Ignored countless warnings from everyone from his own spies in Germany to foreign intelligence agencies to Winston Churchill himself that the Reich had amassed forces and an invasion was imminent.

When Operation Barbarossa was launched, his initial reaction was one of denial followed by a breakdown that saw him isolate himself and leave his subordinates without instructions for three whole days. Meanwhile, the fascists were buttfucking the disorganized and uncoordinated Soviet units, seizing tons of land and capturing men and resources. Three days without any real strategic planning to effectively regroup and counter the fascist swarms weakened the USSR's position on the front severely.

this, WW2 just demonstrates how incompetent Stalin was

The Bolsheviks always opposed war with Germany, they even came to power on that with the treaty of brest litovsk. Russia and Germany are the most populated countries in Europe. A war with them could only have devastating consequences for the people of Europe. It was their duty to do EVERYTHING possible to avoid such a war. Even to consider the possibility that an initial attack may be from a rogue general this isn't "denial" its just an attempt to prevent a full scale war which would be massively destructive.

When it was realized that it was a full scale invasion and that war was unavoidable then the order was immediately given to fight back so the notion that there was no instructions for "three days" is ridiculous. The Soviet positions were weakened because the Nazis provoked the war which gave them an initial advantage but it also gave a massive moral advantage to the Soviet Union as the fascists were exposed as aggressors to the whole world. The Soviet Union under Stalin organized a superior defence and emerged victorious in the end. Stalin played a key role in numerous battles including the battle of moscow when he stayed in the city well others evacuated.

What a stupid statement. The Soviet Union was able to avoid a much dreaded two front war against both Germany and Japan well at the same time on both these fronts the United States was an ally. Producing this result demonstrates considerable competence in the field of international relations.

Those kulaks fucking had it coming.

Most anti-Stalin propaganda was created by revisionists who wanted to discredit the Soviet nation.

Can you all even imagine what is it like to be dumb enough to write this?

Yes, after Stalin allowed them to grow strong and wealthy for half a decade they really "had it coming"

All you need to know about Stalin is right here comrade:

autism

Tankies are morons, Stalin deserved to be burned at the state.

Along with Mao.

I'm sure what he said doesn't reflect what most of this board think at all, right?

Most of you retards still give Stalin credit for "industrializing the Soviet Union" given that he was the main hinderance to it for the best part of the 20's. There's zero knowledge here of how Stalin was an obstacle for several things he gets credit for, from crushing the kulaks to defeating Germany.

The bad planning and mistakes during and leading up to WWII are one thing, forced collectivisation leading to unnecessary hardship, and purges are another, but the worst crime of stalinism is that it created the culture of a political bureaucracy indirectly controlling workers' councils, and the bureaucracy looking after it's own interests before those of the workers they represented.

This led to the building of socialism to be perverted into whatever you want to call the USSR throughout it's history. The 'revisionism' of Khrushchev and others was a direct result of the opportunism introduced by Stalin, whether on purpose in a malicious way or simply as a product of self preservation and improvement, it doesn't matter. The bureaucracy was self serving first, and this is Stalin's biggest crime.

The only reason why the Russians and Japs weren't fighting was because the Soviets thoughougly spanked them in the Soviet-Japanese border war, and because both the Russians and Japs had bigger fish to fry. The Japanese decision to attack America and the German decision to attack Russia was literally a coincidence, it wasn't engineered by Stalin.

"Kulaks had it coming" has been a commie joke while you were still a sperm

ITT buthurts Trots trying to damage control

Why would Trots need damage control? Like, what damage was done? You're talking as if Stalin was this immensely popular figure and everyone considered the Soviet Union an example to be followed.

The only "damaged" done was that of Stalin to the ideas of Socialism and Marxism, and unfortunately we all have to do the damage control over this one.

Literally no one has claimed that Stalin killed "trillions". They've just been criticizing his WW2 strategy for the most part. Everything else in this thread is a shitpost

Your thinking of lenin

His argument was that Stalin made the idea of socialism synonymous with the practice of state capitalism, and your argument was..?

I assume "it wasn't state capitalism", since you are a predictable Stalinist, but the point still stands that Stalin made socialism synonymous with the failure of the USSR.
