in blind, like a newfag.
Good examples for how close OpForce comes to them as a father. They're all "different" military FPS games with a snail's pace, unless you break the game itself, and even then, you're confined to the map. Climbable rope doesn't exactly change anything else.

Every video game is Survival-Horror I guess.
But it's not, as it has none of the real defining traits of the genre, which you still have not addressed. It's harder because you're nerfing yourself to play a post maingame gamemode, and the only time where I felt like I had to "surivive" I told you I'd give you that a while ago. Reminder that trying not to die in an action game isn't implicative of any Survival genre. Some normalfag used that as an argument for why RE5 is a Survival-Horror game, and you sound just like him.
Which no one uses, as anyone can figure out that you can just grab the Creamer/OJ spawns in the safe house or Paradise Plaza are, even first time.
They also made it slower and added sprint mechanics in HL2, this is Valve being retarded, and not related to OpFor.
Will you ever not contradict yourself?
Despite the fact that these facts and those clips were known prior to the game's launch, and the game was praised for the AI after it's launch.
Literally retarded, please kill yourself.
You are a waste of bumps, and a hopeless retard.

Chuck was garbage, and Nick is waste.

Only when they center around Survival and Horror, as elements for action and drama, which Dead Rising accomplishes.
Constant threat from horrific monstrosities, limited inventory, slow, helpless movement. Human element to horror. Sounds pretty Survival-Horror, to me, unlike, say, Tetris, which has puzzles in it, so I guess you'd argue for that to be a Survival-Horror, since puzzles make everything.
Nobody's gonna start cramming OJ until they start getting pragmatic with the game, which comes later. I guarentee that everyone who came into the game fresh on release day got very much into the whole "everything is a weapon" element of the game, before word came around about how to get all the cheevos.
Except this slowing was complained about long before HL2 was made. It was with HL1 that hard core types complained about how "movie-like" the game was, but despite that, normalfags loved how slow it was for them. Breaking the game isn't bad, by the way. It's the developers intentions that I complain about.
And the fact it still doesn't mean shit, because people don't want anything other than action when they play a game, and pretending anything otherwise makes a CoD game.
They programmed retreats? That's not very groundbreaking. Good job admitting defeat, by the way.

It's not that 3rd games in a series are always bad. It's gamers who grow up and hate their old toys.

No. I'm pretty sure games are being uprooted by some kind of rather obvious conspiracy, rather than "muh new generation". One of the culprits for this is basically in debt, now.

The only good part of CTYD was saving Cletus, and that was just cutting a scene short, and adding some text for dialogue. The rest of it is trash that completely ruins what made the original great.

Please tell me they're going to unfuck the survivor AI

Will there be a physical release or is it just download only?

That's true, but more boss fights is always fun, I'd take absolutely nothing else from CTYD but the player models for this idea. I don't want a million Madonas running around.

No.

Also no.

I'd rather this be a straight port, than anything else. I mean, I would like to save Cletus, too, but the game is better as it was originally intended.

There'll probably be a mod for that.

There'll probably be a mod for that also

There'll be mods for fucking everything.

Feels like waiting forever, though. For this, and the US presidential debates.

Oh god, please don't tell me theres gonna be a nude 'Frank' West mod

Why would you think of that, of all things?

Well theres mods for everything, and I figure people wanna take it further than the banana hammocks

Seems a bit funny to me, that of all the insane things that could be done with the engine, alone, you think of Frank's frank.

Yeah, just like there were tons of mods for Hatred, or how mods fixed all those other shitty games that ended up having none or no good mods.

You're not even trying.

Needs a servebot head over his dick.

Have fun living in a fantasy world where there will actually be any mods for the game; while back in reality, nobody will bother making any mods.

We were talking about mods dude.

There are already mods for the 360 version, user.

Less than a month to go, boys.

This is gonna be the longest fucking wait ever.

What the hell is going on? Is someone bumping and then deleting their post before my page updates?

Same thing keeps happening with the evolve thread, no idea what the fuck is going on

IT JUST GETS WORSE AND WORSE.

Its like Donte 2

These zombies sound like shit. That voice actor is soooo fucking shitty.
What the fuck are they doing? This whole video literally gets worse as it goes.
