I'm sure the original plan was to have a game for each of the horsemen, but TBH I think hedging bets and turning the third game in to a co-op action adventure where you can hot-swap between characters in single player mode would work really fucking well. And, at least one of them is a gunslinger specialising in ranged weapons with revolvers, and there are horses for the horsemen, so we'd basically get a Sunset Riders in 3D with a Heavy Metal Comic Book aesthetic and that makes my pants tight.

If by some miracle a Darksiders game where you can play as Strife is made gundashing should be made into an actual intended mechanic. It's a really fun way to move around.

DS2's reliance on loot is just part of the game. They'd have to actually remake the game to change (not really fix) how it works. Gunfire did make it so that health steal and wrath steal are much rarer in Deathinitive, you won't see them at all until the very end of your first playthrough and you might not actually get what you want. You do still get a unique axe that levels with you and has health steal but does low damage early on though. And in terms of RNG all you ever really need to do is reset for the type of possessed weapon you want with high damage and then just rely on vendor gear. White drops were made a lot less common (so less going back to town to sell shit) and other drops were made a little more common, though the former has the effect of making possessed weapon drops less common when you use the trinket that turns whites possessed weapons occasionally.

They brought Gothic series to Steam, that's nice.

They can't really change that without remaking the game from scratch, they might as well just use that time and effort into making a third brand new game.

it's basically a 3d Zelda game but with better combat.

Just know that there is an item you get pretty early on called the Crossblade and you can use it to cancel animations. it makes combat allot more fun.

Although for some reason they replaced Famine and Pestilence with Fury and Strife, I don't know why.

If they fixed some minor things in Quest 64 and called it Quest 128 or some shit, I'd buy it.

FYI "Pestilence" isn't a real horseman (biblically speaking). It's Conquest, riding a white horse armed with a bow. Conquest represents aggressive war, taking foreign territories, whereas the more well known War, rider of the red horse and armed with a sword likely represents war within a country, civil war and power struggles.

The other two though are pretty straightforward as Death and Famine. Notably Death is the only one explicitly named.

If you think about it though, Fury=Conquest and Strife=Famine is pretty accurate. Again, none of the horsemen were named except for Death. Given what those two represent however those names are just fine.

Except of course they got it backwards and Strife rides the white horse with the ranged weapon (gun instead of bow but close enough), and Fury rides the black horse (Famine has no weapon and instead carries a set of scales, so they were free to give that horseman whatever they wanted)

So Strife would be some kind of Max Payne/Gears of War/TPS combined with Gunslinger mode from DMC. That sound good? Perhaps more like Vanquish and Gunslinger. Lots of speed, fluid movement, varied gun selection. Maybe some stealth missions with silenced guns, snipers etc.

Fury I imagine would be focused on perhaps building her rage and combo meters for more damage and buffs. Plus, her whip would be used to get around.

Strife would basically be DMC. He isn't all guns, he just uses his signature pistols, Mercy and Redemption. If he had his own game he would probably borrow weapons from the others same way War did, so pistols primary with a sword secondary and others for utility.

Fucker's are losing money doing remasters for free, could exploit it for money and then use the money to fund the publishing of multiple F2P games on iOS, then they could set their sights on releasing 1 large tripple A property each year with a dev time of 3 years for each project given out to mutiple in-house teams.

The trick here is that they're losing nothing, in essence.

Sure, they lose money by spending resources and time on remasters, but think of what they're gaining from this.

They're remaking games and giving them out for free to people who already own them. This drums up more press about the games, as everyone likes free games. If they do a good enough job on the remaster, which they seem to of done, then people recommend it and they drum up some amount of money to recoup losses.

Now that's great, they got some press for old-ish games, so people are ready/asking for a sequel they already have planned/in development.
Now they go about re-releasing a bunch of games like Destroy All Humans and Gothic. This costs them almost nothing, just a fee to Microsoft/Sony/Steam and maybe a week or two of marketing. Again, they make money, get more support for sequels they have planned and drum up attention that THQ is back, sort of.

And that's not even the smartest part of this entire relauch of the THQ name.
The absolutely brilliant part of this is that they're giving all their employees a chance to learn new skills. By making their employees remaster older games, they're forced to look at how these games were made, in design, layout and raw code.
Every single person that works on Darksiders has just been under the hood of the game, and knows how to make the 3rd one just like the original 2.

I know I sound a bit naive and fanboy-ish, but by doing this, they're effectively outplayed every other major game studio.

I know I bought a copy of their Destroy All Humans PS4 port(Since my 360 broke a few months ago and I owned an Xbox copy). And while it was almost no effort on their part I wish they had put a little more into it. The framerate is almost always iffy and it's crashed once in the 10 hours I've played so far for seemingly no reason.

While I too would of wanted a remaster of DAH, not just a re-release, hasn't it done it's part in that now you want a new game to come out, with 60FPS and spanking new, wacky graphics of people blowing up?

I wish I thought of this strategy first, it's so fool proof, as long as they release only the games poeple want from their backlog.

Is Darksiders 2 good? I 100% original Darksiders, but gave up on the second after some time and never came back to finish it. Probably because of increased areas and increased time walking around backtrackng as a result. If you decided to replay Darksiders, would you play first or second game?

Second is slower, some really atmospheric areas and dungeons, has really great music. Story isn't as interesting but there's a lot of cool side stories and side characters, and just generally fleshing out the lore of the universe. Loot system is silly and gets overpowered if you know what you're doing. If you've already played DS1 then you should go and play DS2.

I just started playing "The Dwafs" it's pretty cool so far but hard, I like it. I keep getting my assignment kicked on the first fight on normal difficulty
