Anarchists are half the board and redditors ars far more likely to be MLs or Trots than anarchists. MLs are a minority and that's why your polls always show 80%+ not agreeing with the new rule.
let Holla Forums vote for a current mod to take over. a mod who wants to be BO would list their experience, nomination from other mods, and lay out what their policy would be and their objectives for the first month.

We have no reason to trust any of the mods. They dont have a public track record, unlike BO. We dont know if they have been on for a day or three years.
And then theres the issue that a some of the mods in the past have been dickheads (prickly) or that they agree with BO (since she appoints them).

The problem is not about supporting imperialism in itself among these lines. The real problem lies in defining said imperialism, more specifically which countries are imperialist or imperialist puppets and which are not.
Roughly speaking there are two interpretation, one considers USA and its allies imperialist, while the countries directly opposed to it(Russia, Syria etc.) are strictly not imperialist, because "Imperialism, the highest stage…" and so on. This seems to be an interpretation BO subscribes to.
The other interpretation does not rule out the possibility of countries opposed to the US being imperialist as well, which would for example imply Russia is imperialist great power, a weaker one than the US, but imperialist nevertheless.
In case of Syria those two worldviews clash, since the first option is pretty direct in saying that Assad is the lesser evil since he opposes the "vassalization" of Syria by the burgers while Kurds are lowkey US shills. The second view implies Assad is in the sphere of one great power and Kurds in another, so either a) supporting anyone in the conflict is wrong or b) we could see either Assad or Kurds as lesser evils for various reasons, including their "partners", but not making that a deal breaker.
One cannot reconcile those two options and if you start banning for imperialism, you have to side with either of those, discriminating the people who hold the other view by pushing your opinions on them(something a BO of an all-leftist board shouldn't do imho). The only option in that case would be not fucking touching anything as it was before.
Voted no/no, but on the condition that BO reverses the policy and actually realizes he fucked up. Yes, there have been some hiccups in the past, but I think that BO has an overall decent track record. He's been with us since the beginning and not only would it be a shame to see him go, but who knows what a new BO would be like? It could be literally anyone. What if they end up being worse? I think our safest bet would be to stick with BO, but first of all he needs to reflect on this whole mess. If he can't do at least that, then I'm afraid he's given us no other option.
