My thoughts: Antifa leadership doesn't give a shit if some commie beta trying to score some hairy pussy dies to advance the cause.
Anything but a well documented and clearly legal use of lethal force at this event will make leftists look good in the media.
Nobody reported on the shooting in Seattle because it didn't fit the narrative, but a confederate shooting a leftist in the South? That's like presenting a win to the media on a silver platter.
The defense teams should be well regulated, documented (shitloads of cameras, if you have a gun wear a body camera to defend yourself AND the cause), and able to scale their force as necessary.
My idea on how to structure the defense, your insight is appreciated:
1. Front line class defenders should be melee & shield only, and should be a mix of well-presented Southern gentlemen, the bigger or more handsome the better. If any of you are, or are friends with, black confederates or confederados, tell them what's up and see if they'd be willing to stand on the front lines.

2. The secondary class of defenders, armed with firearms loaded with non-lethal ammunition, is ready to escalate if absolutely necessary. This is risky as all hell because a firearm typically means a complete breakdown of civility and, once shots are fired, things can quickly spiral out of control, but I believe sparing life whenever possible would be an unexpected twist in the narrative.
3. The third class of defenders, armed with lethal concealed firepower, is available if non-lethal firepower fails and there is no other choice but to utilize lethal force.
4. The fourth class of defense is hidden and at the ready with heavier firepower should the situation escalate to a massive degree (large scale gang banger gunfight, ISIS co-opts the event, antifa ambush with airsoft rifles, etc). God help us if the situation ever comes to this.
In summary:
Responding to Antifa's insults and lesser melee attacks with unnecessary lethal force would likely garner sympathy for antifa, generate backlash for the South (aka the Real America), and possibly destabilize the balance between whites and blacks in the South.
Antifa should be humiliated with force not exceeding that which they themselves commit. But if the defending side does use firepower, ideally it would a) be non-lethal to show that consideration was given to even the life of a violent criminal, and b) be recorded in high definition and immediately uploaded on social media to subvert the media's spin.
