You just have an account name/avatar in Epicmafia. Decks are optional preset lists of names that are randomly drawn from to conceal identities during a round; like a cast of cartoon characters or famous rappers.

Online gaming went to shit with the raise of social media just like everything else on the internet. It's not like the old days in MMOs where there was a great sense of community and you asked someone for their AIM or MSN and became best buds. Stay quiet, keep it simple, rely on your allies. Making simple statements and understanding roles/evidence in play can work just fine if you aren't some social butterfly. Don't do anything stupid or obvious, and just try to pay attention and work with other mafia.

It was a ten players setup, I just mentioned the more useful ones that were on village side. No reason for there to be a surgeon instead of medic, since Surgeon kills whoever tries to kill his victim, and really everything else was against mafia. Sniper can''t even kill at night, so if Tailor dies to surgeon, GG.
If we're doing games of 10 have either 3 maf or 2 maf and a fool and just give village fops for investigation, detective is way too strong for small games.
Alright this is generally how to make a balanced EM setup. Keep in mind I have not played in a long time and I'm used to balancing for 20 but this is more or less what you want to keep in mind
1) you generally want a 3 to 1 ratio of villagers to non-villagers (non villagers includes neutrals)
2) roles with the ability to kill or prevent kills should be considered as a larger threat when balancing, epically if it's a mafia role with the ability to kill on top of maf kills
3) unless the mafia specifically has roles that fuck with other people's roles like yakuza, tailor, disguiser, or janitor, OR the game has cultists or aliens you should probably just use some combinatoon of cops, insane cops, watchers, or trackers.
It's a shitty facebook Mafia; we'd be better off with EpicMafia pubs than children and sorandumb griefing every round. At least then we'd have control over the setups with a lot more options.
If you want to do maf you should start with 6man or open it to pubs. Last time we moved to vidya/private rooms we already had 6~8 people actively playing.

It really depends on how long you have and what you're aiming for, there's all kinds of wacky and fun set ups like long-ass team races, monoclass deathmatches, etc
