The textures look like they're from a ps2 game, the art-style is horrific, the story is wank and the characters and factions have absolutely no depth, weapon variety does not exist, and they all look, feel and sound like dogshit. They shit all over the series' established lore, give you a suit of power armor and a minigun during the first hour of the game. The physics engine is broken, they've shoved in base building, but there's literally no fucking reason since the enemies LITERALLY spawn outside your front door, even if you mess with the game files and move the spawnpoints outside your base. The game exists solely to milk stupid fucks out of their money, and bethesda don't even care to hide it anymore. The "big bad enemy" the ocean DLC hyped up is literally a fucking mudcrab from skyrim painted red, and it dies in one shot. They didn't even bother to increase it's size, and YOU can fucking do it with the ingame console.

It's a fucking mess of a game, and i shudder to imagine the sort of mouthbreathing braindead waste of oxygen you'd have to be to find any sort of enjoyment out of it.

The fighting is okay but it's essentially a very polished turd, and the settlements are useless and pointless once you realize settlers are invincible. The powerarmor was already ported evenj though it's it's own Mod speaking of Mods Bethesda decided to only release the Creation Kit after about a year and only for their site, combined with the Xbone integration the Modding community has more or less been stillborn for Fallout 4 and the other 3 have lost their shit and experienced an irrevocable schism you're gonna need a script extender as a 'I am not an Xbone player" badge.

I kinda find it sad, that the whole game and its dlcs can be spoiled in a single sentence and the journey to get those endings is a hollow experience.

I mean if you were to spoil New Vegas in a single sentence it would mean absolute nothing and fail to actually spoil anything, there is the whole facade of "I know it is gonna fail I just wanna make NCR grow some balls" Legion, whole "we be wild west but we be USA" NCR with almost every group in it having a different woes… etc.

It has its good moments if you mod the shit out of it but it is a very easy game to hate. The writing is somehow even worse than Fallout 3's but it does have decent combat and once properly modded you can mostly ignore quests and focus on modding your weapons or building settlements. If you're the kind of person that hates Minecraft you will get nothing from this game, but if you are autistic about collecting and building shit then you might like it.

One thing anyone can appreciate though is the overworld has quite a bit of variety considering how big it is. Every location feels pretty distinct, but that goes away once you go indoors and every place turns into a linear dungeon crawl.

Mods I'd strongly recommend would be "Personal Bodyguard" if you like the pawn system in Dragon's Dogma, anything that lets you save when you want in survival mode because fuck that restriction, something to balance weapons like WBO, and any decent settlement mod you can find because they're a neat idea that are terribly executed. By default you can pretty much only make shitty wood structures, settlers are immortal so there's no need to pimp them with armor/weapons, all of the settlements outside of Sanctuary have tiny build areas so you can't get creative unless you want to be stuck in the starting area (no fast travel on survival which is a good thing, but it means you want a centrally located settlement), and there's just not much reason to build anything that isn't storage, a store, or a crafting station. Mods fix all of these to some extent, but nothing has fixed the super clunky UI for it.

Automatron is actually a really good DLC and Far Harbor is pretty alright too. The others are shit and were literally mods, and before anyone talks about how Automatron was a mod, building normal robots is very different from building robots where every piece is modular (robobrain arms with sentry legs with protrectron torso with assaultron head and whatever weapons you want) and custom armor plating like spikes everywhere.

So, Nuka World should be out this month and I hope there's a Boston Salt Party Final Part.

If we're gonna complain about lore rape in Fallout 4 there are far better examples, most notably that the entire game is centered around synths and microchips which completely goes against one of the major elements of Fallout's setting (microchips were not invented), and their explanation is that the Institute did all that shit on their own for no reason other than "for science XDDD" when they could instead be using this insanely powerful technology for something remotely useful.

I don't know what I was expecting really after the shitfest that was Skyrim. I think I'll give this game a miss, downloading the game, then all the cracked patches and DLCs just to then have to download a ton of mods and ensure they all work with each other is not something that I want to do. Speaking of which this is probably the second most annoying Bethesda game to mod (with the first going to Oblivion), Mod Organizer is mostly broken for it so your only option is NMM which is hot garbage. It also handles the plugin list very strangely and they keep fucking with it on every update (presumably to sabotage the nexus in favor of their own bethesda.net, which is also impressively terrible and I don't think it works on pirated copies). It also counts savegames towards the plugin limit of 255 for some reason, and before I realized this was the case I had an incredibly hard time figuring out why the game would crash on startup when I only had like 200 plugins, but of course there were a ton of saves. I would disable a bunch of plugins and then next time it started up I would have to disable more because I had made more saves. As someone who has programmed game engines this is completely nonsensical, and while in some ways it is the least buggy Bethesda game outside of mods (it has never crashed once in game outside of incompatible mods), there are some funny examples of their incompetence like the game logic and loading times being tied to framerate, but not proportionally. With a FPS of 200 the game will run about twice as fast as it does at 60, I don't even know how they managed to fuck up like that. And I can't comprehend how loading times are affected by framerate, this shit is just impressive.

Looking at it now you're right, I've been fucking around with bodyslide but it doesn't let you preview what characters look like when they're the most skinny.

Maybe I fucked up the installation because when I used it, it made it so the game would crash once more than 40 plugins were loaded (and this was with very few saves which apparently count as plugins now towards the limit as I explained in an above post). Well since I've found the only other person on Holla Forums autistic enough to enjoy this game what are some mods you would recommend, aside from the obvious popular ones like homemaker.

I would recommend Unique Uniques (made by the one and only Trainwiz, king of mods and tes lore), Construct a custom companion (works pretty much like pawns in Dragon's Dogma), weapons of fate (turns hitscan into projectiles and adds ballistic physics), and raider overhaul which pretty much just spices up the raiders so they don't just wear boring brown rags and garbage (they get crazy shit like skeleton costumes, smiley face masks, clown gas masks, and some badass power armor paint jobs).

i havent played in a while since its boring and there is no sexmods yet.
and i recently downloaded the 1.6.9 update and the fucking crack wont work so i cant play but i'll give you some mods.

Yeah I was hoping for a way to customize the fat end to be different from the others because I haven't run across a single female NPC that was fat, meaning I could just make my character and slooty custom followers "fat" which would really be unrealistically curvy without making it so that all the female NPCs in the game like old grannies have hot bodies which would look fucking weird. I ended up just doing the ultra curviness onto specific outfits that npcs don't wear by default (like ones from mods or unique outfits) which works out decently.

I was complaining about this too, there is a way but it requires you to go through fucking hoops. i'll just fucking deal with it.

One is an RPG with years of quality mods, a fair amount of depth in writing and roleplaying mechanics and factions with legitimate yet contradictory viewpoints. This is the worst bit about settlements for me. Defense is pretty much exclusively dropping down dozens of automated turrets built from some shit you found. Like, MAAAAYBE vault city did this, and they probably had those turrets sitting around in crates since before the war, exactly for the purpose of fortifying a newly founded vault city.

Like nigga there's even a mechanic for having a settler defend the camp. assign every piece of equipment a defense value, and make the player pimp out their settlers with loot to get those defense points.

The only "medicore" thing about the game was improvement of shooting mechanics over extremely shit Fallout 3 mechanics even then it barely reaches the playability of a PS1 FPS game. But then it is shat on by the game under 30 minutes with bullet sponges.

Everything about Fallout 4 is shit from story to characters. The lazily tacked on settlement system had the most promise but it is completely detached from rest of the game world and so poorly done it is just a more firm shit in a sea of diarrhea shit called Fallout 4.

I didn't say it wasn't a good thing; I said you're fucked if you wanted to do those quests. You'd have to restart the game knowing this. and that's the same as playing with a walkthrough; it takes some of the fun out of the game when you know exactly what to expect.

But still, you could just reload your save if you wanted to take the quest. Killing people just for the hell of it should lock you out of quests.

I don't think anyone is arguing over getting locked out - we all agree that's a good thing, it's just the giant "QUEST FAILED" notifier that instantly lets you know this guy's got something important to say.

It's the fact that the game is still holding your hand and essentially saying "are you SURE you wanna kill that guy? Why not reload a save and talk to him, instead?"

I don't think that's bad, it lets you know why it is that you might be missing some quest.

For example, I cleared out Vault 3 before ever visiting Red Rock Canyon, so I failed to get the Aba Daba Honeymoon (I think that's the name) quest you can otherwise get from the Khans. If I hadn't been told when I killed the Fiends in the Vault that I had just failed that quest, then maybe later I might visit the Khans and wonder "I heard these guys are supposed to give you a quest, why aren't they doing it? Is this a glitch or something?" This way you inmediately know that you've locked yourself out of something. It's not realistic (why should I know when I'm killing the Fiends that these Khans I've never visited would have wanted me to deliver some drugs to them?) but it would help prevent quite a bit of frustration.

Tbh no bethsesda game will top skyrim when it comes to porn mods, there is an amazing amount of content for it.

That's a different matter. Water is quite good at insulating against that kind of radiation, so they drop the spent rods in there until the most radioactive isotopes have decayed and it doesn't need as much insulation. You can actually swim within the top 10 feet or so of those pools, and actually receive a lower dose than standing at their edge, because the water blocks more ambient radiation that you gain from the proximity to the rods.

The water itself doesn't become radioactive; it doesn't work like that. It has to be some other contaminant in the water that is radioactive, and that sort of thing can often be filtered away by something as simple as passing it through a layer of earth.
