It's a shame that the contemporary trend of cashing in on low effort art has spoiled people's interest in abstract art. Although simple and at times requiring little technical skill, there's a lot to be said for simply playing with color.

That this hierarchy would also provide them with security and material comfort is icing on the cake.

Of course, this is a very big if that all this is pinned upon. As much as we may want to see a peaceful transition of power, we cannot be certain of its feasibility and must be prepared to accept the alternative. The established elites are unlikely to admit their faults, less likely to make meaningful reforms, and would only accept a peaceful transition after Hell has frozen over. At a bare minimum, certain key individuals and their retinues will need to be physically removed, as they have grown too large and too distant to be trusted. These are individuals who would be willing to sacrifice untold numbers of lives to preserve their grip on power, so war is something that must be accepted as being within the realm of possibility.
