Canada General?
what are your thoughts on the left, political movements, late capitalism, conservatism, liberals, our two tiny communist parties, the state, activists, SJW and anything else that is currently going on in your own backyard?

We have 3 tiny communist parties friends. Communist Party of Canada, Communist Party of Canada (ML), and Revolutionary Communist Party.

i heard somewhere the rev. communist party was bait/underground/full of cops or something ???
Can't you guys just stay in the America thread?
it's just IDpol
CPC-ML is best btw
Ontario might be getting basic income ($22 000/yr as early as 2017)
But national politians tell the workers to just get used to precarious labour, less pensions, less job security.
its just IDpol?
idk their website says they literally want to make a red army
which i think is stupid and wrong.
what makes CPC-ML the best? I'm always surprised to see them on my ballot when I go to vote
I think we should just resurrect Tommy Douglas, kill Trudeau, and make Tommy the PM.
I think the socialist caucus in the NDP is correct in stating that the NDP is becoming too capitalist, but for a while during the last election, they seemed like our best shot at getting something done. They lost by a landslide, but I was still glad to see them make it as far as they did. Might be time to make some reforms to the parties while we're dealing with the next four years of the pocket con.
this tbh
yeah we're still dealing with layton changing it to a centrist party.
altho, isn't there literally no mp in the socialist caucus? and literally a handful of people involved?
To me, I think our unions should be radicalized, I don't see any way the state in canada will willingly do anything anti-bourgeois
Not to be too harsh, but yeah, it seemed to me that the caucus, whether it's self-aware in this regard or not, was never meant to be anything substantial. Like, I think it was/is relying on reminding people of the spirit of the NDP. It may be a lost cause at this point, but I nevertheless think they have useful opinions.
I haven't lost the desire to try and work on the NDP, but I am aware that alternatives should also be advocated. If that means radicalization, so be it. I think whatever avenues can be pursued should be, and I would get behind whatever seemed most successful.
well there's always the communist party/ML party
So the point is the left literally doesn't exist in canada, so we can do anything we want right?

It seems like there's shit all in Edmonton, everybody is a lib
