What is the most absolute biggest pile of bullshit you've ever been taught about socialism/communism in school?

I got fed the exact same line of bullshit about equal wages in high school. Then those same people use that argument to justify massive CEO paychecks because muh fair compensation.

I remember one of my high school teachers telling the whole class with a straight face that "communism is when everyone gets the same wage".

More worryingly, I also remember reading in my high school History manual that the core tenet of "communism" was central planning.

Capitalism is so fragile that you can't even teach people about what conflicting ideologies actually are without strawmanning the fuck out of them or misrepresenting what they are entirely.

In ancomistan I'd see no problem teaching about what capitalism actually is.

he also made us play a game where the class was split into 6 different groups and told to make cars out of paper, some groups made more cars then others then the teacher said "in communism it doesn't matter how many cars you make out of paper, you all get paid the same 10 dollars to live on for a year, no matter how hard you work"

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. The class had insisted that capitalism, unburdened by government interference, was the only way to end up with a truly workable society and that left to their own devices the successful would create sufficient wealth that the tide of income would lift all boats.

The professor said, "Okay, we will have an experiment in this class on unfettered capitalism." Students were assigned positions in the "class corporation" based on their parent's income in order to reflect the benefits of being born to parents of various means. No one even in the fucking USSR thought it was communist, it was socialist. When we (children of soviet immigrants) told the teacher this she just said "communism doesn't contradict socialism".

I dunno about the worst but they wasted hours of our time talking about how schools in the USSR taught nothing but indoctrination, which between that and all the school spirit shit they pissed away time on is pretty damn ironic. It wasn't even part of the curriculum, just the shit the smugfag math teacher and the jackass english teacher in love with the sound of his own voice felt the need to sperg out about periodically. We also got to hear about Stalin and Mao personally killing 500 gorillion bajillion people for no reason and with no extenuating circumstances like the revolution itself or World War Fucking II. Baby Boomers, not even once.
