Venezuela is fucking shit, stop defending them

At this point they're better off getting couped. Chavez was a fucking hack and Maduro is aswell.

They're just a dysfunctional petro-populist social democracy, and not even the good kind. Norway used their oil dosh to create a proper social democracy, good public transport, healthcare and education, these are investments that last a long time and Norway could still provide a huge living standard without it. Like 80% of Venezuela's export money comes from oil, and they just use it to import commodities from producing countries instead of expanding their own production capabilities.

Not only are they not socialists, they even fucking suck at capitalism.

Oh, and memezuela is constantly used by Holla Forums to discredit us, should've mentioned that aswell.

I honestly wonder if there are really leftists who claimed that Venezuela was socialist

I don't get how anyone can support them, not even the "M-MUH ANTI-IMPERIALISM" fags. If you're a tankie, they never implemented ML politics or central planning, if you're a market socialist, they never implemented any level of workers self management, and if you're a social democrat, they failed to even achieve a basic functional social democracy.

For the first time in its history, Venezuela has its own satellites (Bolivar and Miranda) and is now sovereign in the field of space technology. The entire country has internet and telecommunications coverage."

Anarchism, not even once.

Not even tankies are this dumb, fam. Weak.

You might call me a dumb anarkiddy but I atleast use the proper marxist definition of socialism. Or do you believe socialism is when the government does things?

At this rate, I expect a counter-counter meme soon.

Where did I call Venezuela a Socialist State?

It's obviously not, but supporting a bourgeois coup against a Bolivarian government is still so laughable that you'd have to be either cointelpro or a moron.

The 'Opposition' is gunning down left-wing activists in the streets (telesurtv.net/english/news/Socialist-Venezuela-Student-Leader-Killed-After-Backing-Maduro-20170506-0022.html), but so long as they don't actually hold state power, anarchists are seemingly fine with it. That's why I can never trust anarchists.

Are you so naive as to believe that Venezuela can actually support itself out of global capitalism? They're still capitalist, they should really stop pretending to be socialist.

It's nice to have an Anarchist supporting permanent revolution theory, but what exactly does that mean for Venezuela? Because they can't disengage from capitalist economic structures they should just give up and leave the country to the oil-barons and neo-liberal parties?

No. Because they can't disengage from capitalist economic structures they should just call themselves social democrats and use their oil money for long-term investments instead of just importing commodities they don't produce.

they would have been alright without usa & porky actively fighting them.

Can we get a fucking Venezuela general so we stop getting the same threads 5 times a day?

Socialism is a kinder version of capitalism that works towards the equitable redistribution of wealth. Venezuela had that in land reforms

Yeah, that's great, but Chavez built the entire thing upon a single extraction industry. That flag of yours should mean that you understand how profoundly stupid it is to not develop heavy industry and thus leave the entire society at the whims of the market for a particular commodity.

kys

Well that sure is a good reason to hope for a coup. I'm convinced.

Oil is 95% of Venezuela's exports, 80% is not really accurate.

0/10

Still need to develop your economy like Stalin did. Otherwise all you are doing is buying time.
