Non-Authoritarian socialism was pretty much impossible 100 years ago, at least on a large scale. Tankies had their right to exist back then.

Nowadays things are different. We are not in times where workers are unable to read anymore. Technology and increasing education make non-authoritarian socialism both possible and the best option by far.
(Not to mention that non-authoritarian socialism is the only kind of socialism that will have at leaat some glimpse of possibility in the First World.)
