We'll just have to make BlockBlockAdBlock to counter them!

...

Welcome to the future of the internet, in which each page load involves a "Code War" battle between blockers and anti-blockers for supremacy.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Core_War

Right Wing Code Squads

Can they block a hosts file though?
Checkmate, everything.

How? Parse subscriptions and see if they're in it? What if I have custom rules for their domain? And what is stopping me from adding a new rule if they start serving their ads from a different domain?

Reek's anti adblock is not sufficient?

Anti-adblock killer*

checked

Nope they recently found a way around it

Well the ad blockers will find a way around this. And then the ad blocker blockers will find a way around that and so on.

Good luck circumventing anything when umatrix prevents your malware from ever executing, faggots

Good job, enjoy your reduction in return traffic.

this

shit sites were due to die off anyway
shame some non-shit sites are gonna die due to adblock

but hey, survival of the fittest

Oh no the site lost a leech, whatever will it do?

This. I still haven't tried umatrix, but I use noscript, requestpolicy, and ublock.

Shit, If I have to, I can just pretend to be a webcrawler or some shit.

Most places don't seem to be that stupid. They don't outright block you if you use adblock, they just make you wait for timers and bullshit. Most of the sites that outright block seem to not be worth visiting most of the time anyway.

You're not supposed to profit from hosting information you dumb fuck, most definitely not by charging people to view it. Fucking kikes I swear.

Says who?
Someone has to put work into collecting/generating the information and presenting it, why shouldn't they be rewarded?

Getting rewarded for your efforts is not the same as locking everyone out behind a paywall.

Whep-dee-wew lad. If you use web ads you are the leech, you're leeching off of deeply flawed system that wastes every user's money that could be otherwise put to do something useful business-wise. Web ads are extremely ineffective and extremely expensive, anyone running a web ad company is a fraud and anyone using their services on back end is a fool, and on front end - is a leech.

That's the only way to get rewarded for that effort.

What a case of superiority complex.

...

Couldn't they just do something like:

1) Try to load ad
2) Ask user what was in the ad
3) Do not display website until the correct answer is provided

?

My only beef with shit like that is that the ublock anti-adblock-killer list (or whatever it's called) doesn't update enough for it to catch half the please turn off your adblocker messages that are showing up on every site. Good thing is that, from the logger, usually all you have to do is block inline-scripts from running on whatever site you happen to be on at the moment in order to kille the adblocker popover/notice.

I remember an internet where you'd get shit on for hosting ads on your site, and those who decided to have ads had to plead with their userbase and insist that it was 100% going to site upkeep and not for personal profit, which happened to be a lie almost always. When did this stop being the case?

Don't give them any ideas.

NORP.

If I can't run a website with only the main domain and maybe a first party CDN domain enabled, I'm going to leave immediately and consider that website not worth going to period.

weeewww
good thing ads are run by complete retards

linked it below for lazyfags:

>I remember to never return to the site.

i'll just block the entire ad frame.

time to face it, the ad blocker "adblock" is outdated, intrusive publicity evolves and so do adblockers. you better move on to greener pastures Holla Forums

Holy fucking shit. If you absolutely must advertise on your site, just use gifs and PNGs. That's it. That's all it takes. And guess what? With the image being an organnic part of your site, adblock wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

I would respect and probably even click an ad if the site's author just simply put a non-intrusive single goddamn .png in a non-intrusive place instead of walls of iframes, flash animations and resource-hogging "analytics" to spy on where my cursor sits the longest.

Set stupid overlay to display: none, with privoxy or greasy extension.

Come at me.

How do you post without an HTTP referrer?

Are you refering to the fact that the "fake firefox" option completely disables the referer? I got around that by editing the source code and making it so that referer options are not ignored when faking firefox.

...

How am I a NORP? In any case profit motive is one thing that helped kill the web. It can be seen in everything from websites, to youtube, and even the pocket change newgrounds offered.

Remember: The only product "content creators" are selling is you.

No, I was just answering your question.

In the past I have used archive.fo/ against sites that bawww over ad-blocking. Works (((almost))) every time.

This strategy has already been deployed by clickjacking faggots. They generate some random gibberish as a name for their page-sized, transparent object that sends you to a different site. Can't hide it with filters because the name is new every time. You can hide element but it only works once. Fortunately my addons also stop it from loading the new ad tab. That's not the point, though. It could just as easily be an ad element with the wacky name.

Example under spoiler because it's a porn site. Note element name in bottom right and size by pink coloration. You can hide it but it will load another one until you click through.

Forgot my spoiler.

But to be honest, hard-coding ads is way better for user than third-party ads that track you.

why do japs have such fucked up faces?

radiation

If they did that and it didn't require javascript or iframes, it wouldn't be filtered by my setup.

DATA GATHERING THREADS WITH REAL EVIDENCE

apparently Holla Forums mods have been banning people for posting this here under the guise of "not Holla Forums related" even though its about shills phising for data on users. this is bullshit and wont be tolerated. the center of the Holla Forumsnology community will not fail to be informed of this threat to user security.

I have been noticing a trend on all the boards of Holla Forums, which you should be typing in the address as 8ch.net httpS

I don't think you understand the utility of profiling anonymous people

'Free content' is going to decline rapidly as this battle move forward. In 10 years every piece of content will be some form of a sale's pitch to click through and buy something.

Yay progress.

And the worst part is that squatters and hosting providers will be steadily ramping up prices because majority will be able to pay those prices. Which means those who'll want to make their sites aids-free will be fucked. Of course those prices will stabilize at some point, but it won't matter for people who don't want to scam visitors of their site.

uBlock should implement slowloris, whenever anti-adblock is detected it can't circumvent the site gets raped by anyone who browses it.

I would be fine with it if they did

Just disabling Jewscript render this useless.

It's called a captcha.
The next evolution is this for ads...
Someone has the greentext about the console (Xbone or Piss4 ) forcing you to worship an ad / drink some energy shit to play ?

Attacking a webserver is not a good idea, slowloris by a single user is loggable/ detectable and if you are against something greedy you are going to court and pay damages.

So what about aggressively downloading the ad a gazillion times?

They really want you to see the ad, and you're only trying to make them happy.

>theme: friendship
o-oh my

Works 9/10 times
