That's my current life right now and it's fucking awful. Not rich by any mean but get by as in I don't go hungry and the bills get paid. All other additional activities include alcohol consumption, alone, whenever, wherever. It's difficult to quit when you live on a bottle a night and 2 packs of smokes. Really makes you trash and I don't see how I could ever be proud about my lifestyle. Trailer-park boys is fucking funny but it's not real life.

For me this was an Arduino and a couple of electronics and programming projects but your mileage may vary.
