A lot of people use reddit. It has potential to be used to spread propaganda so i think we shouldn't just ignore it.

After World War 1, workers rose up in revolt in Germany to overthrow the capitalist system that had just murdered an entire generation. The SocDem government, which had always claimed to wish to pursue socialism through democratic means, reacted to this popular leftist uprising by sending in reactionary army corps - the so-called Freikorps - to violently suppress the worker's revolution, murdering a lot of innocent people as well as communist leaders Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht. Just a few years later they named a charity after the man who had ordered this murderous betrayal, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, which still exists today. Open betrayal with zero regrets. Further betrayals by Social Democrats have also occurred since then, such as the French president Mitterand promising to establish socialism if he were elected, only to then use his absolute majority of SocDems to keep capitalism safe and sound and change basically nothing. It is quite clear that Social Democracy is merely the left wing of capitalism and only serves to keep the sinking shift aloft with bandaids to cover up the worst of its consequences and violent intervention when needed, which is why they generally aren't very well-liked here.
