Could restrictive membership be a successful recipe for Socialists in the west?
I think that despite being small, the real problem we go through is that our members are usually inactive, or, frankly, useless. If we made membership conditional, we could get people to sit through a few lectures before they're in. Once they're in, we could teach them some skill they can use for propaganda, agitation, etc. Make the best use out of everybody.
Would make sabatoge (from inside or out) and infiltration from the outside much easier. Not an awful idea though.
Josiah Cook
No. It's not "a selective group of active and educated people unite" it's "workers of the world unite". This is a movement for everyone, otherwise you're just some limosine liberal club.
Mason Rogers
This is just empty pseudo-radical populism. It's not like the International and other organizations Marx was part of didn't have standards of membership and didn't expel people regularly.
Gavin Wilson
idk man, that's how you make cults, cults don't have good praxis
If there any way to have the dedication and organization of cults without the cult part?
Daniel Gonzalez
Perhaps not everything Marx did was right.
I don't think small groups have any value outside revolutionary activity, in a Blanquist sense. Otherwise they simply encourage a sense of elitism. They have to be tempered.
Lincoln Kelly
Just organize a militia.
Sebastian Cook
Then don't use his words to tell people what to do dipshit
David Murphy
most socialist/communist parties already have activity requirements for maintaining membership as far as I can tell. big mainstream electoral parties usually will let you be a "member" with a subscription fee, but I've never seen a serious left-wing party conduct itself this way. They will nearly always have responsibilities you are expected to fulfill.
Benjamin Stewart
No women and trannies. I guarantee you all the bullshit in the left would melt over night if this was enforced.
Andrew Hill
lol probably
Christian Taylor
Lets just ban people with a liberal profile, College students, people with high class networking, you get the idea.
Grayson Robinson
Totally empty platitude.
Easton White
no
Hunter Hernandez
You tell that to my boys in the olive drab and we'll see what happens ey
Robert Davis
do you even vanguard
Angel Martin
the cultural revolution was a fucking mistake though
Jacob Powell
The cultural revolution was the high point of Maoism tbh
Sebastian Lopez
How about only allowing wage laborers? Salaried workers should only be permitted on a case by case basis and should not be allowed to hold any offices within the org.
Easton Morgan
Only because it helped to delay the liberal resurgence. Should have killed more of them.
