Questions that don't deserve their own thread.

Just started reading The Communist Manifesto with an introduction by Gareth Jones. He's mentioned a pamphlet I'd like to read that was written by Marx in 1838 called "Mankind as it is and as it ought to be".

I can't seem to find any copies of it online, only references to it and I was wondering if anyone here had a pdf they could upload.

Does anyone have a preferred version of the Communist Manifesto?

why was he right about the bureaucracy famrades?

more seriously, would it be possible for a country with sufficiently advanced productive forces to go straight to communism without a transitional stage? if so, are there any countries in which this could be done today?

i'm a marxlet so if he covered this i apologise

it's in german, drop the link into google translate i guess

Thanks!

What you're looking for is called communization.

No problem.

Ah, I see. I'd heard of it before, but never understood it to mean anything more than the process of communism coming about. Thanks.

I just read the whole thing. Here is Wilhelm Weitling's philosophy without respecting the order of the original text as that seemed pretty arbitrary to me.

jim jones was correct

in "Marxism and the National Question", Stalin refers to the "common psychological makeup of a nation". is this handwavy nonsense bullshit?

Yes

Not if you view it with regards to the material conditions of that nation.

this seems like a "pick one" situation

Material conditions determine psychology

how do you quantify a common psychology of a nation without reducing it to the economic base entirely

Let me rephrase. Material conditions set the general framework for what happens in the realm of psychology. "Determine" sounds too much like the vulgar distortion of historical materialism some people believe in even today.

Culture, a common language, shared history are all things that shape the people of a nation beyond what can be explained by materialist reductionism.

these things are listed separately by stalin

marx2mao.com/Stalin/MNQ12.html
I didn't read the whole thing, but just from that bit I guess that Stalin didn't conceive of material and spiritual as two entirely separate issues developing by themselves. Rather, the spiritual side is formed by the material and the reason why you can't just then throw spiritual into the trash and only use the material side for analysis is that the spiritual side changes with a delay. That is, two nations that have similar tech can still have different national character if the tech used to be very different between these two. Habits and beliefs change, but that's not like snapping your finger.

???

Muke here, one of you guys sent me an overview for the introduction. That looks interesting, but I heard some of you have a summary of the overview, so could you give me a tl;dr of that summary?

hmm ok then

meaning psychological

It's giving context to the pamphlet; a history of communism and Marx up to that point and an overview of its effects following publication. I treat introductions as a to read list for a better understanding of the work.

Gareth Stedman Jones is just another academic anti-communist philistine out of many thousands. Why put so much emphasis over an unexceptional introduction to some recent reprint of the Manifesto? It's like you're completely new to this.

What are some of his anti communist opinions? I'm completely new to this.

read louis proyect even though he's an opportunist too:

Thanks.
So what I'm getting from this is that Jones angles himself as an authority on Marx's work, but has opinions which undermine Marx's authority through incompetence and/or malevolence.

Also that he ignores historical points where it suits his arguments.

Strange, I actually heard something like that argument many times before, for example viewpointmag.com/2013/10/21/between-marx-marxism-and-marxisms-ways-of-reading-marxs-theory/

Someone who actually knows what postmodernism actually is, how right is this video?

Can you suggest a better one?

For that matter, does anyone know of a good document debunking "muh cultural Marxism" bullshit? It gets really tiresome having to repeat the same thing.

Regarding 'Cultural Marxism', have a PDF. As a bonus, have something from a literal Jewess: youtube.com/watch?v=X_y0LxcANic

What is the consensus on Harvey companion to capital?

I don't hear it discussed often or in detail

Oh thank fucking God, now I can reply to aut-rightists with a single file link instead of typing an ecyclopedia. God bless you.

faggot

it's called /sqt/ - Stupid Questions Thread
go on /g/ once in a while OP

It's shit. Just read like barely a few pages from PDF related and you'll see why.

are there any other pieces of secondary literature to capital that you would recommend to a first time reader?

fwiw capital is not a difficult book to understand, just long and full of digressions about 1850s textile manufacture

My enemas are pretty simple. I am a FFer so I want and need a deep, total cleanout. I want my ass clean for 12 hours if need be.
use a fleet enema bottle. Just my preference. I use the larger size, there is a very small fleet enema that can be used but it requires several more bottles shot up my ass. The larger size 5oz is quicker. I shoot 4 of those up my ass. I then get down on all 4's. I then drop down on my shoulders while keeping my ass high in the air and let that water run deep in my colon. Trust me, this will take practice as you will have the major urge to release it.
For the sake of keeping your bathroom floor clean, STAY NEAR YOUR TOILET! You will have a major urge to release but it will subside if you can hold it. I then stand up and shoot 4 more(another 20oz) of water up me and yes it gets really hard to hold it in but I once again get down on my shoulders, ass up and let that water run deep in my colon.
By that point I am SO FUCKING ready to release. It feels so good to plop down on the toilet and let that eruption go from my ass. I feel like it cleanses my soul!
I gently push all the water out. BUT IN NO WAY AM I FULLY CLEANED OUT YET. The worst has yet to come out and needs to be lured out. That nasty shitty water that if not cleaned out will likely come out while later getting fucked.
Inserting a dildo makes quick work of luring out all of that shitty nastiness. As deep as you can take the dildo will lure out the water faster. Any good bottom at that point should be inserting a dildo, just for hole prep for fucking. It is a good way to open up your hole anyway, to get it ready for a good hard cock pounding.
But it also serves the purpose of luring out that final shitty water. IMO I can't get that dirty water out unless I insert a dildo for a few minutes. While I insert the dildo, I hold it in and brush my teeth, shave etc and get ready for the shower. I leave the dildo in for at least 10 minutes while brushing teeth etc. I pull it out and out comes the remaining dirty water. One more quick fleet bottle to rinse and into the shower I go.
It takes me 10 minutes to enema and push it out. Another 10 minutes or so of dildoing to get the water out while prepping, shaving etc.
I can be fully enemad, showered and out the door in under an hour and be 100% confident of my hole being clean for up to 12 hours after the enema.

If private banks create money out of nothing when they issue out loans and if money is then deleted when people pay back their loans and when the banks sells assets, then how do banks profit from this arrangement? The only way that I can see them profiting out of this is when they create money out of nothing to "loan" money to the government by purchasing government bonds, but as soon as the banks sell these bonds to someone else (which they do all the time for some reason) the money that they made from that transaction is deleted. So why do they do that?

What risks? The money that they loan out is created out of nothing

If I take out a mortgage to buy a house I'm left with a liability in the form of a loan. But what is the bank left with? A bond?

Give me an example of a counter-cyclical asset that I can buy now and make money off of in the next recession

Does anyone acutally watch Unruhe unironically? I watched his video "Refuting Hoxha's Lies About Mao Zedong Thought" and yeah he's autistic and a LARPer but he's not really stupid. FinBol seems to like him so maybe I should give him a chance.

Link me some good Unruhe videos.

With this third-worldism stuff though, I think he just confused new viewers.

Listening to the Roo vs. /r/socialism debate. The Roo is dominating this shit.

What's the reserve requirement for when banks make loans? How much has to come from their reserves and how much is created out of nothing?

How can I get a good understanding of socialism and history in Cuba? As well as what life is actually like and how it all functions? Are there any decent contemporary books that aren't super biased and anti commie and preferably not super super dense and long? Please recommend!

What exactly is the base and superstructure, and what books descrive it in detail?

The base is the material basis of the dominant order while the superstructure is the ideology that justifies it. You will often see retards post that diagram which clearly shows that both influence each other while claiming that only the base is important. Ignore those people.

Does anyone know of a better translation of Lenin's brief biographical sketch of karl marx than what's on marxists.org?

Aside from it just the writing being poor there's a bunch typos and grammatical errors.

Why do people hate Socdems and Reformists on here?
I understand the basic point against us not going far enough, but as a Burger, it doesn't seem like I have much of a choice. Revolution is never coming here.

I'd like to know what Holla Forums things about the Rothschilds.
I'd expect something along the lines of; Porkies that will die in the gulag, but amuse me.

They're rich Jewish people.

Can someone help?

Is labour the only thing that does not exchange at equal value i.e. with wages, and then the unpaid wages for the additional commodities create the surplus value? (A man creates 10 hours worth of commodities but is only paid for 6 hours)

Or is labour power paid for at it's full value and something else happens?

Because it's a matter of class consciousness. If enough people do believe revolution is possible, then revolution is possible. Spreading consciousness is a fundamental part of a leftist activist.

There's nothing special about them, really. Porkies who acquired absurd wealth thanks to extremely close cooperation with a capitalist State, among plenty of other connections.

Bearing in mind I'm a filthy casual who hasn't gotten to Marx yet… As I understand it, the value of your labour-power isn't the same as (but is influenced by) the amount of value you can create in a given job, so your second hypothesis is flawed. Conversely, the use-value created in so many hours of work is not determined by (but is related to) your labour-power. So surplus-value is a separate calculation than the value of labor-power, like your first hypothesis.

Again, I might be completely wrong here, so take this with a pinch of salt.

How do investment fund managers really make their money?

bump because I'm also curious about

I'm guessing tey receive a commission on the profits of their "investment" decisions.

What's the difference in Communist terms between 'The State' and 'The Worker's Collective'?

Cuz I've always heard the State described as 'A collection of the masses that are occasionally polled to determine where the society is headed'. But then I hear An-Coms talk about how they're going to get rid of the State and replace it with 'A collection of the workers that are occasionally polled to determine where the society is headed'.

This is the best summary of the Marxist definition of the State that I know of, but then again, it's not like I read many of them after this one.

Does anybody have the 5'x3' rendering of the Holla Forums flag kicking around?
