Aku seems evil in a sense of lacking seemingly all virtues; he's lazy, greedy, and only cares about himself, and he seems to put more effort into what gains him wealth and power. Earth seems to be mixed between massive crime-ridden cities and miles of wilderness more out of neglect than tyranny; it seems that as long as you don't get in the way of anything Aku wants, he doesn't care what you do. Most of the problems Jack deals with are results of the world being ruled by a neglectful dictator who does not care about solving anyone else's problems.

This reflects on how he deals with Jack; he's become bored, frustrated and even in existential crisis because everything he's thrown at Jack doesn't work, and his attempt to just wait him out til he dies of old age hasn't either. They're in a stalemate, which is incredibly frustrating for both of them. (though obviously Jack is all kinds of fucked up after half a century of pointless carnage while Aku is merely mildly depressed, because the latter has no empathy or honour to give him grief)

Not anything super unexpected or plot-revealing, though it seems they're avoiding the approach by having her encounter what Jack does more naturally.

I knew Ashi was going to still be alive, I even kind of expected there to be a romantic element, so I'm okay with these developments provided they don't do anything retarded like give her the sword or have her kill Aku in the end. This should be the finale to Jack's story, not Ashi's, she can play a role but it should not be that of Jack's.

As for him getting the sword so late, I'm cool with it. I do hope we get to see pic related officially though, I want one more flesh and blood action sequence before the finale.

Not only does every complaint I had about Baldwin's Aku in Episode XCIII (i.e. him sounding more Mexican) still apply, but now he's a slurred drunkard.

Though if the entire episode is about the Scotsman and his army vs Aku, it'll be entertaining at least.

That's really the only way they could do it and I'd be upset. From what I understand though, from the leaked episode summaries, it's meant to develop into something vaguely romantic before the show ends. Which I'd be okay with because I doubt it'll take up too much of the show.

Like I said, so long as she doesn't get the sword and kill Aku in the end, I'm fine with her role in the story as Jack's morality rock. A passing of the torch thing could be fine if it means Jack goes back to the past, but she stays in her future as a wandering hero like him, but I'll only be okay with that if it's after Aku is killed.
