While I love interconnected worlds, the way it was handled in tooie is Awful. The way the game is handled is they is a lot of interruptions, be it mini games that don't use the game play mechanics, mumbo, knowing WHEN you have to backtrack, so and so. This coupled with areas that dont really have any land marks such as in Banjo Kazooie and Weak Area themes that never live up to their full potential make the game less refined product then Banjo Kazooie. The Only thing it does better then Banjo is slightly better controls (which is ruined by a bunch of useless powerups) and better boss battles

It doesnt help the game also has less heart in it; even small things such as a game over cutscene of the players icons change expressions the less health you have is also gone.

The only things good about that game were thing lifted from previous SF games, and even then they fucked up some of the vehicle transformations (with the huge fucking dead-zone for the chicken walker's turning, everything about the gyrowing).

There's nothing satisfying about controls that need to be re-calibrated every time you move too much to the side. There's also nothing satisfying about controls that horribly break the game because it wasn't completely designed with them in mind.

I actually have a thing I been meaning to ask. The game seemed to been more hyped up then it actually was based on the amount of sales it had, and I have a theory that not many people actually backed the project; its just few people who backed it a ton.

I don't know what you're talking about there, those levels were full of shit you could use as landmarks, the different colored gem piles in the mine overworld, Thirstys gulch in DInoland, where you are in regards to the bigtop in Witchyworld, best level by the way, the various edibles in CCL\which mumbos shack you are closer to, the list goes on and on. I feel that the game had levels had tons of ways to orient yourself.
As for the minigames the only one that seemed really obtrusive was the first FPS section but that was necessary for a number of the other areas and minigames (I can think of atleast two, one in Grunty Industries and another in Dinolandas well as the final boss), other times there are definite warnings and options to back out of an incoming minigame so I feel that is a bit of a lesser point, also it'd be good to note that they're like that because they wanted to have a Conker-esque multiplayer minigame session for people to play so it makes sense for a lot of them to be so divergent.
