Shogun 2 was pretty good. I was playing as Shimazu and was making great inroads into conquering up to Kyoto. But then I can across damn Takeda. I had sent my first son and best general/mentor with him and had plenty of spear monks and archers but Takeda's Calvary trod over them. It was my first real loss as well, the first son who was to succeed the clan who had a younger son and the general from a branch family who had loyal to Papa Shimazu for years.
3 turns later, Papa Shimazu faced Takeda with 40% gunpoweder units. Blew away all his Calvary. I still think about my mistake sometimes.

Been playing a development build of a Doom mod called MetaDoom.
Its creator is working on an update that adds Quad Damage, the spiders from Doom 3 and the Mancubus and Arachnotron from Doom 64.

It's kind of hard to describe, imagine Deus Ex, but instead of augmentation, you get vampire shit and have to drink blood without fucking things up. I'm not doing the game any justice, but the amount of depth in it is keeps it interesting, as it should. It's about as old as HL2 as far as I remember, and as a result is pretty cheap most of the time unless you pirate it.
From what little I can tell, you need to do things for some secret vampire organization while not revealing yourself as a vampire, or else you get hunted by other people in the organization. Three fuck ups and you might as well get a game over.

You do not need to play any of the other games to enjoy Automata. It would help to understand some of the references in the story, however, if you can't play any of the other ones due to not having the hardware or you can't emulate for some reason, you will be perfectly fine.

What clan are you playing as? Tremere is easymodo if you use blood magic, and even beyond that stealth and the late game guns are really broken. If you don't want to be broken, any clan that has the ability that slows time is also very good for combat, but doesn't destroy the challenge the way blood magic does. The first spell gives back more blood than it spends; drinking blood heals you. This makes you nigh invincible if you don't be a dumbass.

I have absolutely no Idea what clan I chose, I just sort of chose one. I think it has the distraction ability and a bestial form? I can't be certain. also
I guess it's not going to be too much of a chore, since I'm not far in, to just reset and find a clan that has that ability. Would you recommend doing that? Sounds beyond fun.

That is gangrel, I think; you can look at your character sheet and it should have the clan name. Its been awhile but I think gangrel should have that ability. Brujah and the clan of Anne Rice inspired faggot vampires I can't remember their name also have it.

Sonic Generations at the moment for the comfy unwinding. Nier:Automata is the main game so far when I need something to dig into - I really regret not playing a Yoko Taro game earlier, but now I can look forward to a binge playthrough on that this Friday night muthafucka. I got to Play the Quake champions Closed beta. It was pretty good, But I'm no expert on Quake. The game is going to be Free to play anyway, so I say give it a shot when it comes out.

Right now I'm playing through all the Ratchet and Clank Games on PS2 again and there just as good as I remember. I'm in the middle of Going Commando Right now. I'm wondering if the PS3 games are worth playing from what I heard the story got pretty stupid at some point, like apparently Ratchet and Clank are both separately "The Chosen one" and Ratchet is the last Lombax in the Universe even though there are like 3 other Lombax in the PS2 games.

A couple of weeks ago I played through Luigi's Mansion, Super Metroid, Sonic and the Secret Rings, and Sonic Colors in about six days. I liked the first two games more than the last two.

Words of advice: When fighting Yuuka, avoid the edges of the screen.
She, along with Elly and Shinki, are the three Touhou bosses that can randomly roll an unwinnable danmaku pattern on Hard or higher.
Elly's scythe can home, so the trap is obvious, but Yuuka will randomly fire off small lasers if you are on the edges and trap you there.
Nothing is more annoying than to be playing a near-perfect game and then get trapped by sudden unwinnable.
Bad design, sure, which is why the randomness was done away with in the Windows-era.

The Quake beta wasn't bad, I only played as Ranger. you need to use ingame currency to buy other characters, the only choice I saw was buy them for 1 day, if you use Platinum aka real money you get them forever, but the 1 day option was pretty cheap you get enough in 3 or 4 matches. you get loot boxes when you level up, they only give you cosmetic things. There are 3 tiers of loot box which you seem to get at random when you level up, the lowest tier you can buy with in game money the other too you need Platinum to buy. If you get the same cosmetic or don't want one you have you can brake it down into a 3rd currency that is only for making cosmetics.

The character powers didn't seem like a big deal I constantly forgot I even had one, Ranger shoots a teleporter ball that you can trigger at any point in motion, if it makes contact with someone it can do as much damage as a direct rocket hit. The character powers recharge over time and you can pick up little hourglass power ups to make them recharge faster.

Overall I'd say give it a shot since it going to be free, Old Quake fans will probably have problems though since it's going for the whole loot box scam like Overwatch does.

Yuuka's not that bad, just watch out for her double spark/laser attack on the edges of the screen. Be careful of her tells too, she has one similar to her stage 5 boss, but while she uses a giant laser in the center of the screen for that one, and a spread attack for the final boss version. (Coming from experience on the run I actually 1cc'd, nearly lost a life when she did that considering one of my first few runs of the game I game over'd stupidly to her master spark)

From memory, on Lunatic mode Final Boss Yuuka has a roughly ~8% chance (not a hard number) of firing off a pair of thin lasers down the edges of the screen if you are within about 30px of the edges for longer than like 8 to 10 seconds. And, this has basically no tell, aside from her slowing down her other patterns just a little bit.
Amusement Makers must have had a massive troll as one of their team.

Anyway, that was the one Touhou game I autisically 1cc'd Lunatic mode on more than once - for certain obvious reasons.
