How do you see this world in a few decades?

With humanity extinct.

You ever see that film The Road, with Viggo Mortensen?

Like that, but here and there there's walled bourgy enclaves full of skyscrapers and abundance, surrounded by gigantic megacity-scale shanty towns full of starving people who all survive by whoring their children out to the bourgies and their middle managers for potato chips and heroin.

That sounds so fucking cyberpunk.

Walmart will be the first company to introduce on site living and re establish serfdom for the 21st century. This will happen in the next five years and will quickly be echoed by other large companies to increase productivity and profit.

Total surveillance, with no chance of organisation to resistance.

Trump wins: REV UP THOSE MEME'S BOYS

Clinton wins: boring status quo, more war, corrupt media, more idpol,

I mean, just think about what is the end game of global capitalism, they want to destroy all borders and peoples and cultures and shape the world population into a brown mass of consumers led by an out of touch hidden bureaucracy of elites who meet at various conventions at bildeberg and davos every some years.

Okay, where is tech going, 3d printers, boston dynamics, drones, smart phones, the internet of everything, Mega cities filled with roving uncontrollable gangs the weak government can not control.

Also global warming

Maybe a new cold war with russia.

Saudis and quatris funding never ending terrorism then acting like they have nothing to do with it.

economic collapse.

Silicon vally nerd faggots using their money to social engineer their narcissism and control into reality

The endgame of capitalism to prevent revolution. The reason capitalism is so sinister is that it can accept any reforms as long as the basic system remains in place.

This is why hackers where always the protagonists in cyberpunk books.

Hacking is a very valuable skill when the internet is in everything

People will live like peasants again outside of the cities, due to technological change making them unemployable. The people who live in the cities develop something resembling Communism, and won't be interested in subsidizing the peasants. A great deal of effort will go towards defending the cities from invasion.

40 years from now Leftism will have all but extinguished.

Feels GOOD man.

The Pentagon put out a video, or maybe it was leaked, basically saying that this scenario is inevitable.

youtube.com/watch?v=rb9ZV_eFd3I

In 10-20 years somebody will have picrelated. The others will be busy figuring out how does the actual democracy work and how to use it without killing too many people.

Communism.

Each corporation wants to have their own religion, their own nation, their own everything. That includes their own consumers.

Just because they fight against existing nations doesn't mean that they will not create their own.

That doesn't work like this. You are assuming CIA/NSA/…, all the 3-letter agencies and their equivalents everywhere are actually there because they want to protect Capitalism.

That's not the case. The whole mess is a mess because nobody is in charge. They'll invent fake threats, push public into hysterical paranoia, start witch-hunts, and be oppressive - because they want funding.

Im pessimistic tbqh.

I don't think they want to protect just "capitalism;" assuming they know what it is, which I doubt; they want to protect the state and its dominion over humanity (which they call "our country," "civilisation," "our way of life," or some other disgusting, jingoistic garbage). They want to prevent any and all defiance or resistance to the dominion, hence their going so far as to scan individual private E-mails and skype conversations for any potentially subversive content. They want to have such deep and powerful surveillance that it makes any opposition impossible to organise. See everything, hear everything; total security is the goal.

By 2050 Europe will be fascist. A major world war will have been fought, and both China and Russia will essentially be American puppet states. It's possible that Russia goes fashy along with the rest of Europe, but it won't matter because in the end fascist Europe and the weird-ass modern fascism it will follow will wage a war of extermination on Muslims. With oil supplies firmly in European hands, America will pretend nothing ever happened and let them have their way.

In the Americas, any country that tries to push back against the encroaching forces of capitalism is subject to prompt and overt military invasion under false pretenses in order to protect American profits. Cuba will have long been a puppet state, perhaps outright conquered. The social norms of 2050 will be horrific. The rich will live in pristine Utopias shielded from the increasingly harsh environment while the poor have no choice but to do their bidding. There will be no middle class. The militaries of countries within the American Sphere will have their officer ranks filled with those that openly and publicly purchase officer commissions, and ultimately would be worthless against any numerically equal for due to this. The planet will be in its death throes, and no action will be taken to stop its demise. Perhaps we will run out of fossil fuels entirely and switch to renewable energy, but more likely we will find new and better ways to get them. If we run out of oil then we make biofuel to pollute with instead, if we don't do that then we go to fucking Titan for our power. Mega cities of slums will constantly be occupied by military forces that put down any strike with lethal force before it can become known to anyone, and all media will be censored to the point that the average man will not even know of the former existence of any other world. By 2070 or so, something will change. Either a mass extinction event begins to kick into full swing as a result of the endless exploitation of our world in the pursuit of meaningless sheets of paper, or a revolution actually does come (most likely in the form of a coup, as most will not even know the concept of revolution). If the latter is the case, then it may still be too late. If no way is found to reverse climate change, then the best case scenario is that Earth dies and humanity lives on in space under a communist system.

I came up with an RPG setting to something of that effect. I still haven't gotten any calls back about joining the campaign from anywhere I posted it except for one guy in the recent lefty/tg/ thread that I couldn't respond to because of the e0001 error. :(

Basically The Road crossed with Fallout

I don't see that happening, because they want to offset the cost of labor to other sectors of society. As well as having your workers living in crowded apartments and buying their own food is probably cheaper than organizing it on site. But I don't know, maybe im wrong and they'll do it too avoid workers paying taxes on income

I will destroy the left from inside

Climate change will displace millions
Giant megacities
Corporations that are so big they aren't beholden to governments
Even bigger gap between rich and poor
Automation that creates large levels of unemployment and crime
Rise in fascist and anarchist political groups
Most of the media will be owned by two or three corporations
Slum cities within cities

Basically cyb as fuck

Pt1
Crisis of profitability will lead to Japan type stagnation all over the world if outright economic crisis and depression isn't in full swing
Old media will lose control over people's political ideas, people will become more open to radical political ideologies on both sides.
The"left" will continue to want a return to social democracy style reforms, which will only exacerbate crisis of profitability by increasing the cost of labor. This will also drive automation unemployment.
Racial conflict. Automation and crisis of profitability will cause high unemployment. Poor blacks made unemployable by automation will just blame the lack of jobs on racism (fomented by media that wants to avoid taking about the real causes). Poor whites will blame it on affirmative action giving blacks all the jobs and immigrants doing jobs that aren't automated yet (janitorial jobs and other un-automated labor) (fomented by media that wants to avoid taking about the real causes)
Right wing governments will get into power where there is huge immigration, and hopefully they'll just do mass deportation and not dismantle democracy, ban free speech, and genocide minorities. (Fascism probably bring the most dangerous thing to come out of future crisis and social tension)
I don't think there will be war between nation States, as no one in power actually wants that.
The number of people employed by capital worldwide will fall because of automation. Huge ghettos of unemployable proles essentially outside of capitalism will continue to form. We're already seeing this (flint Michigan for example. Or parts of the congo.)
Terrorism and insurrectionary movements will emerge in those places, as we see now. This is where wars will be waged to feed military contractors. As of already the case.

the modern age is cold wars, proxy wars, cyber wars and asymmetrical war, (and ultra rare pepe nuclear war)
The old way of war in ww2 will never happen again

I reckon as people become more disenfranchised with the government, you're going to start having a shit load of anarcho-syndaclist movements/ societies popping up.

Fascists will rise and fall as they usually do, SJWS will be a thing of the past, etc.

Japanese corporations already commonly do this, but it's fundamentally different in a lot of ways that shouldn't go unmentioned; primarily, instead of housing the poor and chronically jobless, the companies often house skilled professionals in lodgings they own as well. Still, there's some rough precedent here.

Like think about it, we are headed to the cyber punk nightmare, a corporation creating housing for it's employees will just be the crossing of the rubicon to full nightmare.
It will be like some mixture of a cult, a corporations, a nation, a gang, all headed by the dear leader CEO, with a steve jobs or elon musk like cult of personality. The only time you see his face is the mandatory corporate meetings where he gives you advice on how to be productive and talks in a prose that would be described as never ending TED talk

Personally im going to join the Disney republic instead of the walmart nation.

All depends on whether things continue the way they are going or if we can have major reforms to turn some of the corruption around…

If we allow the corruption to continue at the rate it has been increasing, well, life will become utter hell for ordinary people, and it will bring about misery, poverty, social unrest, terrorism, anarchy, secession movements / nationalist movements, defecting agents / more damning leaks / more whistleblowing, animosity / strong distrust, possibly armed rebellion, possibly civil war…. You'll know when those days arrive, and you won't like it, no one will.

On the other hand… if we curb the horrible corrupt policies and establishment agendas for empirical hegemony, we may have a chance to turn things around for the better… but it will be an uphill struggle, an uphill fight. We may be able to save middle classes from falling, we may be able to decrease some poverty in the world, we may be able to save some of our freedoms, we may be able to ease the tension a bit, we may be able to trust one another again, we may be able to see some transparency, we may be able to live safely without having to fear for our lives…

That all depends. It's up to you youngin's!

No it isnt, you oldfucks had a chance int he 60's, failed, sold out, created the nightmare we live in now.
You know who controls our fate now.
Lobbyist groups, the oligarchy, silicon valley, wall street, various entrenched aristocratic business families.

Get a load of this liberal!

The problem isn't with "corruption" or "establishment agendas" or "disappearing middle classes."

It is with the capitalist mode of production, pure and simple. This is why we have such massive poverty in the midst of unprecedented advancements in technology and productivity. Reform won't fix this, it will just prolong the life of this shitty system.

Thankfully, we seem to have run out of reforms and this whole shitshow seems to be finally ending. The question now is whether its decay will lead to revolution or to barbarism.

And yet we still have many liberals like yourself spouting this shit, either out of genuine ignorance or mercenary self-interest. Maybe both. Educate yourself.

Western nations won't have jobs in the future if robots are allowed to take our jobs and the rest of the skilled jobs get outsourced. If you think your prediction is bad, think again: dying in the street with nothing to eat is even worse.

Already happened. Welcome to globalism: global fascism! Where individual governments and union nations (like the EU & BRICS) work to protect the interest of corporations!

Pretty much already happened. Not too much more wealth can be sucked out from the working stiffs. Sooner or later, they'll all be broke too. Only a matter of time, you'll see. Meanwhile, the super rich are all tax exempt, living in their offshore luxury resorts / safe havens. They no longer need us. We are now sheep to be fed to the wolves.

Very true. If people think outsourcing jobs is bad, just wait till this is allowed to happen! We'll see billions of people around the globe dying in poverty!

One major miscalculation though… who will be there to buy their services and goods? Once we peasants die off in poverty, the businesses and their robot slaves go down with us too. But hey, the elites have consolidated enough wealth, they can live without us at that point! Depopulation is an elitist agenda after all!

What you consider "fascism" or "anarchy" may not be so: people will be so desperate, so miserable, so poor, so hungry, so angry because the corrupt system failed them and backstabbed them. They will have no other choice but to form extremist alternatives, trying to escape from the nightmare they call a life! Don't be so eager to judge them… you may become one of them sooner or later.

I'm not blaming your generation for anything, nor should you blame my own.

Corruption is the problem here… and it has been going on for a long, long time. And it is an even bigger problem today.

We either reform it, or fall under subjugation to it. As us old folks are dying, the future will be up to you.

The capitalists wont do that, they know given the choice between starving and fighting people are going to chose fight.
They will implement some form of neo feudalism, or just give people money or make fake pointless jobs.

...

I can see eventual resource depletion and mass die offs, and cannibalization, coupled with Oil Wars(tm) leading to eventual accelerations in climate heating. While at the same time people eventually get their minds downloaded into computers/making themselves into cyborgs just to survive the initial shocks of the climate. I can see developments in heat resistant technology being a possibility. Of course there will also be the increase in crisis with continued automation, with a very slight chance of eventual nuclear winter.

Sounds like a dream

We had it "so good" because the policies were not as flawed/corrupt as they are now. But keep in mind that back in the day everyone was expected to pull their own weight too, if you like to call that "having it good" go right ahead. Perhaps it was a bit better than it is today.

When policies become flawed, and corruption becomes rampant, you won't see much fruit growing from society.

TBH I do kinda wanna see cyborgs streetfighting in radiated snow.

When empires are first formed, people become enriched as the nations develop. Over a period of time as people become more decadent, lazy, uninformed and spoiled, the empires will collapse into tyranny and corruption will increase in order to maintain control/hegemony. History often repeats itself. What the future of our fallen empire will look like remains to be seen.

Pt2
Climate change will exacerbate social tensions by preventing the unemployed proletariat from being able to subsistence farm. This will lead to heightened immigration and insurrectionary movements. We won't see the really fucking huge mass immigration caused by rising sea levels for a very long time, however.
Climate change will exacerbate the crisis of profitability by making everything More expensive.
The crisis of profitability will cause increased attempts by corporations to control governments. They'll fund a right wing populist like Trump if they don't think a regular corporate drone can get elected. They can support anyone on the left or right as long as they promise not to raise taxes on them, regulate them, our engage in socialist production.

Resource shortages may be big. I'm not as informed about this though. If precious metals and rare earth metals ARE in shortage soon, that's a big fucking deal for the profit rate and crisis. It would also slow down automation growth, which would help profitability for some capitalists (smaller capitals) and slowdown growing unemployment

If phosphorous runs out, you can say good bye to civilization all together. We need that for fertilizer.

Why the fuck shouldn't I? The boomers are scum and deserved to be flayed to death

t. Liberal parent in Facebook

You already allowed it. You're posting on one of the last places where young people aren't brainwashed and even then 75% of the userbase are holocaust denying holocaust enthusiasts and the other 25% are socialists being turned into nihilists and nuclear war enthusiasts.

We'll be sure to carve boomerz woz ere into the irradiated glass floor for you!

How do I not be sad when thinking about the future if I'm not a legit posadist?

Socialism or neofeudalism. Capitalism can no longer cope with its contradictions and will either be overthrown or collapse to some authoritarian, dystopian corporate state.

Global warming will probably trigger thermonuclear war.

You had it good because there was high profitability in the whole economy (%return on capital invested), now only oligopolies are offering high returns on investment and it can only get higher if new forms of exploitation are introduced or other ways of raising profits (cutting wages, cutting taxes, higher government deficits, low interest rates) but that all hits a wall since we've been in the neoliberal period

Pretty much.

Lmao when I worked there my coworkers and I would joke about this.

How would that happen?

You realise that this is an extremist board, right? We're way ahead of you, fam.

This image is all you need to know.

The entire world will soon look like a run down slum.
