It's a poorly written visual novel. Granted, it's meant to be a feel-good wish fulfillment game, but even as that it's pretty bad. For one thing, the artstyle of the 'create-a-dad' doesn't match the art style of the character portraits at all.
Secondly, the actual meat of the story consists of boring cookie-cutter stories using (((The Gay Community's))) favorite stereotypes in completely perfect but 'tragic' situations that the player can fix with their quirky 90's kid bullshit. The only break from form here is that the one guy who's actually still married has a wife that's presented as a bitch in his route, but actually shows a perfectly nice and helpful side in other routes. They could've gone full whiny wife with her, and they didn't. I'm surprised.
Thirdly, there is literally no payoff. Complete a route? You get a few more lovey-dovey sentences and then… Postcard. Credits. This was never going to have anything worth the effort because it's a western, sexually repressed game. The worst part is that it's a sexually repressed Visual Novel about a goddamn dad fetish, so it can't even get its target audience aroused because there's no titillation. Just watching someone 'play' this garbage made me angry.
