TMNT

Yo let's have a TMNT thread. Alopex was recently saved in the latest issue and it's been made canon Raphael loves her because:

"She's a loner and I'm a loner."

That's what you get when you hire stupid ass shippers to write this junk. Anyone else feel that Alopex as a character is entirely shit tier? All she is, is Raph's Cock Holster. Fuck that transsexual faggot being hired as the writer of the latest issue.

Apparently it was Angel who got the ball rolling into actively sparking the romance between Raph and Alopex so expect Angel to do this for Alopex in the upcoming TMNT Universe story arc. Man what a miss.

Alopex was completely ruined by this shipping shit. Some female characters can totally be fondly remembered despite being mere love interests like Maid Marian from Disney's Robin Hood. But Alopex? When you compare her to Old Hob or Donatello's human scientist friend? She really is shit.

Anyone else agree?

I haven't been keeping up, hows the IDW line so far?

Well the recent story arcs? Not so well. Right now they're still in a "setting up" kind of phase like Bishop is still not established fully. The Christmas Issue didn't accomplish much and as stated the latest in the ongoing? Alopex gets rescued from Kitsune.

TMNT Universe on the other hand had an interest one shot story with Old Hob meeting Leatherhead. Followed by another one shot involving Mikey and a different Female Cop. Honestly right now IDW TMNT is sort of mehish because once Shredder was offed? It lost all sense of direction.

She's just poorly done but I don't think she's a bad character. She just isn't made to be as interesting or fun as someone like Hob.

I'm only keeping up through the volumes so I'm a bit behind. But isn't the whole direction going towards the new threat of Kitsune possibly resurrecting Shredder, the new gang or group with the phasing cloaks, Leatherhead being at large, and the evil general Utrom that's a callback to the 2003 TMNT cartoon Shredder? Isn't that where it's all going right now?

Neither was Renamon from Digimon or Krystal from Starfox and yet those vixens are fondly remembered.

Guess that when it comes to fox characters the archetype Alopex embodies is extremely bland and as a result disappointing. Hell even her dynamic with Angel is pretty boring. It's also hilarious how the latest issue ended with Alopex making a comment about Harold's new wife, but keep in mind that in the entire series we've never seen a page of Harold and Alopex talking to each other despite being in an alliance together. Alopex is just blatantly mishandled. She's not a cunning trickster who plays to the strength of trickster fox either. In fact it's Kitsune who represents this with her mindfucks.

Don't mind me just checking these dubs. I never really watched TMNT as a kid, my mom wouldn't let me watch it for some reason.

You're right about Kitsune wanting Shredder's corpse to bring it back so she can use it as her tool.

Leatherhead being in the city hasn't been expanded upon enough yet but it seems promising. Chre'll the evil utrom general hasn't even really been shown yet. And the new gang with the cloaks? I'm not going to spoil it, but they're not a factor anymore.

They're literally only remember because horny teens being impressionable. Literally no other reason.

Really underutilized as a character to the point that she may as well not be one. Really I would've had her join the Mutanimals and then she does stuff with them. Angel being a vigilante with her for Harold was an okay idea but only really Angel has had enough screentime to really get the sense of her character. Alopex doesn't get that.

Well those last two are really lame! The Utrom general thing is exactly what they should be focusing on. The cloaked gang should've been something considering how they hyped them up as a new threat. Disappointing. Western comics in a nutshell I guess

I'm just glad they didn't make her into another token lesbian to be honest.

Krystal was literally just fox Zelda, Renamon was interesting in being basically a Digimon who took herself seriously and wasn't a bad guy, angsty or both. Compared to most Digimon characters in earlier seasons being pretty interchangeable on the good guys' side and literal cartoon villains on the antagonist side.

That's a good point. I'll take poorly underused character over character is now a lesbian for brownie points any day.

To be fair Krystal is fondly remembered because Miyamoto literally destroyed her game. She was meant to be a feline looking anthro who was raised by a sorcerer along with her brother and they each tried to go on their adventure to save Dinosaur World.

Miyamoto forcing Starfox essentially got rid of Sabre (Krystal's brother) and turned her into a damsel. So I guess that sort of awful treatment nets her points with the fanbase.

Renamon however was indeed interesting. Another neat element to her is how professional she was about her Guardian obligation towards her tamer. She also was so used to her profession as a sneaky shady fox that being asked to eat dinner in public made her uncomfortable, as a Digimon Renamon was a slave to her species and its instincts. The other Digimons just felt like Non-Human pals of the human kids with the same maturity to boot. Renamon on the other hand is probably the only Digimon who feels adult in mentality sort of like how Mewtwo from Pokemon is the only Pokemon that has an adult mindset.

Anyway, Alopex at the current time can just be described as a shallow fluffy woobie type character and that's not a compliment. Especially given the rest of her characteristics like repeatedly being mind controlled by Kitsune or being Raph's cock holster.

Incidentally why did Alopex request drinking Hot Chocolate? She's a fox she can't eat that stuff. Mikey in an earlier issue called out that fact foxes can't stomach chocolate.

Im glad they didn't shoe horn her in Star Fox Zero

Hey Holla Forums

She's a masochist.

The characters that needed to be shoehorned into that game were Fay and Miyu. Seriously how many times has Starfox's first game been remade and not once have these two made cameos. Oh but the male characters from SF2 and Star Wolf? They get regurgitated again and again.

Fuck the literal Fur Faggotry.

HOW DARE YOU!

Was this one any good? I enjoyed some episodes I sporadically watched. Last thing I knew they were doing an space arc, that is always shit in most TNMT incarnation. Also, the theme song was pretty catchy.

Renamon and Krystal had their moments. Renamon is a loyal ninja like character while Krystal was… Well, a girl hanged in a bigger crystal.

That's ironic considering Star Fox Adventure is a Zelda rip-off.

Well, look at it this way, user, if Dinosaur Planet was made instead of Star Fox Adventures, we wouldn't have such a QT, so cute that a generation remember her I was obsessed with her for a while, although I don't particularly like furries, I just like her specifically

Cartoon was good for a bit. Stopped watching after Seth Green took over as Leo. Haven't gone back since but his first season there was awful.

The cartoon really turned to shit thanks to a lot of awful writing. Also April in there is a super ultra Mary Sue piece of shit. The last aired episode really upped the ante with how supreme she is. She's basically X-Men's Phoenix (Jean Grey) right to a T. She even brags to be the only person who consistently hurts the new Super Shredder while the turtles are useless.

Man I really fucking hate it when Gynocentric fucks write female characters.

That's even worse than I imagined. Jesus.

When you say "furries" you mean the people or the characters who are anthros? Anyway I'll give Starfox Adventures some credit where it's due, Krystal's design is indeed neat looking. I find it weird how many people bitch about Krystal having blue fur, yet Katt who predates Krystal has unnatural pink fur and no one bats an eye.

It gets worse, April uses her powers to kill Donatello EXACTLY like how Jean Grey did in X-Men 3's movie. And you know how in that movie the characters stay dead? April is so powerful she reconstructs Donatello's cells particle by particle and effectively revives him.

The idea of making April a motherfucking mutant from X-Men IMO has been a disaster. Same to turning Karai into a mutant who is also NOT a mutant because she still looks mostly human who has a special mutation as well so retro-mutagen doesn't work on her. It's seriously stupid writing.

Uh, guys, the reason Dinosaur Planet was changed to Star Fox Adventures is because Nintendo was going to lose ownership of anything and everything with the game when Microsoft bought Rare.

WHAT

That's… that's all so fucking stupid!

At least the fox will make an appearance Though she isn't white

Nick TMNT Alopex has nothing in common with the original. She's a human girl who got mutated and is a regular fox, not an arctic fox (and yes I know about arctic foxes change fur color, but they don't look like regular standard foxes when they lose the white fur).

The only positive is that Nick TMNT Alopex cannot be Raph's love interest.

I don't know if they were intentionally trying to do the Phoenix saga or not.

I get the impression that April's one of those aspects of the lore that most people have no idea what to do with, so they just end up throwing all kinds of shit at the wall to see what sticks once her being the token human friend wears out its novelty.

Didn't the original comics have her originate as a drawing that came to life?

yeah, especially when her tranny redisigner Campbell has been pushing that for a while now. Looks like he got shut down thankfully.

Ew. How much involvement does he have in the books?

When did this happen?

Campbell the transsexual artist? To my recollection the latest issue is the only one where he's done writing for the comic. Rest of the time he's just an artist. But an artist that seriously fuels the shipping shit given how he does it to please the other rabid shippers from the customer base.

Disgusting. People that dilute a product to please shippers are just scum.

What went wrong?
I have found memories of this show, I really liked everything until fast forward happened. Since there it went downhill. The battle nexus was bad enough. I think this show did Dark and Gritty alright, because it had it's fair share of humor, and even though it was pretty dark, thanks to the turtles main colors it had well deserved color as well.

Although I agree with you and saw April having some weird ass powers and the Turtles having stupid space weapons, what else can you do with April? April stops being relevant once she befriends the Turtles. I mean, I wouldn't give her powers, but I'd find a way to somehow make her a little more relevant.
Pretty much what this user said She is just there and doesn't do anything besides being Casey cock sleeve. Which reminds me, what they did with Casey is… I don't know

I meant both. I've never been interested in either. I kind of like monster girls, but I don't think fur on itself is hot. In fact, I always though that Krystal had an smooth body, for some reason.
Wasn't it clothes?

Isn't Casey in the IDW run right now leading the purple dragons?

It was on his deviant art notes and fanart for a while. He wanted to ship her with that androgynous female falcon.

Also, he's writing for the series now? That does not bode well. Not at all.

Sad thing is he was pretty cool back before King Obango began pushing mental illness on everyone. I even talked with him and he shared some art tips with me. He's that easily offended brand of insufferable now.

Seriously, if he continuously writes for the series in the universe line or the main one then I'm fucking done.

Check the latest main ongoing issue's Second Page where they list the artist, writers, etc. Among the group of writers, Campbell's name pops up. So he is contributing to the writing area.

Depends, how much is he getting paid?

I actually liked the 2003 cartoon to some degree.

Laws says, each new season everyone's gotta get a raise.

Not too sure

Talking about the IDW Comics run of TMNT. Not any given cartoon with seasons.

Well this art's absolute shit. I think I'm gonna pass up reading Universe. Hell I might just stop reading the series completely if Campbell gets his claws sunk into it more.

oh wow… that's just a step above hendersons art.. and in some ways it's even less appealing.

You can tell there was some slight effort put into it. That's what makes it worse. Because you know someone tried and still came out with a shit product. Granted the art changes constantly in the main series. So you can assume the same is true for the side series. But from there you have the gamble of whether you'll get good or shit art.

Sort of reminds me of Tim Burton's art style for Corpse Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas, etc. So that's another Female Cop Michelangelo befriends. Speaking of which anyone else think this is the best version of Michelangelo? In other animated series at the least he's often the most annoying turtle. In IDW? He's got a lot of sense to him and though a lighthearted dude, when situations are tense he is focused.

To address the rest of your post, IDW TMNT right now is in a slump. Everything happening right now after Shredder got killed feels aimless and sort of half-assed like Harold ditching Donatello to get back with his treasonous cunt wife who betrayed him in the past, the Phantoms amounting to nothing, and the whole conflict versus the literal Gods? That just feels way out of the TMNT element even if they've had magic based arcs before in previous series.

IDW TMNT needs to get back into gear and find a proper structure to deliver satisfying arcs. Wish they would focus more on Bishop and Hob for a fully realized arc.

Yeah I agree this is probably the best Mikey interpretation right now.

The gods thing really is underwhelming with how little they actually focus on it.

I want porn of the turtles coming on her face. She should still be in uniform, of course.
