When I stopped playing video games It took me a good 6 months before I had zero desire to play games.
After your brain finally loses the addiction you will feel that playing video games is a waste of time.

You're both right to an extent, but that's because it depends on the person and their environment. Some will explain away some major event that challenges their bullshit worldview, especially if they are not forced to face it in a critical manner and have a "support group" to reinforce it.

But there is a reason why your biggest diversity proponents are rich people who don't live anywhere near the people they advocate for and, if they have encountered a "minority", have dealt with the affluent and most likely educated of that group.

Not going to tell anyone what to do, but these are much better arguments than the one presented in the OP and enough to stop (as you put it) without the feeling of giving up on something. Not to say that the OP is wrong, but it does not create incentive to those without another hobby. It is more encouraging to do something then stop doing something. One such hobby is exercising, as it can take up the evening slot at least 3 times a week. One the days in between (for a beginner) you can learn how to incorporate new exercises and so on. Read a book and take walks in the forest, and if you get some time left then do what the fuck you want.
