A little tip: The strength of Molerats and Cockroaches are based on the level of the room. Max level rooms are sometimes a challenge to level 50s, and by the way level 1 rooms have nearly the same production but not storage as max level. Only upgrade rooms when you are super comfy.

The version I downloaded off KAT does not use the launcher.
It was funny, but the fact that the game foists an unwanted party member into your limited slots (especially since Charisma dictates how large your party can be) is a pain in the ass. A lot of the game is like that- it's more concerned with showing you a pop culture reference (like the Scientology cult that plays a huge role in getting the Oil Tanker running) or a random joke (like the talking Deathclaws who are essential to the plot) over building an interesting world for the player to enjoy.
New Vegas was done at a point where the developers had MATURED out of that stage of their life. There's ONE Monty Python reference in the game and only if you take Weird Wasteland, for example.
Fallout and Fallout 2 have the worst inventory systems in any non-text game I've ever played.

I know what you mean, but Fallout has a special level of terrible. You have to scroll through your entire inventory to find things, there's no search function, and the most recent acquisitions are on top. Additionally, currency is held in inventory instead of in a separate bar of its own and selecting individual items or specific numbers is a (small) pain.
