Spelunky is a pretty good roguelite, the only good one I've played. No unlock faggotry, you can beat it completely from the get-go. I look forward to the second one.

It might not always generate on it's path(but there is a shop also!) and spider cave might not be pregenerated entirely, but most of the time it did on my side and spider cave is a fucking cancer regardless.

The golden idol spawning doesn't guarantee a shop spawning nor does it guarantee it will spawn under it.

Spider caves a bitch but it's the only "real" difficult level.

I've never said that, also, the main issue isn't the shop but the underground shopkeeper stash.
Except idol is likely to spawn on higher to middle parts of stage, where shops tend to be placed in the middle and shopkeeper stashes at the bottom. Thus if they did spawn, they are likely to be crashed by the rock and trigger the "fuck you" sequence.
It's not difficult, it's a chore and a bomb waster. All you need to do is position yourself properly and throw the bomb or get a generation glitch and just whip the motherspider through the opening, which is tedious at it's best and cancer at it's worst.

There is literary no reason why those things should've been included in the game and I doubt there isn't even more unfun features added in the later stages.

No, it's not entirely random, like you can't ever be randomly placed near the exit.
It's not difficult to restart the 1st chapter because of the bad generation, it's tedious, spider cave filled to the brim with spider bosses when you know how to deal with them isn't hard, it's tedious. There shouldn't be cases where rng can range from ez pz walk in the park to "fuck your playthrough" kind of deal. If you enjoy dealing with the latter good for you, but original spelunky was challenging and fair.

Yes, you could argue that one can avoid that by meticulously exploring the cave up to the ground floor for the dangerous generation and ways to come back, but then we again come to the argument of this being tedious and unnecessary.

It has nothing to do with rogue. It's a platformer! Calling it mariolike or mariolite would make more sense but even then it would be a horrible name for a genre.

You have 2:30 to fully explore the level before the ghost comes, plenty of time to do so if you're not a scrub

Or you could just not pick up the idol. The entire point of the idol is that it's a huge risk for a big reward. If you don't want to risk the chance of it angering shop keepers, don't pick it up.

The entire point of the game is being Indiana Jones, exploring trapped ruins of an ancient civilization while trying to grab fiercely guarded treasures, emphasis on the "fiercely guarded". If grabbing the big treasures wasn't dangerous, the game would be doing it wrong.

No, I wouldn't mind it being hard or harder by itself. For example, can you seriously tell me that the consequences of the trap compare to the idol traps from the other chapters?
If even success for idol retrieval = wrath of shopkeepers, then what's even the point of going for the idol if you could steal directly from shops, the idol cost would mean practically nothing to you.

It might set off the shopkeepers, and its a lower chance than you make it out to be. The point of a roguelite is that every run is different. Sometimes it's harder. Sometimes it's easier. You're not expected to have equal chances of beating it every time you play. And, if you want to be a hundred percent sure you don't anger the black market, you don't have to pick up any idols in the first area. They are not essential in any way to beating a run. They are purely a bonus if you want to take the risk for one. Again, any shopkeepers you anger are purely your fault. If you're an autist that needs to go for every idol, that just sucks to be you.
