As far as chan history goes Holla Forums ain't new. I remember when moot cracked down on all of the "grey area" bullshit and anons split for 7chan, 711chan, 420chan, and 12chan.
4chan was always cucked.

I used to frequent 4chan, and still go on reddit. 4chan became just a loop of the same topics, and the same jokes over and over again. But with Holla Forums, there is a more open potential for freedom of expression. No votes, just equality. And that's refreshing. I think that, due to the complexity of some of the arguments on various topics, that the user base is older, and maybe that's what's great. With 4chan, saying anything outside the norm outlands you as a pariah. With reddit, honest has to tempered with being PC and self censorship. Holla Forums has none of that, or at least very little of it.

And the whole million and one boards list for so many interests is great, too.

Yeah, I mean to an extent there's still hivemind especially on legacy boards (when you compare it to pol, v and a; b is really a lot less circle-jerk and cancerous). But overall it's a better place to have an argument than most of the internet.

/a/ is the least cucked board there is, at least. What they have goes far beyond circlejerk, it is simply how things used to be on all boards, when 4chan was still good. The fact that the other boards stopped being like that is what let the newfags in and ruined everything. It started with Holla Forums and it never stopped. It slowed down when we moved here, but it's been accelerating ever since. Holla Forums used to actively discourage newfags almost as hard as them. Newfags don't understand that the occasional an hero getting himself v& by posting a sprinkling of pizza was doing us a service by scaring the newfags away. By antagonizing the pedos all they've done is reinforced their views, while also preventing them from actually posting their content, which gets them v& and thus thins the herd, but also does the incredibly necessary service of scaring the newfags away.

Getting rid of noko was also a simple and seemingly good idea, but actually a terrible move in the long run. That used to add at least a little necessity to lurking moar, and now we have nothing.

The thing that really killed it for me was when it became political. We used to be able to call each other niggerfaggots because we were happy to exercise our freedom of speech and have a laugh. Now we can't do that without tumblrfags bitching about how horrible we are for it (on 4chan) or Holla Forumsfags bitching about how horrible niggers and faggots are (here).

When Holla Forums took off with Gamergate, I didn't even go on Holla Forums. But it was the principal of the thing, and the fact that 4chan had been shit for years and I was just waiting for an alternative to get a good enough userbase to be sustainable. And for the first little while, it was great. Speed was slower, but still around like '09 levels, and frankly, that was after the cancer had started, it was slower in the real glory days. Then moot fucked with Holla Forums, and that was maybe the smartest thing he ever did. The traitorous cucks that stayed at Holla Forums after gamergate were among the exact people who helped to ruin 4chan in the first place (pic related). They had no backbone and didn't actually care about their ideals, as SJWs censored their website. They didn't even care about the quality of their site, since the censorship directly made it worse, but of course they didn't, they were newfags who didn't even know what it used to be. And then they came here, and our halcyon days were over. We were back to post-2011 shit. Granted, it's still better than 4chan, which has degraded even further since then, but if ever we can find another place to congregate, if there is ever another smoking gun that causes an exodus of people who remember the pre-political days of imageboards, then I'll go for it.
