I don't fucking get Pokefags. Why are they so fucking autistic?

I don't fucking get Pokefags. Why are they so fucking autistic?
Game Freak releases the same shitty game, just with new shitty Pokemon designs that Pokefags eat up like candy, they make fanart of it, they make porn of it, everything. They release a shitty mobile game and Pokefags fucking go nuts, even normalfags enjoy Pokemon now. Gen 3 was slow, shit, couldn't even trade Gen 2 Pokemon to the game, and started the trend of fapbait Pokemon. Gen 4 was even slower, added some Physical/Special shit only autistic tourneyfags care about, and some more fapbait Pokemon and forgettable designs. Gen 5 & 6 literally have nothing fucking redeemable about them, but yet Pokefags buy the games and continue to suck Game Freak's cock. Tell me Pokefags, why do you enjoy this shitty game series so much? It wasn't even that good during the Gen 1 and 2 years.

It's a Nintendo series. That should answer your question

well, i assume you're just posting to blow off steam and you already know the answer: money.

Nostalgia really.
But I only hang around showdown these days so I can't be arsed to buy any games.
I shouldn't have bought X or ΩRuby. I regret those purchases every day.

You don't have problem with mario, or zelda, or COD, or BF, or Asscreed, or any other endless franchise releasing the same game for decades, but you have a problem with only one of them?
Why?

.>main series aren't that fun

What exactly do you mean by slow? Slow combat (a problem Diamond and Pearl certainly suffered from), slow to get going, or slow to get to the next generation already? Also, you don't have to be a tourneyfag to appreciate the physical/special slit actually letting Pokemon make better use of their stats, typing, and movepools. Honestly with it would have been done sooner.

Last game I bought was White 2 for the DS. I don't have a 3DS, but from what I hear, I'm not missing a lot and if I ever do want to play Pokemon again, I can just go back to the older ones. At this point I just kind of follow it passively, checking in on it from time to time to see what's new with it (some of the Alola stuff is hilarious though, such as Trump Mongoose and the Exeggutor getting twenty-nine feet taller).

As for Pokemon Go, I really don't get what anyone sees in it, and I refuse to give it a try despite some friends trying to push me to do so (if I wanted to play Pokemon, I have access to plenty of the older games to go back to, and I've seen concerns about Pokemon Go having datamining potential). If one good thing's come of it for me, it's that it's brought the artist of a webcomic I enjoy out of hiding, but there's still no word on whether he's going to resume working on Double K.

I will say that the music for the fifth gen games was pretty nice at times, though some did seem more or less inspired by GF/Ape Incorporated's prior works. I really didn't mind Gen V that much, though the DS wifi having been dead for a few years now hasn't helped things (what with inability to battle or trade online with the DS games anymore, or access the Dream World in the Gen V games at all).

Nostalgia certainly is a powerful thing. HGSS shouldn't be going for as much as they do where I live (they're up to a good $55-60 if complete locally) since I highly doubt those games sold poorly, but it apparently does due to demand.

Why not just ask why people are so smitten with sequels in any younger media?

Because vidya as a medium is something where we can experience handling the characters ourselves, there's much replaying compared to rewatching or rereading books or films, and even so people want more of the same - a bit different, but more of the same.

That's why 3D platformers have stagnated after Super Mario 64, it's just a few twists but the same package, year on year out. Zelda is the same since Ocarina, year in year out, and people want it. Why not the same for Pokemon? Listen to the autistic rage of both casul, normalfags, "gamers" and basement-dwelling cunts when there's some change made to an existing type of game with a lineage. People don't even want change once a certain poitn has been achieved, and this is mostly fueled by nostalgia and hands-on experience.

This is the reason I doubt games will only ever "evolve" to the next step when the older generation dies and only the young rule.

friendly reminder that nintendo's stock rose 8% the day pokemon game got released. it was a smash, brother.

The new pokemons are attractive.

kill yourself furfag

Gen 3 was about the same speed as Gen 1 or 2, if anything, the addition of the running shoes and the Mach bike, Gen 3 would actually be faster than the other two.

Perhaps you should leave the furry boards?

Meanwhile Platinum, HG/SS…

Because having the game full of shit like Kingler who has high attack but no moves to back up those stats made the game that much more fun. The Physical/Special split fixed one of the biggest issues in Gen1 and Gen 2 which is numerous pokemon being utter shit because their stats and moveset didn't synergize well

- Previous pokemon (including the starters) gaining new abilities to not be phased out by powercreep and many other pokemon gaining new roles
- Eviolite made it easier to train weaker pokemon and gave some, not fully evolved pokemon a role on teams, essentially expanding how many pokemon you can use realistically
- Huge visual upgrade from Gen 4 in the overworld and in battle
- Ass ton of new and interesting duo-types (Larvesta, Hydreigon,Terakion etc,)
- A stronger plot-orientated game

- Bugs out of the ass
- Graphics are complete ass, even for the GB games, some of the sprites are just beyond retarded
- 80% of the pokemon were fucking useless due to poor management of stats
- Plot is non-existent and the lore was retarded (Indian elephants anybody?)
- Ghost, Bug and Dragon types were god awful due there being No god damn moves for them. Dragons only got redeemed due to Dragonite having huge stats and a wide movepool.

- Slow as fuck
- Still bugs out of the ass
- Sp.Atk/Sp.Def split - although great, the management of it was beyond retarded and gimped many Gen 1 pokemon
- More useless Pokemon
- Most of the new Gen 2 pokemon you couldn't get access to until post-game, as if the game is embarrassed to have them about
- Bug types were still shit

OP take off your nostalgia goggles, It's retards like YOU who refuse to let go of "Muh Genwun" are the reason why Gen 6 happened, you are the reason why Pokemon Go is a thing. They think people like you are the majority and are trying desperately to get people like you back on board failing to realise you guys are just tards who sit there hissing at everything that doesn't jerk of your nostalgia.

He doesn't criticize pokemon for what it is, he criticizes its fans for buying the same game for 20 years.
How come you can write, but can't read?

To be fair, the plot of most main series Pokemon games is "beat gym leaders, kick local gangsters/ecoterrorists/cultists to the curb, become champion." It's not an issue only Gen I has, and while the stakes seemed to be getting higher with each generation from I to IV, only Gen V made much of an effort to have a bit more substance to the plot, in a similar fashion to how Colosseum and Gale of Darkness were more story driven (albeit somewhere between main series and spinoff). Not sure if Gen VI was also more story driven the way Gen V was; haven't played those since I don't have a 3DS.

I do have to wonder what the Japanese line for that thing with the Gastly (I think that was it) being able to KO an elephant was. Though it wouldn't surprise me if it was the same in Japan and simply a case of early series weirdness before they really settled on what they might want to do with the series further down the line.

The fact that so many Gym leaders only used one new Pokemon, if any, was always an annoyance back then, and the way some like Houndour and murkrow could be seen on enemy trainers but not caught until post game felt like taunting. I do think HGSS has Houndour and Houndoom in the new Safari Zone at least, which I'm pretty sure (though I might be wrong) are accessible once you can get to Cianwood.

...

Makes me wonder, if they ever come out with a Pokemon game set in Canada, if you beat the champion, will they get the win instead?

Only if the champion is also their prime minister

...

It wasn't, They returned to the Gen 1 style of story of Scooby Doo villains but with the bonus of one-note "partners" who have little to no reason for being there. other than to make the game halt still so you can get the fat dude talk about dancing or something.

shit thread

...

Damn. I suppose the notion of having the main series be a bit more story driven was perhaps a bit of a hit or miss point for Gen V with some players that liked the way the prior entries handled their plots instead.

And I swear, Pokemon's needed to step up the rivals. Blue always felt like a good one with enough smarm to make you hate him, and Silver was an asshole to both the player and his own Pokemon, but since then, they've been a bit too friendly to count as an actual rival for the player.

I can understand where he's coming from.

I've never understood the appeal of Pokémon. When I hear people talking about it, almost everything they say just flies over my head. It's like hearing a joke's punchline without hearing the joke first.

...

I can't believe you fell for OPs copypasta

You can't know all the pastas.

Still true though.
