I didn't read the whole thing, but just from that bit I guess that Stalin didn't conceive of material and spiritual as two entirely separate issues developing by themselves. Rather, the spiritual side is formed by the material and the reason why you can't just then throw spiritual into the trash and only use the material side for analysis is that the spiritual side changes with a delay. That is, two nations that have similar tech can still have different national character if the tech used to be very different between these two. Habits and beliefs change, but that's not like snapping your finger.

If private banks create money out of nothing when they issue out loans and if money is then deleted when people pay back their loans and when the banks sells assets, then how do banks profit from this arrangement? So why do they do that?

Conversely, the use-value created in so many hours of work is not determined by (but is related to) your labour-power. So surplus-value is a separate calculation than the value of labor-power, like your first hypothesis.
